Chapter 1288: Chapter 1287: What a Coincidence
Lily Turner listened to Easton Holmes’ words and didn’t visit Jenny York, who had become a vegetable at the hospital. Initially, she often thought about it, but later on, some joyful events completely shifted her attention.
One day, Harriet White came to the Linton Family home to see the three adorable babies. She not only brought toys and treats for them but also brought good news for everyone, which was that Ryan Taylor had a girlfriend.
"Aunt! My brother has a girlfriend?! How did they meet? Was it through matchmaking? Or did he meet her himself?" Upon hearing that Ryan Taylor had a girlfriend, everyone at home was happy, especially Lily Turner. She wasn’t just happy; she was exceptionally excited and couldn’t wait for others to react before she started questioning Harriet eagerly.
Seeing her so excited and thrilled, Harriet White laughed and patted the hand she held onto her arm. "It was through matchmaking, but not entirely because of that."
Even Harriet herself wasn’t sure what was going on; she just felt like it couldn’t be considered matchmaking.
"What do you mean by that? What’s ’kind of’ matchmaking? Does it mean my brother and his girlfriend knew each other before?" Lily Turner, along with the others, was puzzled by Harriet’s words, but everyone else just looked at Harriet in confusion while she voiced her own doubts.
Harriet nodded: "Your brother and his girlfriend are from the same military school. His girlfriend is an instructor there, but..."
"My brother kept it well hidden. He has a girlfriend and hasn’t told us." Before Harriet could finish, Lily eagerly interrupted, cutting her off before she could say more.
Lily wasn’t the only one curious and surprised about this; everyone else present was, too. They all turned their heads toward Harriet, waiting for her to explain and clarify.
Seeing everyone filled with curiosity and surprise, Harriet quickly smiled and explained, "They only realized they were from the same military school during the matchmaking. There hadn’t been any previous incidents between them."
She truthfully shared what she knew with everyone, but as for any other hidden truths, as a mother, she wasn’t aware.
"This truly is fate, then."
After hearing Harriet’s words, Amelia Linton happily remarked.
Lily Turner, at this moment, fell silent and quietly sat to the side, lost in thought with her head down, not making any sound for quite some time.
Harriet, sitting beside Lily, noticed her quiet demeanor and lifted the arm Lily was holding, tilting her head to ask, "Girl! What are you so absorbed in thinking about?"
Worried that she might not have noticed her speaking, she lifted her arm again as she spoke, this time with a more significant motion than before.
When Harriet had lifted her arm the first time to speak, Lily had noticed but just hadn’t come out of her thoughts immediately. Harriet’s movement reminded her again, and she slowly emerged from her thoughts.
"Not thinking about anything." She smiled at the people around her without saying much more.
Lily Turner didn’t tell the truth. She had been deep in thought and thought about many things, but what she pondered wasn’t easy to share with others.
She was merely speculating about some things, though it was just her speculation. She planned to ask her husband for clarity when he got home later—he would definitely know what they didn’t, as he and her brother were great friends.
