Chapter 489: The Realization Test!

After the 4 battles and all 4 losses, Sebastian was now close to what an ideal Leviathon should be more than ever before.

Bzzz!

Once again, he was teleported away by his senior for his last battle of the battle test but unlike previous times, Sebastian didn’t appear in the new territory where he would fight his last Red tier predator immediately.

Instead, he felt his consciousness leaving his body again while he was still experiencing the feeling of being stuck inside a teleportation portal.

With a soft humming sound, his consciousness left his body again back inside the world of white where his Senior Trinidad was already waiting.

On arriving here, Sebastian saw the massive Leviathon in a posture that looked like he was staring into the future with 2 of his limbs behind his back in a sage-like manner filled with boundless wisdom and insight.

"Young Sebastian, you have fought 4 admirable battles".

"Though you lost all of them, I’m impressed by how much you improved".

After saying this, Trinidad turned to look Sebastian in the eye. "The last battle of the battle test means a lot more than I initially let on".

"From statistics that were written out after years of evolution of our race, it was discovered that the outcome of the last battle test usually determines how far most of my siblings go with fulfilling the potentials of our bloodline".

"This is why the last battle of the battle test is classified as another test entirely, the last battle is classified as the realization test".

"The realization test is the most important of all the tests".

"Whereas the swimming test focuses on your mentality, and the battle test focuses on tapping into the powers of that mentality, the realization test is all about knowing who you are and knowing what you are capable of".

"With this test, you have to know what you are, why you are who you are, and the need to be who you are at your greatest".

"I told you previously that you don’t do things like a Leviathon, the realization test is the last test to see how much you’ve internalized all my lessons so far".

"Once you complete this test successfully, you’ll become a real Leviathon".

"Remember this tip, becoming a real Leviathon entails knowing and unlocking our instinctual reactions to danger, our instinctual reactions to seeing prey, and our very perception of life itself".

"Begin by seeing life from the lens of a Leviathon".

That was the last word from the massive Leviathon before he waved a hand at Sebastian, but Sebastian didn’t leave immediately though as the words from Trinidad kept on ringing in his head in the form of echoes.

After the words were repeated 5 times, Sebastian remembered something, precisely, a movie that he watched back on earth called ’My Octopus Teacher’.

This was the story of a diver who got extremely close to nature through a wild octopus. This diver visited the octopus daily, he learned the habits of the octopus and studied it so much that with time, he started thinking like an octopus.

While sleeping, he dreamt of the octopus, a large part of his life became dominated by thoughts of meeting the octopus.

For some reason, Trinidad’s words connected Sebastian back to this movie. He could still vividly remember most details of this movie, most especially the intelligent octopus and the myriad ways that it employed to survive the wild.

The octopus in the movie knew who he was, he realized that he was an octopus from birth and already adapted to making use of all the strategies experimented with and perfected by his ancestors.

As a Leviathon now, Sebastian felt similar to the octopus. He was a Space Beast now, he had access to all the knowledge and strategies of Leviathons in his head, at least that was what he thought but he never really felt like a Leviathon.

Sebastian still referred to this body of his as Leviathon body, he never really saw himself as a Leviathon yet and this was the barrier holding him back.

Now, after listening to Trinidad’s last words and matching them with this movie, his mind suddenly seemed to bloom and open like a blossoming flower.

Bzzz!

Sebastian’s consciousness already returned to his body but he did not pay attention to it, all his attention was on the words, deliberating on them, analyzing them, and trying to get the best use out of them.

The next moment, Sebastian declared loudly.

"I am a Leviathon!"

At this moment, this felt like a mindless Leviathon making noise but after saying this, Sebastian’s mind experienced a revolutionary change, it was like he finally dropped the shackles that were holding him back.

The next moment, his system lit up a notification.

[Bloodline Passive skill has been triggered: Ancestor’s Inheritance!]

[Congratulations! You have accessed the mental domain of Ancestors!]

To Sebastian’s shock, his system interface disappeared only to be replaced by an ethereal world of black filled with shining bright stars before him. This place looked extremely similar to space with only a few differences.

"Welcome Descendant Sebastian to the mind Domain of the Ancestors!"

Sebastian looked up only to see a Leviathon bigger than anything that he had ever seen before, this was a beast towering at over 100 meters!

"I am the 51st Ancestor, I was chosen to be the domain library’s librarian".

"Yes, you can see the mind domain as a library".

"This is where the heritage of the Ancestors to the descendants is kept".

To Sebastian’s surprise, he didn’t need to speak. Once he thought of something, the incorporeal Leviathon knew and immediately replied to him.

It took some more time of confirming, but Sebastian finally confirmed where this was. After only ever hearing about it before from others and Trinidad, Sebastian finally entered the mind domain of Leviathons.

This was the main advantage of the Megalodon bloodline, this was where the skills, techniques, and strategies that were developed over millions of years were kept for the use of descendants.

Sebastian always felt some regret after creating his ultimate war vessel, he thought that he couldn’t access it here due to something that he omitted during its creation but he could not have been more wrong.

All that was wrong from the beginning was his mentality. Once he realized his new identity and embraced it, everything changed.

The mental domain was a boundless library. It recorded every Leviathon skill from the white tier to the Black tier realm, but Sebastian only had access to those from the white tier to the Purple tier realm.

Here, Sebastian saw a lot of skills that he didn’t know of before, he also saw familiar skills that he had and a lot more than he ever thought.

Apart from the skills, there were tutorial books that explained strategies on how best to use these skills to get the most out of them in a battle.

Sebastian was so amazed by everything that he saw that he wanted to just stay here forever, but the world was not always so convenient.

ROAR!!!

The mighty roar woke him up from the mind domain.

When Sebastian opened his eyes, he saw that he was already in the new territory and his opponent for this last battle was already before his eyes.

His opponent was a fish, a rare Jade-toothed Fish.
