Chapter 883: Chapter 883 Compliments_1
Arnold Simmons, the second master of the Simmons Family.
No one dares to touch him, let alone even think about it.
Those with a bit of sense were eagerly flattering him, with nothing but praise spilling from their lips.
They weren’t aiming for Arnold, but for the beauty by his side.
"Miss Winter, you’re even more beautiful in person than on TV, truly a fairy descended from heaven, and you’re a perfect match with the second master."
"Miss Winter, I’ve watched the dramas you’ve acted in; I’m a fan. Would you mind giving me your autograph later? I’ve watched your shows so many times."
"Miss Winter, take a look at me, they’re not as good as I am. We’ve built a new home theater, and we don’t play anything there but your works. I’m definitely one of your die-hard fans."
The crowd, taking turns, turned the place into a fan meeting.
Hannah leaned against Arnold’s side, listening to everyone’s compliments, her eyes brimming with laughter.
Even though some of those words were true and others false, she graciously accepted them all, politely saying thank you. Then, she looked up at the tall man beside her, her smile tender and teasing.
The way her eyes curled up when she smiled was truly enchanting.
She said, "I just love it when they praise me."
Her voice was soft and delicate, meant for one person alone.
Arnold’s expression remained unchanged, the same indifference he showed to others, but a warm hand gently caressed and pinched the girl’s slender waist, as he said in a low voice, "That’s all it takes to satisfy you?"
The intentionally cold tone was actually filled with indulgence.
Hannah unabashedly clung to Arnold’s arm, rubbing her head against his shoulder, "That’s just one of my few hobbies, and you know it."
The beauty’s coquettish behavior made the crowd’s eyes pop, but the couple’s affectionate display was particularly irritating to them.
The taste of dog food made everyone’s mouths water as if from their eyes, but given the high status of the other party, they dared not kick over the dog bowl.
And because they heard Hannah’s words, they started flattering non-stop once again.
There must have been genuine feelings in some, escaping their control, as one exclaimed, "Hannah, I voted for you every day during your selection. I supported you and bought thousands of copies of your album by myself. I really like you, truly and sincerely!"
He was a rich second-generation with a mining family’s wealth, usually a big fan of celebrities. He had been a fan of Hannah for almost a year, and being a young man with great passion, he had fewer concerns.
This unexpected enthusiasm shocked the rest, who turned to gauge Arnold’s mood, thinking this guy was playing with fire.
With the legitimate financier right there, to openly confess with such recklessness was akin to seeking death.
After all, Arnold’s methods were never merciful.
The atmosphere turned cold.
The girl, with a delicate laugh, broke the chilly silence. She looked at the young man with a flushed face, her eyes and brows curving, "Thank you for your affection, but it’s not right to manipulate the results, you know."
The young man blushed, his gaze fixated on her as if she were the only one in sight, nodding foolishly, "Sorry... I won’t do it again."
He looked so shy that Hannah couldn’t help but cover her mouth to stifle her giggles.
She was completely unaware of the increasingly dark aura emanating from the man beside her.
While Hannah was oblivious, the rest were very aware, wishing they could knock some sense into the lovestruck young man still smiling foolishly.
Couldn’t he see that the real deal had a cold face already, and yet he still smiled!
After a while, Arnold’s deep and slightly cool voice suddenly broke through, "Since you all like giving compliments so much, why not pick a date to come over to the house and let’s discuss it further?"
