Chapter 1294: Chapter 1293: You’re Becoming Someone I Barely Recognize

Evelyn Taylor can only see Lily Turner’s present; she can’t imagine what Lily’s childhood was like. Growing up happy herself, she can’t feel the kind of pitiful situation Lily experienced.

"Oh, you."

Seeing Evelyn’s attitude, Harriet White didn’t know what to say anymore. She wanted to reason with her daughter a bit more but worried it would upset her daughter, who was already very agitated.

"What’s wrong with me? How am I worse than that woman with the last name Turner?" Evelyn has no intention of stopping; whenever Lily Turner is mentioned, her emotions become agitated and are hard to calm down.

Seeing her daughter’s stubborn ignorance, Harriet angrily replied, "You’re becoming unrecognizable to me."

Although she said this out of anger, it was undoubtedly her true feelings; she genuinely felt her daughter had changed a lot.

Her daughter was willful as a child but not spoiled. Now, her daughter is not only willful but also spoiled, stubborn to the point where Harriet gets so angry she wants to hit someone.

"I haven’t changed; it’s all of you who have changed collectively." Evelyn doesn’t care that she’s infuriating her mother, still venting her dissatisfaction at everyone’s favoritism towards Lily Turner.

Seeing her daughter unable to recognize her faults, Harriet glared angrily and took several deep breaths, preventing herself from exploding in anger, "Evelyn! You’re not a three-year-old; you should be mature."

Speaking of maturity, she deliberately emphasized her tone, wanting to stress those two words.

Her daughter seemed immature in her eyes, which worried and anxious Harriet, but she didn’t know how to make her daughter mature.

"Mom! In your eyes, am I just an immature kid?" Evelyn only hears the surface meaning of Harriet’s words, deliberately ignoring the deeper meaning.

Harriet wanted to nod and say yes, but realized that doing so wouldn’t achieve her desired result and might worsen the situation. She couldn’t be impatient and ruin her greater plan.

"Remember to meet Aunt Lee’s distant nephew tomorrow," Harriet stopped discussing maturity and switched the topic back to the arranged meeting.

Hearing her mother mention the meeting, Evelyn’s face suddenly changed, "Mom! I don’t want to go on a blind date."

She never thought she would need to go on blind dates. From the day she confirmed her feelings for Easton Holmes, she decided she’d be Mrs. Holmes for life.

But she didn’t expect a woman named Lily Turner to appear midway, not only stealing her identity as Mrs. Holmes but also everyone’s love.

These were originally hers but now all stolen by the woman with the last name Turner.

"Whether you want to or not, you have to go, or else I’ll talk to your captain and have her help you settle your lifelong affairs." Harriet didn’t indulge Evelyn’s temperament this time, speaking with a hard and somewhat threatening tone.
