Chapter 225: Magic / 6.12 : End of a vicious cycle
Yujin looked at Yitian leaving wide-eyed. Atlas felt just as stunned. He knows from the previous twins how much they need to share everything and always be around the other so it’s shocking that Yitian is willing to walk away and even gave them his blessing.
He checked Versem and saw that the twins were indeed planning to come back after the time frame. When they left he never checked on them because he didn’t want to see them being all lovey-dovey with Yan.
He knows it’s been hard on Yitian only because of the OGTL but it seems like it’s worst than he thought. Yitian stopped when Atlas asked:
"Can you?"
Yitian turned around.
"What?"
"You said that Yujin can’t be without me. Can you?"
Yitian swallowed and looked down. Of course, he can’t be without him but he doesn’t want Yujin to be unhappy when this is all his fault. He’s the one who compared him to Yan and made that comment when he came back.
He was hurt and he lashed out. He looked up and said:
"I can so it’s good that you only like Yujin."
Atlas frowned at Yitian’s smile. It made his heart ache, he only saw pain behind it and exhaustion. He stood up and asked:
"When was the last time you had a full night of sleep?"
Yujin said:
"It started when Father passed away and he sleeps a couple of hours only when I sleep next to him."
Atlas frowned deeper and touched his forehead. He asked:
"Is it often hot?"
Yitian nodded.
Atlas said:
"You need to sleep right now."
"There’s no need, even if I lay down I won’t be able to."
Atlas said:
"Yujin and I will sleep with you."
"You will?"
Atlas nodded. He held his hand and pulled him out. Once they were in the imperial chambers the twins bathed and put on thin white robes. Atlas joined them after bathing and got in the middle.
Yitian and Yujin were already laying down. Atlas opened Yitian’s mouth and poured a potion into it. When he was done he laid down and held onto his waist.
Yitian felt his heartbeat quicken and he hugged him back. Atlas felt Yujin hug him from behind and the three of them fell asleep.
Yitian woke up and looked at the person in his arms. He can’t remember the last time he was able to sleep for so long. He didn’t even wake up in the middle of the night.
After his father passed he put all his hopes in Atlas and he only felt worst every day he didn’t show up. When he saw him again he was hurt and he lashed out but it isn’t fair to Atlas.
It killed him when he saw him cry and he truly realized how badly he hurt him. Since he didn’t show anything he didn’t believe he was hurt or that he cared that deeply.
He doesn’t want to give up on him but he will if it means that his brother will be happy. Yujin has been his rock since his father passed and he deserves to be happy.
What they want most in the world is Atlas so he’ll step out like that they’ll be happy. It’s all his fault anyway, not Yujin’s.
It feels like a dream to wake up with Atlas at their side. He wishes every morning could be like that. He caressed his cheek and his eyes flashed with sadness. Atlas opened his eyes and met Yitian’s.
Yitian pulled back his hand. Atlas touched his forehead and saw that it wasn’t hot anymore. Atlas sat up and so did the twins. Yitian looked away not sure what to say.
Atlas said:
"You’re the emperor you need to take better care of yourself."
Yitian looked at Atlas and said:
"I know I just couldn’t sleep."
Atlas sighed.
"You need to stop this vicious cycle. If you’re hurt say it, don’t just hurt someone back by lashing out."
Yitian looked at Atlas stunned. How does he know that’s what he does? How can he not when he did it twice to him?
Yitian said:
"I’m sorry I know that it’s not healthy. It kills me that I hurt you, I don’t want to see you cry let alone be the reason you do."
Yitian swallowed and said:
"You asked me yesterday If I can be without you."
Atlas nodded.
Yitian admitted:
"I can’t and I don’t want to but I’ll accept your decision if you only want to be with Yujin."
Atlas looked at Yitian and sighed. Every time he sees him he just wants to hug him because he knows how much he hurts and it kills him too. He doesn’t want him to have the same end as in the OGTL.
His personality became darker and darker until he even kept his distance from Yujin. Despite his attitude, Yitian is more sensitive than Yujin and he feels things deeper.
Atlas sat on his lap and caressed his cheek.
"Just like it kills you that you hurt me it kills me that you’re in so much pain."
After his father passed Yitian put all his hopes on seeing Atlas again. He only realized that yesterday after checking Versem. Yitian looked at Atlas teary-eyed.
When a tear fell Atlas wiped it and said:
"Don’t cry."
Despite saying that Atlas’ eyes moistened. He wishes he could take away his pain.
"If you feel something tell me then we’ll be fine okay?"
Yitian immediately nodded and he hugged Atlas tightly. Atlas caressed his nape.
Yujin smiled, he’s glad Atlas is here. He knows Yitian will get better and more lively. Atlas pulled back and kissed him tenderly. Yitian kissed him back his heartbeat out of control.
He pulled back and met Atlas’s eyes. Atlas caressed his cheeks with soft eyes. Yitian smiled brightly.
"What about me?"
Atlas and Yitian looked at Yujin’s pouty face and smiled. Yujin moved closed and kissed him too. Yujin smiled and Atlas smiled at his babies.
