Chapter 135: Ch 134: Wrong person to make fun of

"Mother, are we staying here tonight?"

When Kael had agreed with Elena about being called ’mother’, he had done it in a highly emotional state.

Obviously, it did not hit him until later that he had agreed to something so weird until they were at the inn and Elena had called him that.

The amount of judgmental looks he had gotten was more than he ever had in his previous life.

The inn owner looked especially flustered while glancing between him and Elena (who was visibly older) before deciding that it was none of her business.

"..."

"..."

"Excuse me, but would you like to include breakfast with the room service?"

The innkeeper’s voice was judgmental, but at least she was polite enough to show mercy and not question him. The others, however, were happily snickering away at him.

"Please deliver it to our rooms."

There was no way Kael was going to come down for breakfast after what had just happened, and the inn owner seemed to understand him and give him space.

Sigh

’I should have disregarded what the kids said and teleported back home. A little strain on my mana reserves would be so much better than this humiliation.’

Kael sighed again, discomfort lining his face.

"Teacher, are you feeling stressed because of what happened? Do you want me to help?"

Seraphina asked in a worried voice, and Kael had a sudden feeling that she would do something drastic if he allowed her to do whatever she wanted.

So he instantly declined her help.

"There is no need to do anything. We won’t see these people again anyway, and I have no intention of taking their words to heart."

Kael ruffled her hair, and Seraphina let the topic go.

They reached their booked rooms, which were across from each other and divided based on gender. But Elena was already gripping his shirt and begging him with her eyes.

"Can I stay with you tonight-"

"Elena, we have another room. You should come with me, and I will show you some fun things. Right, Iris?"

Seraphina clutched Elena’s arm before quickly pulling her hand away from Kael’s shirt. Her smile was easy-going, but Elena looked scared of her.

"N-No! I don’t want to! Don’t take me away! Mother, help meeeee-"

Kael only waved at Elena before he watched Iris slam the door shut behind her. The hallway was quiet after that, and Kael decided it was time for him to head to bed as well.

"I will be heading to bed now. You can take a bath first if you want to. Just make sure not to leave the room tonight."

Kael warned Leon before he fell asleep. His body was too exhausted to keep up with any more excitement, and his energy levels were crashing.

He swore he saw a smirk on Leon’s face that promised dark intentions, but whatever the hero was planning was none of his business.

__________

Seraphina felt irritated as she dragged Elena behind her back to their room.

’How can Elena just cling to Kael like this? And not only that, but she is clearly making Kael uncomfortable. Why does he feel any pity for her anyway? She should have gone with Lyra since she’s her problem now.’

Seraphina continued to drag Elena until they were near the bed, and then she pushed the older girl onto it.

Elena looked shocked by what was happening, and the fight had drained out of her system by now.

But Seraphina could not bring herself to feel sorry for Elena.

Elena looked at her calmly, and Seraphina tried to justify her actions quickly.

"Elder Sister, I know that you have had a hard time until now. I understand your struggles better than most people. However, you do understand that you are inconveniencing Kael by sticking to him?"

Seraphina asked, and she watched as Elena slowly nodded to show that she was listening.

"Then, you should not inconvenience Kael any more in the future. Instead, if you have any problems, you can come to me, and I will resolve them for you. How does that sound?"

Seraphina asked in the sweetest voice she could. There was no reason for Elena to say no to her considering what she had shown the other girl so far.

However, Elena decided to betray her expectations.

"I don’t want to. I am satisfied with what I have right now. And I know that I might be inconveniencing Kael, but I won’t stop until he tells me to. This is between me and him. As for the trouble I am causing Kael...isn’t it those people’s fault for laughing at our bond?"

Elena asked Seraphina, rendering her speechless.

Seraphina wanted to pin all the blame for what had happened on Elena, but she had to admit that even she was put out by how the other customers at the inn had reacted to Elena’s words.

"Those people made a mistake. Still, you-!"

"Hey, how about we get our revenge on those people? Kael is too nice to do it, so we should do it for him."

Elena sounded earnest, and Seraphina felt a little excited.

The idea of getting revenge on those people did not sound bad...

"Please don’t! I have a feeling that you both will bring out the worst in each other-"

"Does that mean you are not going to help us against the people who made fun of Teacher?"

Seraphina asked, and Iris suddenly felt tongue-tied.

"You know what I am saying-"

"Is that a yes or no?"

"Fine, I will help. But just because someone needs to make sure you both don’t go overboard."

Iris agreed, citing her reasons on the surface. But they all knew that this was just a front she was putting on to hide her true intentions.

"Alright, so we are in agreement. We have tonight to take care of this matter and make sure it does not reach Teacher’s ears. Does anyone have any plans?"

Seraphina asked, and Elena raised her hand.

"I can think of a few ways to get them out. But how would we quiet their mouths-"

Seraphina looked at Iris, who sighed and decided to volunteer.

"Fine, I will take care of that. Since we are going to be doing this anyway, let’s do it right so that Kael won’t be able to find anything."
