Chapter 1291: Chapter 1290: Why Do You Want to Leave Before We Even Start Playing?

Upon hearing that his great-grandfather was delayed and wouldn’t return soon, little Aiden pouted in disappointment, but he quickly recovered and ran towards Harriet. "What about Uncle? Is Uncle not home either?"

He only saw his great-grandmother and aunt, and not the two others he was hoping to see.

"Uncle is not home either."

The disappointment was evident on little Aiden’s face. Harriet reached out to gently pat his little head, silently comforting his disheartened mood.

Hearing Harriet say that Ryan wasn’t home, Easton Holmes and Lily Turner were also disappointed, though they were better at hiding it than their son. Their disappointment remained internal, showing no trace on their faces.

"Why are both great-grandfather and uncle not here?" Little Aiden was unusually dejected. Although he liked his great-grandmother, he preferred his great-grandfather and uncle.

"Grandfather and Uncle aren’t here, but Grandma and Aunt are." Harriet bent down to hold little Aiden’s hand and led him inside while saying to Easton and Lily, "Easton! Lily! You two come in and sit down."

After speaking to Easton and Lily, Harriet quietly glanced at Evelyn Taylor, who was sitting on the sofa. Despite her eyes fixed on her phone, it was clear her daughter was sulking.

"Evelyn! Go and get some snacks for Aiden."

Upon hearing her mother call her, Evelyn quickly looked up, glanced at the approaching group, and got up with her phone, leaving the living room.

Easton and Lily had not achieved their purpose for visiting today and weren’t planning to leave so easily. They sat down on the sofa with Harriet and little Aiden.

Just as they settled, Evelyn came back with some snacks, casually placed them on the coffee table, and left the living room again, heading upstairs to her room.

Throughout the process, Evelyn did not greet Easton and Lily, nor did they greet her. She felt awkward upon seeing them, and likewise, they felt the same unease towards her.

Especially Lily, every time she saw Evelyn, she felt a particular awkwardness. Although Evelyn was her blood cousin, that woman was also her rival.

She always had a lingering resentment towards that woman, unable to close the distance between them and couldn’t bring herself to call her ’sister.’

The only sister she acknowledged in her life was Alice Turner, who still remained out of touch.

"Mom! How about we go out to play?"

Little Aiden had come to the Taylor Family home joyfully, hoping to see Aiden Taylor and Ryan Taylor, who always played wildly with him.

But neither were home today, leaving little Aiden feeling quite bored. He didn’t even glance at the snacks, instead moving towards Lily and Easton.

Hearing her son call to her, Lily quickly set aside her melancholic thoughts and looked at Aiden with a smile, "Why do you want to leave without playing? Don’t you love playing at great-grandma’s house?"

Without seeing her cousin here, she felt slightly regretful about leaving empty-handed.

"I want to go find Little Ethan to play now." Little Aiden wanted to go out and play with his little friends. As he spoke, he reached out and grabbed his mom’s hand, trying to pull her up from the sofa.
