Chapter 867: Chapter 867: No One Likes It_1
Especially the way the other relied on Hannah, it was as if proclaiming some sort of ownership.
Truly laughable.
He withdrew his gaze, suppressing the rage that the boy had stirred within him. He knew that the greatest threat at the moment was still Jackie Qualls.
Their eyes met again, both smiling, but while one’s smile carried a cold sarcasm, the other’s was elegantly gentle and soft.
George River stared at the opposite Jackie Qualls, his domineering demeanor as chilling as the frost, and spoke word by word, "It seems you really intend to compete with me for her?"
Jackie smiled lightly, picked up the coat from the ground, patting it on his arm. His gaze swept over Hannah’s body before finally resting on the man in front of him, "Director River, I think you still haven’t understood, ever since you abandoned Hannah a year ago, she no longer belongs to you."
The past was brought up again, and George subconsciously clenched his palm, struggling to keep himself steady, yet the competitive fire within him blazed fiercely.
Even back when he knew his good brother Jimmy Simmons liked Tiffany Lynch, it was never like this.
George’s gaze fell on Hannah once again.
At that moment, she was seriously touching up her makeup with the mirror in her hand, her vivid lipstick outlining a beautiful shape, cherry-red in color against her pale skin, which was blushing faintly.
Completely indifferent to everyone else’s presence.
George felt as if another massive stone had been added to his chest.
Watching the two men fighting over her, their interactions sharp and confrontational, yet she remained so calm and composed.
He took a deep breath, striving to maintain his cool, "Hannah Winter, don’t you have anything to say?"
Hannah put away the mirror in her hand, lightly raising her eyebrows, casting a fleeting glance over both men, then looked down at the boy at her feet.
The boy took the initiative to nuzzle his head against her, rubbing back and forth.
Witnessing the intimacy between them almost unleashed George’s fury again, and even Jackie’s expression showed signs of cracking.
But Hannah, with an unchanged expression, withdrew her hand. She did not respond to the boy’s affection or the disappointment in his eyes, "Whatever you guys hope I’d say, I’ve said it before, I like none of you."
George’s eyes turned nearly red, his handsome features icing over, each word as if squeezed out from his throat, "Hannah Winter, you’re good, very good!"
Hannah raised her eyebrows, smiling coyly, "Of course, I’m very good."
Being a person of high status, the angered George still carried an imposing aura.
At least compared to him, Louis Snyder appeared just like a green, inexperienced boy, whose presence seemed much weaker, and even though he was reluctant, he understood that some things just couldn’t be changed.
Gloom and hostility shone from the boy’s downturned eyes, his lips pressed firmly together, his complexion pallid.
"Hannah Winter, don’t think I’ll give up!" George, angered by Hannah’s attitude, glanced at the other two men in the room, and a sense of betrayal arose within him.
The man’s cold gaze swept over Louis Snyder and Jackie Qualls, then he picked up his own clothes from the ground and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
The assistant only had time to catch a glimpse of George’s ink-dark face; before he could speak, the man had already walked away.
The room fell silent once more, leaving only disarray.
The assistant peeked inside; one had left and two remained.
He sighed internally.
What an ordeal!
Jackie looked at Hannah and, after thinking for a moment, still said, "Be careful, George River is a man capable of anything."
