Chapter 343: I Am Arceus’s Dad (Two-in-One)
Charizard turned and stared at Rio. Though Rio couldn’t understand its roar, their long time together allowed him to grasp its meaning. He nodded and said with even more conviction:
"That’s right — believe in yourself. Believe that you, Charizard, can join battles like this, and even defeat them. Because you’ve always been the Pokémon I believe in most."
[Charizard’s friendship has increased]
[Friendship: 154 (-25 → 154) ]
Excellent — just one more point... Rio’s face lit up with joy.
"Roooar~" — Thank you. I’ll stay true to my original goal — to stand with you at the end.
Charizard roared.
"Charizard, you have to believe in yourself. You can do it." Rio pressed on, continuing to encourage.
Charizard nodded, its spirits high — even spitting purple flames in its excitement. But that final friendship point still didn’t trigger.
"Charizard, you’re the best! One day, you’ll beat Dialga and kick Palkia — none of them will be able to stand against you!" Rio added.
"Roooar~" — Yes, yes — I’ll definitely do it!
Charizard roared again in excitement — but the friendship notification still didn’t come.

Rio raised an eyebrow. It seemed flattery and encouragement had hit their limit with Charizard at 154 points. More praise wasn’t going to work.
He turned his attention to the battles — Mewtwo vs Palkia, and Gengar vs Dialga. Mewtwo hadn’t Mega Evolved yet, fighting in its base form against Palkia. They seemed evenly matched, but after watching a while, it was clear Palkia had the edge. A two-level gap wasn’t easy to overcome.
The battle between Gengar and Dialga felt less like a fight and more like a madman seeking answers — and that madman was Dialga. It was desperately trying to figure out how a Gengar could wield its divine move, a power Arceus had granted it at creation.
"Dialga!!!" — Tell me, what is your relationship with Arceus? Why did it give you the essence of time?!
Dialga fought while interrogating Gengar. It had to know the truth.
"Gengar~" — Actually, I’m its dad.
Old Ghost replied while throwing Shadow Balls. But the moment it said that, Dialga was utterly shocked.
"Dialga!!!" — What?! Say that again — what’s your relationship with it?!
It was so stunned it took the Shadow Ball head-on.
"Palkia!!!" — What?! Gengar, repeat that — what’s your relationship with Arceus?!
Even Palkia, mid-battle with Mewtwo, was startled. It turned to stare at Gengar in disbelief, even taking an Aura Sphere from Mewtwo without flinching.
The only one who didn’t understand was Rio. Both his translators were busy fighting, and Charizard couldn’t use telepathy. All he could do was watch in confusion as Dialga and Palkia stared at Gengar in shock, ignoring the hits they took.
Then he saw the two gods’ expressions shift from relief to shock again.
"Gengar~" — Sorry, my mistake. Correction: I’m not its dad.
The correction made Dialga and Palkia breathe a sigh of relief. Of course — a Gengar couldn’t possibly be Arceus’s father. That would be the world turned upside down. If it were true, they’d kneel before it without hesitation — along with that other guy in the Distortion World.
"Gengar~" — Though I’m not its dad... it’s my dad.
Dialga and Palkia’s relief vanished instantly.
"Dialga!!!" — Arceus is your dad?!
"Palkia!!!" — Arceus is your dad?!
They both asked at once, exchanging glances. If Arceus was its father, then what did that make them? Were they all from the same origin? That would explain why Gengar could use time power. But then why would Arceus create a Gengar? Gengar species had naturally evolved after the creation of the world.
Old Ghost burst into laughter at their reactions.
"Gengar~" — You’re so dumb. You believe everything I say? If I said I was your dad, would you believe that too?
Palkia: "..."
Dialga: "..."
Mewtwo: "You’re both so naive. Why do you believe everything it says? If that’s the case, I, Mewtwo, am technically your uncle. Come on, call me Uncle."

Dialga and Palkia’s faces twisted in unison. Without a second thought, they unleashed their divine moves — Spacial Rend and Roar of Time. They were furious, ready to fight to the death. Mewtwo countered with Psystrike, while Gengar responded with Roar of Time. Back and forth they went, clashing for nearly half an hour, causing the dimension to ripple with instability.
In a world completely inverted from reality, a giant centipede was jolted awake from its slumber. It watched black toxic mist rising in its world, anger growing on its face.
"Giratina!!!" — Damn Palkia! Damn Dialga! This is definitely your doing! I’ve worked so hard to maintain my home, and you’re letting pollution pour in?!
"Giratina!!!" — Fine. Just wait — I, Giratina, will remember this. Don’t you dare come out of your worlds, or I’ll beat you both to a pulp!
The giant centipede trembled with rage, spinning circles around the rising black mist.
Back in the dimension, Mewtwo, starting to feel the disadvantage against Palkia, decided to change tactics.
"Space God Palkia, you’re quite strong — you’ve earned my recognition. Now, I’ll show you my true power." Mewtwo caught a Water Pulse and spoke coldly.
"Palkia!!!" — This ’Mewtwo’ dares to act so high and mighty? ’Earned your recognition’? Do you even know who I am? I am Palkia, the Space God — the greatest Pokémon in the world! How dare you say I’ve earned your recognition?! And ’show me your true power’? Don’t make me laugh!
Palkia was furious. This Pokémon that had wandered in with a human was outrageously arrogant — thinking it was something special just because it had some skill.
But its anger lasted only two seconds — it froze as it saw Mewtwo engulfed in evolution light.
"Palkia!!!" — What is this?! How can it evolve further?!
Moments later, Mewtwo’s form shifted — becoming smaller and more infant-like, with an enlarged head and headphone-like protrusions.
"Palkia — feel my true power! Witness the Psychic God!" Mewtwo raised its right hand, gathering immense psychic energy. The sphere grew to basketball size, then a meter wide, before it hurled it.
Palkia scoffed. "Palkia!!!" — Psychic God? So what if you’ve grown bigger? You’re still no match for me!
Palkia swung its right arm, unleashing Spacial Rend. But this time, the result defied its expectations. Its Spacial Rend clashed with Mewtwo’s Psystrike — and while the impact was violent, the Psystrike didn’t dissipate. It pushed through, and Palkia’s Spacial Rend faded. The Psystrike struck Palkia, sending it flying with a pained cry.
"Palkia!!!" — How is this possible?!
"Nothing is impossible. From now on, you cannot match me." Mewtwo Teleported above Palkia and unleashed Psycho Cut — three massive psychic blades striking down. Palkia used Aqua Tail, sweeping to block them. It succeeded — but was immediately hit by three consecutive Aura Spheres, forcing it back.
"What now — do you still think I was bluffing?" Mewtwo’s voice echoed.
Palkia glared back, seething. It understood now — this Pokémon could Mega Evolve. It had that ability too, but not through Mega Evolution. It was Origin Forme — returning to the form Arceus created. But to access it, it needed an item stored in the real world to stabilize reality. Dialga was the same.
Mewtwo began gathering another Psystrike. Palkia’s pupils shrank as it roared: "Palkia!!!" — I admit you’re strong, but you’re only winning because I’m not at full power! If I were at my peak, you’d never defeat me!
Mewtwo paused, mid-throw. "This isn’t your full power?"
"Palkia!!!" — At my peak, you wouldn’t stand a chance!
"Then show me your full power. Fight me at your best." Mewtwo didn’t just want to win — it wanted to fight the strongest and overcome them.
"Palkia!!!" — I can’t right now. My full form requires me to enter the real world.
Perhaps fearing Mewtwo wouldn’t believe it, Palkia added: "Dialga’s the same — not at full power. To reach it, we need to enter the real world."
Mewtwo glanced at Dialga and Gengar’s battlefield. They were evenly matched, neither gaining the upper hand — their strongest moves were both Roar of Time. It was a deadlock.

Hearing Palkia, Dialga roared in agreement: "Dialga!!!" — That’s right! You’re taking advantage of us! If we were at full power, you wouldn’t stand a chance! Especially you, little Gengar — even in a Roar of Time clash, you’d lose! I’d show you what true time power looks like!
"Gengar~" — I don’t care about your full power. If you can’t beat me now, you’re pathetic.
Gengar didn’t care about Dialga’s excuses — if it was evenly matched now, that made Gengar strong. But Mewtwo disagreed — it wanted to fight the strongest.
"Fine. Let them enter their so-called ’full power.’ I’ll give you that chance, Palkia." Mewtwo stopped fighting and looked down at Palkia.
"Palkia!!!" — You’ll regret this!
"I never regret anything." Mewtwo smirked.
"Palkia!!!" — Fine. You’ve got guts. I’ll show you my real power!
Palkia swung its right arm, tearing a rift in the dimension and charging through. Dialga followed suit, using Roar of Time to break through. Gengar tried to stop them, but Mewtwo held it back.
"Let them go. Fighting them at full strength will better prove our power." Mewtwo said confidently.
Rio, watching Dialga and Palkia tear through space and leave, was completely confused.
"What just happened? Why did they leave?" Rio flew over on Charizard.
Mewtwo translated the conversation. Rio: "..."
