Morning soon arrived, and Amon could be seen glancing at the screen in front of him.

[Fate Points: 25]
[Note that with the new system upgrade, 1 Fate Point is gained every day automatically whether you sign in or not.]
Amon read through the notification for a moment, quietly amazed by how much he’d grown.
In just a few days, he’d wiped out all the creatures in the surrounding county, causing his level to soar.
Aside from that, he’d also decided not to sign in, choosing instead to store his Fate Points.
At the rate of gaining 1 Fate Point daily for three days, combined with the 22 he had already saved, he was now sitting at 25.
Amon felt that with the number of Fate Points he had, it should be enough to increase his strength to a drastic extent.
While asking the system a few questions, he realized that he couldn’t just upgrade his dagger. He could also upgrade countless other things, including his skills.
Another terrifying discovery was that he could now upgrade the skills of others.
The realization made Amon ponder silently.
If he could get a subordinate to handle minor tasks for him, it would make things much easier.
After staring at the system screen for some time, Amon decided to upgrade the dagger a few more times before shifting his attention to the next matter at hand.
Collete sat off to the side, scribbling as always.
After three days, Amon felt there was something different about her drawings.
He was eager to see what she would draw next.
Although they were always gruesome, he felt there had to be some hidden mystery behind them.
She couldn’t possibly enjoy drawing things like that... could she?
Aside from that, over the past three days, his relationship with Collete had deepened.
She had begun opening up to him, sharing little things, and at times they would even chat idly before she drifted off to sleep while Amon went out hunting through the night.
’The Night Crawlers within the surrounding tens of kilometers have become scarce. It seems I’ll have to go someplace else...’
Amon contemplated his next course of action while silently upgrading the dagger.
Before long, after spending more than ten Fate Points, he upgraded it to Divine Rank.
Amon glanced down at it in silence before storing it inside the system space.
Merely existing in reality, the blade had already begun slicing apart space itself.
The sight only made Amon realize just how terrifying he had become.
He thought for a moment before walking lightly toward the table where Collete was quietly drawing.
Upon arriving, he lowered his gaze to the piece of paper.
’Is she... crying?’
Amon was silently startled.
Tears slipped from Collete’s eyes one after another as she continued scribbling across the paper.
This drawing seemed particularly gruesome, carrying even more emotion than all the previous ones.
Countless black figures, which Amon assumed were humans, covered the page.
Towering above them were monstrous creatures.
Below, thick black shading spread across the paper, as though trying to convey that every last human had been slaughtered.
Just as Amon was engrossed in deciphering its meaning, Collete spoke with trembling lips.
"Ca... can you save them please?"
Amon froze, thinking he’d heard wrong.
Collete spoke again.
"Ca... can you save everyone?"
She turned toward Amon, tears shimmering in her eyes.
"A... actually..."
...
Collete proceeded to explain her predicament to Amon.
The two children now sat together on the bed, quietly conversing.
Amon remained silent, listening to every word she spoke.
After pondering for a while, he slowly realized that Collete had likely been carrying this trauma for a very long time.
’For a little girl to bear so much weight on her own...’ Amon murmured inwardly, silently shocked by how heartless the gods could be.
Who would have expected them to grant such a terrifying ability to such a little girl?
The thought left Amon disappointed, and for some reason, faintly angry.
Then again, it also brought a new idea to mind.
Perhaps he could upgrade her ability using his Fate Points.
He wondered just how far he could push it.
Amon contemplated the thought for a while before Collete’s voice interrupted him once again.
"The drawing I drew when you arrived was about you because I thought you were going to die. However, you didn’t. I know you must have a way of surviving my inevitable visions."
Collete looked Amon directly in the eyes before trying to slide off the bed as she begged.
"Even if you can’t save everyone, at least save my paren..."
Amon quickly caught her before she could kneel.
Internally, he assessed the situation.
The only reason he hadn’t died yet was because he kept growing stronger.
It wasn’t something just anyone could replicate.
Amon thought about it in silence.
Collete watched him quietly, waiting for his reply.
She had long since realized Amon was far from ordinary after he’d survived her ability’s gaze.
She only hoped he truly had a way to save her parents.
If he couldn’t...
Collete didn’t know what to do anymore.
Perhaps it would be better for her to die too.
Amon also seemed to understand what was going through her mind.
However, he was far more curious about the true depths of the ability Collete possessed.
"Hey... Collete?"
"Yes?"
"How about increasing the rank of your ability?"
"Huh...?"
Collete was stunned by Amon’s question.
What did he mean by...
