Chapter 108: Fighting Against Gangsters
Either way, she had to be ready.
One thing was for certain, however: If the situation gets dangerous, she’d have to use her abilities.
Which meant that all witnesses on the other side would have to die.
The gangsters stepped forward to ’check’ her and her body as well, but she avoided their touch by stepping inside. She wanted to detach those hands from their arms, but she didn’t want to startle them yet, so she didn’t do anything.
Everyone had firearms. Even she wasn’t immune to that, let alone the twins.
As she entered, Naia also studied the inside of the warehouse. It was dusty, and everything metallic was showing signs of rust. There were also a handful more men, all gruff and arrogant, and all with guns in their hands.
Seeing the guns pretty much confirmed this was that family’s doing, and that her poor cousins were literally caught in the crossfire.
Her cousins were currently splayed on the floor. They were filled with bruises and a bit of blood, and the only relief was their clothes were intact. If even their dignity was harmed, even if she rescued them, it’d be hard to erase the psychological marks.
Naia’s eyes reddened as she went to them. "I’m sorry," she said, and the two shook their heads. Rather, they looked guilty that she went to them at all.
"You saved our lives before, this is nothin’..." Linlin said, with a bit of a lisp because of her injured lips. Hans nodded, though his eyes were twitching since every movement was painful.
"You...shunt hav...come..." he managed to utter.
"No, you’re family. I will always come."
Their conversation was cut off by someone clapping his hands. "What a touching reunion," he said, and she recognized him as the person who called her.
Naia frowned and looked at them while shielding her cousins. Using her ability, she confirmed the exact number of people around her as well as their locations.
She then signalled the twins to crawl back, have their backs against the wall. When she finds the chance, she’d take them into her space.
To the gangster’s eyes, this just looked like children backing away in fear, and did not think much.
"I don’t have a hundred million anymore," she said.
"Pity," the gangster said, opening his phone and looking as if he were taking videos of her. "Well, you can earn that elsewhere. Like with your body," he said, licking his lips. "This option is more fun, to be honest."
Naia sneered. "Did Ginna say that? You know they’re poor now, right? Houser’s assets are frozen, and the company’s funds aren’t liquid. The money they gave me was half from loans."
The arrogant smirk on the man’s face faded a bit, but he schooled his expression. He stepped forward and grabbed her hair. Her cousins flinched and were restless, but she signalled them to stop with her hand behind her back.
The man, for now, simply disliked her talking back and even getting under his skin.
"Well, aren’t you the witty one," he said, continuously taking a video of her. "Well, as a sideline, I’m sure your fate in five minutes would be very popular on the dark web anyway.
"My men had been looking at you with so much hunger, I can’t help but want to feed them. What a good boss I am, right?"
Everyone accepted this side job with a smile. They happened to be nearby, the promises were not small, and the job itself seemed easy.
What’s more, when they saw the girl’s photo, their lower bodies became so active they wanted to rush to her immediately.
Going through with the plan was indicative of their self-control!
Naia did not falter under their lecherous stares. "How much did she pay you? Is it worth it?"
"Hmn. Our bosses want to know more about you as well. They just allowed us to have fun first."
"Then let me know what your gang name is, at least."
"We’re part of a big Gang called the Red Gang. Scary, right? You must’ve heard about us."
Naia did not say anything else, but internally, she was indeed a bit anxious.
It seemed like she got the attention of the Red Gang in the end.
However, as for what capacity they knew her for—whether she was just Houser’s pretty daughter or someone who had ruined their plans—remained unknown.
"Hmmm. Not really."
She looked coldly at him and then at the men. By this time, the two door guards had also come in, closing the door, no doubt thinking they were about to join the fun.
Join the fun indeed.
Now that the warehouse was closed, she reckoned it was time to move.
She first made sure there were no other cameras there before placing the ’dark web’ camera into her space. Before the gangsters could react, she also placed the twins inside the space as well.
She didn’t need to touch most things to place them inside her space. There were a few exemptions, like humans as well as other high-energy things, but something like a small phone was effortless.
"WHA—"
The gangsters gaped for a few seconds, their already-tiny brains trying to make sense of what they had seen. Their initial thought would be some tricks and illusions, but either way, it sent alarm bells inside their heads.
They might only have peripheral positions in the Red Gang, but the gang didn’t just take in anyone—every member had some talent in survival.
Naia knew this. So when they all raised their guns to point at Naia, she immediately grabbed the leader’s hand and pulled him over with surprising strength.
With a few moves, she turned him over so he was facing his men instead of her. Naia then deftly took the gun. This all happened in the span of two seconds.
And then, without another word, she used the man’s hand and fired continuous shots without another word.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Those bastards would never see the light of day after that.
