Chapter 869: Chapter 869 The Only Possibility_1

After leaving the room that day, George River’s heart had been ablaze with fury, and the fire had not subsided.

The more he thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt. Arnold Simmons was one thing, but now some actor dared to compete with him for a woman, not even considering his own status.

Furious, he went back and ordered a ban on Jackie Qualls.

But as an actor who had fought his way through the entertainment industry for many years, and considering that he had prepared defenses in advance, banning Jackie Qualls was not a simple matter for George River.

Even a slight mishap could blow up into a scandal of using his power to oppress others.

Previously, due to the issue with Tiffany Lynch swapping tickets, Prideful Entertainment had been in a precarious position, affecting even the River Clan in the fallout.

Although the incident had passed quite a while ago, if it were to be brought up again now, the impact would probably be even more sensational than before.

After all, Jackie Quall’s popularity wasn’t something to be taken lightly. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

But feeling his still throbbing wound, George River resolved to make Jackie Qualls pay the price.

While these two were at loggerheads, on the other side, Jimmy Simmons was puzzled why George River had suddenly started to make enemies in the entertainment circle.

Even if the other party was an actor, he was just a minor performer, hardly worth all the hassle.

Confused, Jimmy overheard this conversation; Tiffany Lynch, however, understood perfectly well.

The only possibility for these two to clash was Hannah Winter.

Her hand shook as she gripped her teacup, spilling most of the hot water and ruining the expensive silk carpet in the process.

Jimmy gave her a look from the sidelines, noticed the mess on the floor, and asked with concern, "What’s wrong?"

Tiffany’s face paled, the jealousy in her eyes fading but not quickly enough to hide her panic as she stammered, "It’s... it’s nothing. I’ve just been a little too tired from filming recently."

The movie adaptation of The Palace Wall left Tiffany Lynch exhausted. With the TV version’s success and the strong cast of experienced actors in the movie, she often felt overshadowed in her scenes.

The female lead’s character was persistently suppressed, kind and magnanimous. It sounded simple, but the role demanded high acting skill, especially in comparison to the original portrayal by the award-winning actress Crystal Quach—adding to the pressure Tiffany felt.

Sometimes, when she couldn’t get into character, her mind would go blank and she’d break into tears; it didn’t take long for the female lead’s image to morph into a saintly figure, perceived as weak, incapable, and tearful due to Tiffany’s botched interpretation.

She had wanted to find a way to give Hannah Winter some trouble for the satisfaction, but much to her surprise, Hannah claimed she could not come and did not show up, acting all high and mighty, even unafraid of the ban the producers talked about.

Tiffany was furious, and her concentration on the filming suffered even more; her acting skills, barely passable at fifty or sixty percent before, had now dwindled to a mere twenty or thirty percent.

Seeing Tiffany in this state, Jimmy still patiently consoled her with an unusual show of tender care, which could easily move someone’s heart.

Even Tiffany herself couldn’t help but be touched, blushing as she nodded, "Jimmy, I’ll take good care of myself."

Jimmy nodded, signaling Hank Ward to continue the topic they were discussing before.

Hank first glanced at Tiffany Lynch beside him, then took out the information he had gathered.

It was sealed in a kraft paper bag, and had been secured before being handed to Jimmy.

Upon opening it, there were several photos and a few pieces of information, each containing only a few terse sentences about Hannah.

As a popular girl group idol, this information was basically public; even if it had been uncovered, it was hardly surprising.
