Chapter 342: Four-God Battle (Two-in-One)
Dialga used Draco Meteor — explosive, scorching meteors raining down on Palkia. Under its use, the move was like a machine-gun Seed Bomb, each meteor firing in rapid succession, an impressive display of power.
But Palkia wasn’t about to be a punching bag. While Dialga was unleashing Draco Meteor, it gathered another Aura Sphere. When it threw the sphere, Draco Meteor struck it, forcing it back — but Dialga, having just used Draco Meteor, had no time to dodge the Aura Sphere. Both took damage from the exchange.
After this mutual blow, Palkia’s fury grew. It roared in anger, and pink starlight began gathering around its right arm.
Oh, this is getting serious — it’s about to use its divine move, Spacial Rend... Rio watched from a distance, his pupils shrinking.
As he stared, Palkia swung its right arm, unleashing a pink energy blade that could tear through space itself. Dialga was startled and immediately used Protect, straining to withstand Spacial Rend. When it finally held, Dialga was furious. The blue orb on its chest glowed, and a section of its neck expanded. It threw its head back and roared, gathering Roar of Time in its mouth to strike back.
Palkia twisted its body, using the orb on its left arm to tank the attack. The impact shook the entire dimension, sending countless Unown fleeing in panic. Watching from afar, Rio felt that without Mewtwo and Gengar shielding him, the shockwave alone might have killed him.
When the attack subsided, Dialga’s expression shifted — it had shattered the orb on Palkia’s left arm. The once-glowing orb was now covered in cracks that spread rapidly until it shattered completely.
"Palkia!!!" Palkia roared in fury at Dialga.
"What did Palkia say?" Rio turned to his two translators.
"It said: ’Dialga, you’re asking for death! I held back, and you go for a killing blow? Fine — this is to the death!’" Old Ghost, the first translator, translated immediately.
"That’s correct." Mewtwo nodded in agreement.
"Dialga!!!" Dialga roared back, then spat a Flamethrower.

"Dialga said: ’You started it with Spacial Rend!’" Mewtwo translated first.
"Correct." Old Ghost nodded.
As they translated, Palkia spread the wings on its back, dodging Dialga’s Flamethrower and flying from the west side of the battlefield to the east, firing an Aura Sphere.
The two gods continued their battle, growing more intense with each exchange, the shockwaves spreading wider — right toward Rio’s position. One of Palkia’s Power Gems, meant for Dialga, missed and flew straight at Rio. Mewtwo naturally countered with an Aura Sphere.
That single Aura Sphere — used to deflect the Power Gem — drew the attention of both Dialga and Palkia to Mewtwo, and to Rio and Gengar beside it.
"Palkia!!!" — A human? How is there a human here?!
"Dialga!!!" — And these two Pokémon!
Dialga and Palkia exchanged glances, both equally shocked. This was the first time any other being had appeared in their world. Unbelievable.
"Human, how did you get here?" Palkia’s voice echoed in Rio’s mind.
"Human, tell us how you got here, or I, the Time God, will destroy you right now!" Dialga’s voice followed.
Rio frowned at the two murderous gods. His instincts told him that whether he answered or not, they would probably kill him anyway — these two wouldn’t care about human lives. If they were angry, they’d kill without a second thought.
"We followed the Unown in here. We’re looking for a way out. If you two want to keep fighting, go ahead — we won’t interfere." Rio told the truth.
His words made Dialga and Palkia exchange another glance.
"Don’t bother leaving. Anyone who enters my world is already dead." Palkia’s voice echoed, followed by a pink Aura Sphere hurled at Rio.
Mewtwo stepped forward to intercept, throwing a black Aura Sphere. The two spheres clashed, evenly matched. Palkia’s eyes widened — it could accept Dialga blocking its attack, but an unknown Pokémon? Unacceptable.
"Dialga!!!" — Palkia, you’re pathetic! Can’t even handle a stray Pokémon? Watch and learn!
Dialga mocked Palkia, then gathered Dragon Breath and spat it.
"Gengar~" — You’re not much better.
Gengar stepped forward, throwing a Shadow Ball that met the Dragon Breath — again, evenly matched. Now Dialga’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"Palkia!!!" — Hmph, compared to me, Dialga, you’re even more useless! A Gengar blocked your attack!
Palkia’s mockery echoed. Dialga shot it a glare.
"Gengar~" — Alright, enough. You’re both pathetic. Stop mocking each other.

Gengar cackled. There was a time when it could only hear of the Time and Space gods as legends to be revered. Now, standing before them, they seemed... unimpressive.
"Palkia!!!" — How dare you mock us!
Enraged by Gengar’s taunt, Palkia exchanged a look with Dialga. The two longtime rivals silently agreed on a new strategy: deal with this human and his Pokémon first — then resume their fight.
Palkia’s arm orb glowed as it swung its arm, unleashing Spacial Rend at Mewtwo. Dialga’s chest orb glowed as it gathered Roar of Time — aimed at Gengar.
Facing the two gods’ attacks, Mewtwo responded with its own divine move — Psystrike. It raised its right hand, gathering immense psychic power.
Gengar, meanwhile, cackled as it gathered its own Roar of Time — aimed right back at Dialga. Dialga’s eyes nearly popped out, and even Palkia, mid-attack, stared in disbelief. A Gengar was using Dialga’s signature move?
Fake. It has to be fake. There’s no way a Gengar can use my Roar of Time... Dialga thought, then spat its Roar of Time. At the same moment, Gengar released its. The two Roar of Time collided, creating a shockwave far more powerful than any from Dialga and Palkia’s earlier exchanges.
On the other side, Mewtwo’s Psystrike met Palkia’s Spacial Rend — another clash of divine moves, unleashing a terrifying shockwave that merged with Gengar’s, partially neutralizing but still shaking the dimension violently.
Across Sinnoh, tremors began. Spatial rifts appeared in the skies above various cities — like torn gashes in the fabric of reality.
"What’s happening?! What’s wrong with the sky?!" Cynthia, who had been training to challenge the Sinnoh Elite Four, stared at the sky in horror.
"Rio, I might not be able to protect you anymore. This opponent’s power is nothing to scoff at — I can’t fight at full strength while watching out for you." Mewtwo’s voice echoed in Rio’s mind. The earlier divine-move clash had not only shocked Palkia and Dialga — it had also fired up Mewtwo. This was the kind of battle it craved. The fight against Rayquaza had been too frustrating — even with Mega Evolution, it had been overpowered.
"I understand." Rio knew exactly what Mewtwo meant — in plain terms, he was dead weight. So he released Charizard.
"Go. Fight Palkia with everything you’ve got." Rio waved.
Mewtwo flew toward Palkia, two Aura Spheres forming in its palms. Meanwhile, Gengar had already engaged Dialga in close combat.
"Charizard, move in closer." Rio patted Charizard’s neck. He still hadn’t seen Dialga and Palkia’s level information — they’d been too far away. Now was the time.
Charizard flew toward Dialga’s battlefield, and soon Rio could see Dialga’s level.

"Same level as Lugia and Ho-Oh. Capturing them shouldn’t be a problem." Rio smiled. That was, of course, assuming Dialga didn’t enter Origin Forme. In that form, it would be just as strong as Mega Rayquaza.
He patted Charizard’s back and pointed toward Palkia. Charizard understood and flew closer. Rio soon saw Palkia’s level — same as Dialga, level 90. Nothing else different.
The two battlefields were locked in fierce combat. Unown scattered in panic everywhere. Charizard watched the intense battle and felt restless. Rio understood its feelings. As his first Pokémon, Charizard had been his mainstay. He wouldn’t be where he was today without it. But ever since he became Champion and encountered more powerful legendaries, Charizard’s anxiety had grown — especially after Old Ghost rejoined with its third-level friendship, and Mewtwo was captured. High-level battles were left to them; Charizard couldn’t keep up. At first, it could accept that — Old Ghost was centuries old, and Mewtwo was just powerful. But when Greninja unlocked three levels of friendship in Sinnoh and became stronger than even Gengar, Charizard couldn’t take it anymore. It trained relentlessly at Mt. Silver, becoming the mountain’s overlord, raising its base level to 74 through its own effort. With Mega Evolution, it reached 84. But even that wasn’t enough for guardian-level battles — unless it unlocked its third friendship level.
Charizard’s current friendship was 153 — just two points away from unlocking the third level.
"Charizard, believe in yourself. You’ll be able to join battles like this soon." Rio patted its neck encouragingly.
Charizard turned, fully aware of Rio’s encouragement. Rio smiled: "Even if you don’t believe in yourself, believe that I believe in you. At worst, a month from now. At best..."
"Roooar~" — At best?
Charizard pressed.
"At best, it could be an hour from now. Or half an hour. Or a minute. As long as you want it."
