Chapter 486: Swimming Lesson!
"So, where does this beast live?" Sebastian asked enthusiastically.
"What is he? What race is he from? You know, I need to know details to better prepare for the epic clash that would soon ensue between the 3 of us".
"Calm down Sebastian, we’ll be taking this slow and steady".
Trinidad spoke slowly as he turned his massive body around before using his powerful limbs to pry the massive rock that he called his throne open.
Once the rock opened up, Sebastian was amazed as he was exposed to another amazing fact about space domain magicians. Trinidad used his space magic to modify the rock, turning it into a dimensional armory.
In here were Trinidad’s war gear and accumulations.
Just from one glance inside this special armory, Sebastian saw over a hundred magic gadgets and magic weapons inside here.
He drooled at first at the sight but thinking of how he needed to improve his strength fast and relying on external tools would be detrimental to his growth, he deflated and removed his eyes from them.
The most eye-catching magic gadgets and weapons inside the armory were apparent from one glance. They were the huge magic armor, the special glowing war helm, and the metal shoes that seemed able to stamp the world into oblivion.
This was Trinidad’s personal war gear.
Bzzz!
With a gesture of one of his powerful limbs, the huge magic armor disappeared from the armory. From Sebastian’s knowledge, he deduced that Trinidad just kept the armor inside his dimensional storage ring.
Perhaps, it was not a dimensional storage ring but a skill alternative for it which would only be possible since Trinidad was a powerful space domain magician but what mattered was that they had the same function.
Bzzz! Bzzz!
With each gesture, more magic gadgets and weapons disappeared from the armory as Trinidad got prepared to go to war.
While he prepared, he spoke to Sebastian.
"You know why I told you to calm down?"
"Because you want to get your war gear first for the battle".
"No".
"Umm, because you want to think of an attack plan so that our cooperation would be most effective when fighting against your rival".
"No".
"...Ugh, I don’t know".
Trinidad laughed. "I told you to calm down because we’ll not be going to fight my rival immediately. If we go now, there’s a high chance that you’ll die to him and that I may even lose against him for the first time because of you".
"I don’t know why, but from my interactions with you, you’re a Leviathon but you don’t think like one nor do you act like one".
"We are some of the Space Beasts with the richest history out there. The ability of our elders to leave knowledge about our past in our brains has not been replicated by any other race, we are unique".
"To other predators, it may not seem apparent but being an old Leviathon myself, I was able to discover all the flaws with you".
"While swimming, everything seems normal but you actually don’t swim like a Leviathon. Your swimming is clumsy, it feels so bad in my sight that it is like you are trying so hard to imitate swimming like a predator of a different race".
"The way you fight, let’s just say that I don’t want to see it, haha".
"I’ll probably tear my crown off in disbelief and frustration".
"I don’t know if this is because you’re still a young purple tier Leviathon, or because of your life experiences, or because of your abnormality but it feels off".
"I don’t want to know what caused it though, all I want to do is correct it. This is a sacred duty that the elders left in our memories, the old must help the young to grow and surpass them".
"I am merely fulfilling the wish of the elders though I like it too".
"Before going with me to fight Barak, first, I want to take you on a tour where I’ll teach you how to swim, talk, behave, and fight like a Leviathon".
"Now, Sebastian, are you in?"
"Yes..., yes". Sebastian was speechless at first, he never knew that he had so many flaws until this senior of his pointed them out and it left him embarrassed.
Once Sebastian gave his consent, Trinidad grinned.
"This will not take too long".
"Watch closely!"
Before Sebastian could react, 2 of Trinidad’s powerful arms grabbed him before pulling him away with a speed that left him suffocating.
Boom!
When Sebastian recovered, he was no longer inside Trinidad’s home, he was back outside the isolated space and was now being dragged along at a still high speed by Trinidad. Before he could complain, Trinidad spoke.
"Sebastian, listen, watch and learn".
"Leviathons are Space Beasts!"
"We are predators with pinnacle bloodlines, we have the complete inheritance of our ancestors, we are a superior species to most others!"
"As Leviathons, we never hesitate, it’s either no or yes, there’s no maybe".
"If you want to move, move!"
"If you want to fight, fight!"
"If you want to piss an enemy off, piss him off!"
"Remember, do not ever hesitate, we derive strength from being direct".
"Leviathons never swim like we are contemplating it. We swim with the full conviction that we are going out there and no one can stop us".
"Stop swimming like a coward, learn to swim like a Leviathon!"
"If you find it hard to do, start by first swimming while deactivating all your sensing skills. It may seem risky, but we Leviathons grow strong by taking risks".
"Without taking risks, you’ll always be a half-baked Leviathon".
"Even if the whole world goes against you, don’t give a damn, swim out there like the whole world is nothing more than prey to be killed by you".
"Do not ever forget this, we are superior!"
"We are the predators, every other being or thing is the prey!"
"Know this and you’ve taken your first step into being a real Leviathon".
"Now, Sebastian, swim like a Leviathon!" Trinidad suddenly stopped and released Sebastian mid-swim, causing him to rotate in an embarrassing manner having lost his balance.
"Be firm, Sebastian!"
Once Sebastian heard this order, it was like it was directed at his soul as he jerked before forcibly activating a skill to stabilize himself.
"No cowardly swimming anymore, I need to swim like a Leviathon". Sebastian muttered.
Trinidad’s ramblings for the past few minutes may seem like aimless talk, but they always hit at Sebastian’s mind with the force of a thousand hammers.
He felt like he was inside a lecture hall and all the lecturers’ points were hitting his weak point like ballistic missiles, he felt defeated but, in this state, his spirit of competitiveness arose. He would never give up!
"Swim like a Leviathon!"
[You have activated skill: Mega Dash!]
Boom!
For the first time in a long time, Sebastian activated his dash skill without activating any of his sensing skills to sense the way ahead for obstacles or enemies.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Sebastian was like an unstable truck as his extreme speed caused him to smash into 3 rocks, tearing them apart with the sheer strength of his body.
He tore a few more rocks apart before he finally got a hang of this one-dimensional mode of swimming without thinking of anything else. After stabilizing himself did Sebastian give attention to his speed, and he was shocked.
This was just his first time adopting the Leviathon mentality of swimming, but for some strange reason, his speed exceeded his maximum speed with just his mega dash skill by a sizeable margin already.
Sebastian was shocked!
Whoosh!
As he swam through this war-torn world without his sensing skills active, Sebastian no longer saw everything that he normally saw while swimming with his senses active, all he now saw was himself and the world.
He felt like he was Hercules going against the world. At this moment, while swimming, he felt like it was him against the world and it felt wonderful.
"Woah!" "Yeah!"
"I’m the King!" Sebastian yelled excitedly.
For the first time while swimming, he felt a sense of freedom and carefreeness that he had not felt in a long time, he felt liberated.
This swimming session seemed like a therapy session as all his troubles were washed away with the water, he felt on top of the world.
Without knowing it, his speed already increased further.
For 30 minutes, he continued swimming like this without a care in the world as he enjoyed himself to the full before he heard a familiar voice.
"Kid, you did good".
"You completed the first lesson, now let’s go over to the 2nd lesson".
"It’s time to start your battle lesson!".
