Chapter 109: Mass Kills

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The men gasped. Several were hit directly, and they began shooting as well. Because Naia was using the leader’s fingers to shoot, her accuracy was limited. Otherwise, these bastards would’ve been hit with more lethal shots earlier on.

They were lucky (or unlucky) that she wanted to minimize her involvement here, so their pitiful lives were extended by a couple of minutes.

Spider, the leader, screamed for them to stop, but it was too late. Further, these men had always been trigger-ready. With three of them shot down after the first few seconds, how could their bodies not react?

BANG! BANG!

"AHHH!"

"STOP IT! STOP IT–!"

The leader’s body shook as he watched all his men get shot with what he thought was monstrous accuracy. Some of them didn’t even have the time to pull their own triggers!

Useless!

And the few that managed to make shots? They all hit him, their leader, instead!

One was a very good shot. He managed to react fast enough, shooting at the girk. This one was one of the best shots in their team, so the leader didn’t fear he’d be accidentally shot instead.

However, for some reason, none of the bullets that should’ve hit the girl actually hit her! Rather, Spider somewhat felt like the bullets...disappeared!

Spider was already shivering from pain, and a few bullets had already buried inside his body. At the back of his mind, he seemed to recall the disappearance of the phone and the two hostages. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

He shivered. Not just from pain, but from fear.

It seemed like they encountered a true monster this time!

He didn’t have time to think too much. Many of his gang members turned into idiots after being shot at by the girl. The more pain they felt, the crazier they became.

And because the girl hit their legs, none of them could run away either. Most couldn’t even go to find covers. Even if they managed to find covers—for example, behind old crates and tables—the men had already been hit and bleeding.

Spider was already dizzy from the blood loss, no longer having the strength to fight against the woman behind him. He could only feel more and more bullets piercing his body!

BANG BANG! BANG!

Spider’s eyes were wide in disbelief, then he shakily turned to the young woman who didn’t have a care in the world. As if the rain of bullets didn’t faze her at all.

He couldn’t see her state clearly since she was behind him, but his instincts told him that none of that hail of bullets had hit her!

Meanwhile, he, the leader, was already bleeding to death!!

He used his remaining strength to break free from the woman’s hold, and he fell down on the ground. This exposed the woman to the hail of bullets.

"SHOOT HER! SHOOT HER!!" he screamed. Of course, without his instructions, the remaining handful of people still shooting—despite bleeding from several bullet holes as well—

Unexpectedly, a massive rock appeared in front of her, shielding her entire body!

!!!!

?!?!??!

...

Sweat dripped down Naia’s head, but she maintained her cool.

Contrary to her appearance, what she was doing was not easy.

In fact, she had been grazed in several places already. It wasn’t that bullets hadn’t reached her at all. She just followed her instinct to avoid the debilitating shots or get hit in sensitive places.

At the very least, she managed to prevent bullets from embedding into her body, but many of them still passed through and created various wounds all over.

Bullets were considered high-energy items. Moving items, even if they were inanimate, were difficult to place in her space. She couldn’t magically wave her hand and place them in her space—at least not yet.

Fortunately, the enemies had been incapacitated, so they’d struggle to find a good angle to shoot her with.

She heard some of the gunshots stop. They were either recovering energy or had just lost strength. Naia, on the other hand, took out her gloves and grabbed the leader’s gun.

She climbed up the large rock, out of the men’s line of sight, and then started shooting again.

...

BANG! BANG!

BANG!

This time, Naia easily shot the rest to death. Some she hit on the head, others at the heart. She also showered those who had fallen down earlier, just in case.

Spider was the last one to go out, and Naia did this on purpose. She wanted him to feel true helplessness.

A person like him would’ve caused a lot of similar things to innocents. It was only right that he went through the same thing.

A few minutes later, only Naia was moving. She placed the rock back to her space and went over the corpses, making sure that none of them were alive.

She didn’t bother checking their phones and the like. The police would handle that. If she showed herself too much, it wouldn’t bring her any good.

Instead, she went into her space to see the twins. She was genuinely worried that they had been traumatized by the event.

It was just that when she arrived, she saw Glen and Gale were touring the twins around. They were going around the forest area, with Gale even showing where the wild berries and wild pears were.

The atmosphere was quite leisurely.

"..."

She worried too much.

They adjusted very well. They seemed to have refused first aid, as well, prioritizing going around the space. Did they forget they had very blue bruises on their bodies? Not afraid of internal injuries??

It turned out: They really weren’t.

When they saw her arrive, the two pretty much hopped to her direction. They completely forgot they were in pain, almost falling down on their faces when their knees gave way. Glen reacted quickly and held the two by their clothes.

Naia shook her head and walked over, and the two gushed out compliments as soon as she was near.

"SIS! THIS PLACE IS SO AWESOME!"

"Can I live here?"

"That largest one is your house right? Can I choose my room?" Hans asked, pointing at the villa at the edge of the accommodation zone.

They were teenagers who had always found the concept of magic spaces fascinating. They already knew Naia had a space, but not a living one! If their bodies weren’t painful as heck, it was estimated they’d have gone into the forest already!

"Does the space have a preservation function? Like, those with time stops so food won’t rot and we can eat ice cream any time."

"Does time change inside? So crops grow faster inside?"

"What about both?"

"Time static and time forward? In the same space? Those are opposing functions, aren’t they?"

"But in books..."

"Stop depending on those books," Naia said, rolling her eyes. "How could there be such a good thing?"

"Oh..."

"Oh..."

The two sounded a bit disappointed, but then they absorbed the fact that a magic space really existed and they saw it at work! The enthusiasm blazed again.

Naia chuckled. "But...there are similar functions."

!!!!

Naia smiled and stared at their reaction. She did have a time stasis area.

On the other hand, while she did not have a ’fast-forward’ area, her space did passively promote faster growth, purely because of the innate energy inside.

"I’ll tell you more if you can land a hit on me when we spar."

"..."

...

While the two rested, Naia went out of the space to call the police, directly calling Luke. Fortunately, she had photographic memory so she remembered Luke’s number.

As she made the report, she activated her pitiful act again this time. She told him about how he was contacted when he arrived at Lotus Town, indicating someone had been waiting for her to return.

She mentioned where they were, what time they had been there, and how many enemies they were.

Luke and the other officers were very shocked to find out the men were dead. They were even more baffled when they heard how they died.

"Yes, officer," she said, voice shaking. "They killed each other! We’re fine. It’s a miracle, but please come fetch us."

She hung up the phone and the previously ’scared’ girl turned lackadaisical again, as if she didn’t just perform a massacre five minutes prior.

After this, she pulled the twins out of the space and they screamed when they saw all the blood. However, they calmed down after several moments. They even stared at the corpses on purpose to ’train’ their minds.

Naia didn’t treat their wounds yet. When the police arrived, how would they explain it?

Even if she wanted to, she could actually perform some basic first aid.

Within the compound, she had allocated a room to serve as a clinic of sorts.

The units had already been furnished even before she transferred them into her space, and the rest of the items to set up were handled by Gale and Glen.

Anyway, for now, the twins would have to endure a bit.

Fortunately, Luke did not delay. They really arrived at the fastest time they could.
