Chapter 1287: Chapter 1286: It’s Best for Both You and That Woman

As Easton Holmes walked quickly towards the restroom doorway, Lily Turner emerged from inside. Seeing him approach, she didn’t feel the slightest bit surprised.

Without saying a word, she directly threw herself into his arms. He opened his arms and naturally embraced her tightly.

Easton didn’t ask anything, instead, he tightened his arms, silently wrapping Lily snugly in his embrace.

"Honey! What should I do?" Lily raised her head in Easton’s arms, looking at him with a face full of helplessness. Although she had just washed her face, her eyes were still red from crying.

Easton instantly noticed Lily’s reddened eyes, and his brow furrowed sharply, "What happened?"

She cried; what on earth happened?

"Jenny York became a vegetative state due to a car accident."

Thinking of her roommate who told her earlier today, Lily’s mood became incredibly low. Despite that woman’s malicious actions in the past, Lily had been deeply resentful, but she had completely moved on from those unpleasant events.

She now lives very happily, filled with joy and family love, and she hadn’t expected such a thing to happen at this time. Past events seemed like film clips, flicking through her mind frame by frame.

Easton didn’t immediately recall who Jenny York was and furrowed his brow even tighter, "Who is this Jenny York? Is she your friend?"

No wonder his wife felt distressed; it turned out a friend became a vegetative state due to a car accident.

"..."

Lily thought Easton was deliberately pretending to be clueless, but when she saw his truly puzzled expression, she knew he honestly hadn’t figured out who she was talking about.

It’s understandable he didn’t immediately figure it out, as before he married her, everything was handled by Luke Crowe.

"The woman who took my ex-boyfriend." She could have mentioned Henry Thompson, but seeing his lack of understanding about her past, she couldn’t help but want to tease him.

"Ah, that woman!" Seeing Lily glaring at him angrily, Easton suddenly remembered, recalling who Jenny York was to Lily. That woman had once been her best friend, but later did something that made her extremely angry and upset.

He could tell she was glaring at him because she thought he was unaware and didn’t care about her past. She was purposely trying to provoke him.

Such a silly wife! How could he not know about her past? He knew some things about her more thoroughly than she did herself.

Lily, however, was unaware of this, and seeing Easton remember, she didn’t continue to dwell on the matter, sighed, and once more asked, "Honey! Do you think I should..."

"I think you should pretend you don’t know about it. That would be best for both you and that woman." As soon as Lily started speaking, Easton knew what she wanted to say. Before she finished, he immediately interrupted her.

He could understand her complex and conflicting emotions. Although what that woman did was despicable, now she became a vegetative state due to a car accident. Feeling troubled was normal; that woman was once a friend.

If she’d gleefully shared this news, he would have found her very frightening. However, he also didn’t support her going to see that woman.

She had finally moved on from that past, and he didn’t want her to get entangled again.
