Chapter 1289: Chapter 1288: I Feel So Honored
In the evening, as Easton Holmes just arrived at the gate from the Military Department, he saw Lily Turner standing at the door. Seeing him come in, she walked briskly towards him, making him think something big had happened at home, so he quickened his pace to meet her.
"Why did you come out to wait for me? I’m so honored!" As he met her, he reached out and took her hand.
"Don’t joke around with me, I have something to ask you." Lily raised her other hand and slapped Easton, who was joking around with her, stopping his playful behavior. She continued, "Did you know my brother had a girlfriend all along?"
Facing her husband, standing side by side, she looked him straight in the eyes, waiting to hear how he would explain himself.
So she came out for someone else’s business, he thought she had specially come out to wait for him.
Hearing that Lily was waiting for him concerning Ryan Taylor, Easton felt a little disappointed, but he didn’t show any displeasure. "Your brother has a girlfriend? Where did you get this information? Is it reliable or not?"
If he guessed correctly, this news must have come from their good friend’s mother.
"Mom mentioned it when she came to our house today. She said my brother has a girlfriend, and the woman is an instructor at their military academy." Lily relayed everything she knew, but she still felt that Easton knew more and earlier than she did. "You really didn’t know? My brother wouldn’t have told you nothing, right?"
She looked at her husband, her face clearly saying, "I don’t believe you."
Seeing his wife not believing him, Easton sighed deeply, "Honey! Do you think I would hide something like that from you?"
He reached up to pinch his wife’s cheek to express his discontent with her disbelief.
"You really didn’t know?" Lily removed his hand from her cheek, clutching Easton’s clothes, pressing for an answer.
Easton looked down at the hand clutching his clothes, then looked up at its owner, "I really didn’t know."
If he had known, he would have told her right away, as she was highly interested in this matter.
Lily scrutinized her husband, seeing no sign of lying from him, she finally concluded he really didn’t know, and sighed in disappointment, "I thought I could get some insider information from you, but it turns out you know nothing."
There must be more to her brother and that female instructor’s story, surely it’s not as simple as it seems on the surface.
"Insider information? What’s the insider story between your brother and that woman?" Easton was genuinely confused by his wife’s inquiry, unable to comprehend what she was implying.
Lily shook her head, "I don’t know the exact inside story, but I just feel that something isn’t as simple as it seems between the two of them."
Being instructors at the same military academy, there surely must be some story between them.
"Just ask your brother directly." Easton took Lily’s hand and started walking out of the yard, heading to the Taylor Family to inquire with Ryan.
Seeing this, she immediately guessed what he intended to do, "Are we going to find my brother? Are you sure he’s home now?"
As she asked, she didn’t stop walking, following his steps and heading to the Taylor Family to chat about the gossip with her brother.
