Chapter 39: 39: Follow the Female’s Lead.
They detested the scent. So immediately they perceived it, they slowly pulled backwards.
The beastmen were shocked to see these monsters pull away as if they were scared of something. Soon, they had immediately ran off and disappeared into the woods without a sign. They were gone.
"..." The beastmen stood there staring around in shock.
"What just happened?"
"Did they just run away?"
"Why?" One sniffed. "That scent..." They sniffed while looking around to know where it came from.
Rai smiled. "Ayra’s magical scent did it! It sent them right away," he was marveled.
Ayra slowly got up, leaving the bottle there. It had already served its purpose. She smiled as she folded her arms. "I guess it came in handy."
Lord Ash and Commander Lynn approached closer, staring down at the bottle, impressed. "How did you even come up with that?" Lord Ash raised an eyebrow. "What even is that?"
"It’s a secret potion I made," she smiled as she stared up at the other beastmen who slowly began gathering.
Soon, everyone was staring down at the bottle like a fascinating magical antique. The beastmen were completely shocked. They couldn’t believe their eyes.
"She really did send them away..."
"How did she come up with it..?"
They were doubting the rumors of the female taking down a monster and hating on the female a while back behind her back. And now she had proved herself again. Now they had no words because she had literally saved their ass.
"If you hadn’t done this, I guess our ass would have been kicked," Rai smiled. "We should all be grateful to her, don’t you think so? Huh?" He stared at the beastmen who were looking down at her.
They went quiet as they simply stared at the bottle.
Ayra smiled as she walked up to them. They stared at her, surprised as they pulled back. They wondered what she was up to now.
"They don’t have to be grateful or expect it," she smiled as she took the bleeding hand of one of them. The beastman twitched at her touch. He wanted to pull away, but her hands were soft and gentle.
He couldn’t stop himself from letting himself be held by her as Ayra gently ran her hands through the sides of his injury. "As long as they’re safe and fine... That’s okay..." she smiled.
Soon, his injuries healed. The rest gasped and stared in shock. She went to the next and took his hand and did the same and the next. Soothing and healing all of them until they were better. "It’s better than waiting for the berserk level to go high, don’t you think so?"
She smiled at them. And immediately, all of them felt pulled in. They couldn’t explain but they felt wrong in all aspects.
First, they came to realize that they might actually be wrong about her. Maybe the same female they had heard about wasn’t this anymore. Maybe she had really changed.
Because the old vicious female would never help them like this. And she wouldn’t speak so kindly and gently enough to tug their heartstrings. They could only stare in shock and admiration of the female standing before them.
Some suddenly felt ashamed of looking down on her. And now, they couldn’t help but stare at her face closely. Because they didn’t know if it was their eyes or was she just looking prettier and cuter.
"That will do," Ayra said as she was done. "Be careful next time," she smiled at them again, sending their hearts fluttering.

Ayra guessed she wasn’t getting that beauty stat improvement anytime soon. Damn.

[Black Wolf: + 5 = 35%]
[Fox: + 5 = 10%]
Ayra sighed. She literally had twenty percent more to go for the fox if she wanted to have a smooth pregnancy and birth.
Ayra turned to them. "Enough of the talks, let’s get down to business. So where is the zone?" She explained. "With the scent from this bottle on us, no monster will approach us in the meantime since they detest the scent."
"But we have to hurry up, the scent might fade in four hours or so. So we should get the business done before then."
Lord Ash stepped forward. "That should be enough time for us," he said as he led the way. "Follow me," he said as he turned to Ayra. "You should come in front."
Ayra smiled. "Sure."

Ayra wasn’t the best farm girl at all. But with the help of her system, she was able to be useful here.
These beastmen only followed their intuition in gathering meals and stuff. They weren’t so strategic about it, they didn’t even think much.
But the system had granted Ayra some cheat. It helped her track down where to pick up better fruits, yams, potatoes and the likes. It wasn’t much as the land was already getting contaminated, but they were able to gather a decent amount at the early stage.
All they did was follow Ayra’s instructions.
"Over there, let’s look there," Ayra would recommend after her system suggested the spot. And the beastmen would go and check.
At first they’d be skeptical. "It doesn’t look like anything edible could be there," one would say.
"Yes, it looks like wild grass and weeds," another said.
But then they’d end up finding lots of fresh and nice vegetables sitting there comfortably.
"..."
Next time, they stopped doubting her and simply followed her instructions. They gathered a decent amount of edibles there and then decided to proceed deeper.
On their way, they caught sight of five deer enjoying some grass. Immediately, the beastmen set their weapons to attack. They could sense that it wasn’t a wild beast but a normal animal which makes it better to catch and eat as meat.
But Ayra stared closely and then said, "Don’t chase it."
