Chapter 226: Magic / 6.13 : Fixing the OGTL
When Atlas finished bathing and dressing he walked out of his chambers and came face to face with the twins. Atlas smiled and they both took one of his hands.
They walked to the dining hall and took a seat around the table. Yujin sat on one side and Yitian on the other with Atlas on his lap.
Despite all the servants believing that Atlas seduced the twins as he did the king from the neighboring kingdom before none of them showed anything.
Atlas is satisfied enough that’s why he made an example out of that servant yesterday. Atlas grabbed the chopsticks and fed his Er-Ge.
Yujin looked at them with a smile then he ordered:
"Everyone leave."
They all respectfully bowed and then left. Yujin looked at his brother again, Yitian’s happiness was practically palpable. He is happy he is better, things have been hard on him.
Despite people thinking he is cold and ruthless he knows that it’s not the case. Yitian has low lows and high highs. There’s no middle ground in his feelings. He told him he should see someone to help with that but he refused.
Yitian is the emperor everyone is after his life so it’s not like they can trust anyone and he gets it. But it kills him that he can’t do anything to help him that way.
Since they kept losing family members Yitian was depressed and his mood kept getting lower and lower. Even if he is happy right now he doesn’t want him to relapse again if something bad happens.
Atlas put the chopsticks down and said:
"Everyone needs help but the one you need is different. You need help with your mental health."
Yitian tilted his head.
"What’s that?"
Atlas explained:
"It’s your emotional and social well-being. It affects how you think, feel and act. Don’t you feel like sometimes your emotions are out of control and extreme?"
Yitian swallowed and he nodded. Will Atlas think he is a freak? Atlas could see the worry in his eyes and he caressed his cheek.
"It isn’t your fault and it has nothing to do with everything that’s been going on."
Yitian and Yujin felt their heartbeat quicken. Yitian asked hopefully:
"Really?"
If it isn’t his fault then does that mean that Atlas can cure it? He thought that he felt this way because he kept losing family members. Atlas said:
"Really. It’s an illness and you’ll have to take a pill every week."
Yitian asked:
"If I do will I feel like myself again?"
Atlas nodded.
"You will."
The reason Yitian feels like that is that he is bipolar. In this era, no one knows about mental health let alone about this disorder.
The fact that he kept going through tragedy after tragedy In the OGTL and the darkness spreading only made things worst. He felt like he was engulfed by that pain daily.
When he is in manic phases he can’t sleep either so he had no time to rest and take a break from everything. The only time Yitian felt peace was when he was finally dying.
He had suicidal thoughts but he stayed alive for his brother. After talking to him yesterday Atlas checked Versem and after looking at his behavior he realized that he is bipolar.
He felt his heart break when he looked at the OGTL and saw how hard things were for him. Yesterday he gave him a potion to sleep and put a mood stabilizer in it that’s why he feels like himself again.
Usually, they only last a few hours but he got some from the future that last a day to make sure they were the right ones for him. Now that he knows that they are he got some that last a week so he’ll only have to take it once every week.
Atlas said:
"You’ll have to take this pill once a week. You’ll feel like yourself and you’ll be able to sleep, not sleeping is a side effect of your illness. That and your impulsivity so you’ll feel more grounded."
Yitian said as he realized:
"That’s what you gave me yesterday."
Atlas nodded. When he woke up this morning he felt better than he had in forever but he thought it was because Atlas was there. His mind is clear and he doesn’t feel those impulses either.
Yitian hugged Atlas tightly. Atlas caressed his head and he closed his eyes. His poor baby has gone through so much and all this time he didn’t know why he felt like that.
Now that he’s here he’ll make sure to take care of him. Yujin looked at them teary-eyed. He feels grateful that Atlas is there and he understands what Yitian has. Furthermore, they know that they can trust him.
Yitian pulled back and looked at Atlas.
"Will you be there every week to give me the pill?"
Atlas nodded.
Yitian asked nervously:
"Forever?"
Atlas smiled gently and he caressed his cheek.
"Forever my love."
Yitian’s eyes moistened and he kissed him tenderly.
Yujin stood up and sat next to them. Atlas pulled back and kissed him as well. He smiled at Yujin and said:
"I’ll never leave you."
Yujin smiled brightly. He believes Atlas when he says that. He feels so relieved, he was worried about Yitian. They are incredibly lucky to have someone as knowledgeable as Atlas around.
Yitian said:
"I’m truly sorry for what happened."
Atlas met his eyes.
"I know. This is in the past so let’s leave it there and only focus on the present now okay?"
He was hurt but he knows that the twins are sorry and he doesn’t want to be without them. Just like it hurt them when he was apart from them it hurt him.
Er-Ge is a part of him now and he feels like he is missing a limb when he isn’t by his side. He just wants to focus on their future and be happy. He doesn’t plan on repeating the OGTL.
Yitian nodded. Atlas poured a glass of water and gave it to Yitian. Yitian took the pill and swallowed it. Atlas grabbed the chopsticks and he resumed eating and feeding him. The three of them ate in a good mood.
