Chapter 224: Magic / 6.11 : Giving up
Yan went back home and knocked on his father’s study.
"Come in."
Yan came in and closed the door behind him.
He took a seat in front of his father and he asked:
"How did it go?"
"He wants me to tell the truth of what happened in front of everyone on the day of the feast."
When Huang’s eyes darkened Yan’s heartbeat quickened. He knows that his father is already pissed after what happened in court.
He smiled and said:
"Don’t worry I fixed it."
Huang frowned and asked:
"What did you do?"
Yan said:
"I sent two mages to find out where Atlas was when he was away and it turns out that he was staying in the neighboring kingdom with king Wu Luoyang. He was in a secret relationship with him. I invited him to the feast with his wife and he agreed since he owes me. The queen isn’t even aware that he had a relationship with Atlas. We’ll make sure everyone founds out. Meanwhile, I’ve been spreading all those rumors about him and they’ll see that it’s the truth. Even if people find out that I’m the one who wanted to go to beast valley they’ll just gossip about Atlas."
Huang looked at his son feeling complicated. His plan is good but he doesn’t like the fact that he did all of this behind his back. Yan asked:
"Father do you like my plan?"
When Yan looked at Huang expectantly with shiny eyes he relaxed.
"I do it’s perfect."
Yan smiled brightly and his heartbeat quickened in excitement. His father is always the one who makes the plan so he’s glad he likes his.
He felt like he had been disappointed before so he is happy.
"Next time talk to me before putting a plan in motion."
Yan’s smile faded and he nodded. Huang said as he caressed his head.
"You did well."
Yan smiled again and Huang smiled back.
Atlas opened his eyes when he heard:
"Young master his majesties are calling you to have dinner with them."
"I’ll be right there."
Atlas put down Ling Saifei’s hand and he felt pressure on his nexus as soon as the transfer stopped. He took a deep breath then he stood up.
He immediately fell to his knees in pain. He closed his eyes waiting for the pain to pass. He only needs to go through this a couple more days then she’ll be fine. When the pain faded he stood up and went to the dining hall.
He took a seat in front of the twins and looked at the food on the table. Maids filled their plates and Atlas looked at his. She was looking at him with disdain like he was disgusting.
The entire Imperial City thinks he has a sugar daddy so it isn’t shocking. All the servant at the imperial palace thinks that now that he is back he wants to use the twins to live well.
At least the other servants don’t show their disdain in his face but that maid dares. Once his plate was filled Atlas grabbed her wrist tightly. She looked at him wide-eyed and tried to pull it away but couldn’t.
In her other hand, she was holding a plate with food and couldn’t even put it down on the table. She looked at Atlas to see what he wanted but he was just looking at her, she felt like he was peering into her soul.
Once Atlas was done he let go of her and she fell to the floor. The plates of food fell on her face and chest. She screamed because of how hot the food was.
Atlas stood up and knelt in front of her. He sneered:
"You dare show disdain and judge me when you sleep with any official’s son who would have you? You’re aware that they’re never going to make you their consort or concubine right? You’re filthy and you better show respect before I make your inside match your outside. Is that clear?"
The maid looked at Atlas crying. She looked at the emperor and great general and knew that they weren’t going to come to her rescue.
She murmured between sobs:
"I’m sorry young master."
Atlas rolled his eyes and took back his seat. The emperor looked at his eunuch and he took her away. A few seconds later he came back and the room was emptied until only the three of them remained.
The twins looked at Atlas and saw that he was touching a leather bracelet he was wearing. The bracelet was the color Eden. Atlas closed his eyes and kept touching his bracelet.
After a few seconds, he relaxed and looked at the bracelet. His son is the one who made it for him and it always soothes him when he touches it. He misses Eden so much.
He misses him, Damian, Jacob, Tristan, and his grandchildren. He just misses his previous life so much. If everything was fine and he was okay he wouldn’t feel this emptiness in him but it isn’t.
If things aren’t bad enough the darkness he is sucking out of Ling Saifei feeds on any bad or sad emotions. That’s why Yitian changed so much in the OGTL. He was depressed after his father passed and he turned cold and hostile.
He’ll only be able to purge the darkness when everything is out of Ling Saifei. The twins stood up and sat at his sides. Yitian pulled Atlas on his lap but Atlas pushed his hands away.
Yitian felt his heart clench. Yujin pulled Atlas on his lap and Atlas laid his head on his chest and let him feed him. As he fed him he kept touching his bracelet. When they finished eating Yujin looked at Yitian.
He feels like Yitian is on the brink so they need to fix this with Atlas right now.
"Atlas?"
Atlas pulled back and met Yujin’s eyes.
He said:
"We didn’t realize how much we hurt you and we..."
Yitian cut him.
"Brother."
Yujin looked at his brother with a frown. Yitian looked at him then at Atlas and said:
"I understand that you’re angry at me for my words and I don’t blame you. I’m glad that you’re not holding it against Yujin. If you did I would’ve never forgiven myself for ruining this for him. He cares for you and he missed you every day. He was planning on going back to beast valley to get you back if you hadn’t come back, he gave himself a year. Yujin would’ve looked for you forever until you finally came back with him to the imperial city. I know that he can’t be without you."
Yitian stood up and said his back to them:
"I wish you the best."
