Chapter 309: Chapter 307: The Plan (2)
Celeste Grant looked at Nerida and gestured with her hand. "Don’t just stand there. Sit down, let’s talk business."
Nerida agreed and sat down across from them.
With a wave of Celeste Grant’s hand, a stack of paper, brushes, and ink appeared on the table. It was time to officially begin planning.
"We only have half a year. There isn’t much time left. We need to confer and formulate a concrete plan. The Cultivators in the Cultivation World will be fine, as they all have some means of self-preservation. But we also have to consider the ordinary people in the Mortal Realm. We must do everything we can to ensure they all survive."
Nerida looked at Celeste Grant, filled with admiration. ’That’s our lady, all right,’ she thought. ’Beautiful inside and out. To think she’s even considering the ordinary people of the Mortal Realm.’
’The Immortal and Demonic Paths have always been enemies,’ Celeste Grant thought, ’but now is not the time for that.’ She spoke up, "The situation is dire. The Immortal and Demonic Paths must unite against this external threat. I have an idea: before the disaster arrives, we need to construct several large, underground shelters throughout the Cultivation World, specifically in areas bordering the Mortal Realm. We’ll need to set up defensive arrays both inside and out. These shelters will be for all the ordinary mortals, as well as the elderly, the weak, and the children in the Cultivation World who have no fighting ability."
Javier Sinclair had no objections. He rested his chin on his hand, propped up on the table, and quietly watched his wife speak.
’I’m a Demon Cultivator, a Demon—hardly a good person,’ he mused. ’I never thought I’d find myself sitting here, listening to a plan to save the world.’
’But if this is what my wife wants, then it’s what I want. I may not care about this world, but I care about her.’
As Celeste Grant, Javier Sinclair, and Nerida discussed, a written plan for the survival of the Cultivation World began to take shape.
By now, night had fallen.
The lanterns in the courtyard were lit.
Celeste Grant stood, straightened the pages of the plan, and handed the document to Nerida. "Go and make copies of this. I want everyone to have one for the meeting. And right, send a copy to each of the major powers among the Immortal Sects."
Nerida gave a slight nod. "Yes. I’ll go at once."
With that, she turned to leave, her figure quickly vanishing on the spot.
In the courtyard, Celeste Grant looked up at the night sky, her hands resting on the stone table. "I hope everything goes smoothly."
Javier Sinclair rose and walked to her side. Reaching out, he wrapped an arm around her and swept her into his arms.
"What’s there to be afraid of now? Come on, I’ll take you to the hot springs to relax."
He spoke as he carried her toward the hot spring in the rear courtyard.
Held in his embrace, Celeste Grant wrapped her arms around his neck and gazed up at Javier Sinclair’s handsome face. ’We’ve been married for so long, but our looks haven’t changed one bit.’
He lowered his head slightly, his voice a low whisper. "Celeste, I’ve missed you."
Celeste Grant’s face flushed, and she reached out to pinch his cheek. "Old Fiend Sinclair, can’t you be serious for once?"
He raised an eyebrow, his expression perfectly serious. "I’m thinking about my wife. Isn’t that a serious matter?" As he spoke, he planted a kiss on Celeste Grant’s cheek. Then, carrying her, he vanished from the courtyard.
In the steaming hot spring, Celeste Grant was draped over the cobblestone edge of the pool while Javier Sinclair, wearing an open black robe, massaged her back.
"Mmm, that’s nice... very relaxing. Husband, a little to the left."
"Hmph. You’re the only one who gets this kind of treatment from me."
’Here I am, the magnificent Demonic Sovereign,’ he thought, ’and I’ve spent countless hours giving her massages, rubbing her shoulders, and kneading her back.’ He was happy to do it, though. After all, he always found a way to get repaid for his efforts later.
After soaking for a while, Celeste Grant started to feel drowsy. But Javier Sinclair had no intention of letting her sleep. He leaned down in the water, kissing the nape of her neck as his arms wrapped around her waist.
"My lady, the night is long. Let’s do something... meaningful."
The corner of Celeste Grant’s mouth twitched as she turned to face him. His long hair was unbound, and his open robe revealed a solid chest. His face was slightly flushed from the heat, and his eyes, misty from the steam, were incredibly alluring.
She glanced down and saw a bead of water trickle from his neck, down over his chest, and lower still.
’This... he’s trying to seduce me.’
"So, what is it you want to do, Husband?"
Noticing her gaze, Javier Sinclair raised an eyebrow. He took her hand and placed it on his chest. "Like what you see?"
Celeste Grant nodded.
"Mhm, very nice."
"Do you like it?"
"Do you even have to ask? I love it."
’Right now,’ she thought, ’I’ll put the Outer Realms Race out of my mind. It’s time to enjoy a good meal first.’ A small smile played on her lips as her hand gently caressed his chest. She could hear his breathing grow heavy.
"Your abs are so firm, Archfiend."
"As long as you like them, my lady."
He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Kiss me."
She pressed a kiss to his neck, then tilted her head up, her lips brushing against his until they finally met. "Like this?" she murmured, looking up at him. "So tonight... should I call you ’Big Brother,’ ’Husband,’ or maybe... ’Uncle’?"
Alright.
He surrendered.
’Who could possibly resist this?’
"Heh! Then start with ’Big Brother’." Javier Sinclair had no problem with her switching things up.
Javier Sinclair gently cupped the back of her neck and lowered his head to kiss her. His large hand slid down her back to her waist, and he lifted her into his arms.
Amidst the SPLASHING of water... the two spent the night as one.
As for the common wisdom that it’s bad to soak in a hot spring for too long? That’s not a thing in the Cultivation World.
Celeste Grant could only say one thing: ’I’m loving this more and more.’
’I think about all those novels I used to read,’ she mused, ’the ones with the domineering princes and CEOs who’d start choking and slapping people at the drop of a hat. I wouldn’t take a man like that even if he came gift-wrapped. If you’re going to find a husband, find one like the Archfiend. He can be ruthless, but he directs that ruthlessness outward, where it belongs. He gives his wife absolute respect, he never blindly trusts rumors, and he’s a proper father to his children.’
’This lifetime, he’s the one for me.’
「Meanwhile.」
The seven great powers of the Immortal Sects, led by the Primal Heaven Sect, had also received a prophecy from the Heavenly Dao. They learned that in six months, the Cultivation World would be invaded by the Outer Realms Race and would face a great catastrophe.
That very night, the Seven Great Celestial Sects convened an emergency meeting to discuss countermeasures.
They had assumed their Immortal Sects were the first to learn of the matter, but early the next morning, the Seven Great Celestial Sects received a delivery from the Demonic Sects.
It was the plan formulated by Celeste Grant.
The title read: A Plan for the Survival of the Cultivation World.
The elders and Sect Leaders of the Seven Great Celestial Sects were stunned as they read through it. They hadn’t expected to receive something like this first thing in the morning. The points were laid out with perfect clarity; it was a truly vital plan for the survival of the Cultivation World. It even included plans for post-disaster reconstruction.
"What are your thoughts on this?"
"The plan itself is sound—in fact, it’s incredibly detailed. It covers personnel allocation, pre-disaster deployments, and even post-disaster reconstruction. If we follow this, we already have a solid framework to guide us."
"Who wrote this?"
"It’s written right there, isn’t it? Signed, Celeste Grant."
Even the elders of the Seven Great Celestial Sects couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration. "This woman... she’s really something else."
