Chapter 662: Chapter 662: Entering the Village
The village chief took the initiative to greet them, encasing his eyes in the cracks of his wide smile, "The houses have been prepared for you. If there’s anything you need on regular days, feel free to come to me. In a few days, the market outside will be bustling. You’re welcome to visit if you’re interested."
George Quach handled the conversation. At this, he nodded and politely responded, "Thank you, village chief."
Touching his beard, the village chief replied, "Just call me Old Wilson."
Then he pulled a young man standing next to him to the front, introducing him proactively, "This is my nephew, Benjamin Wilson. If there’s anything you’ll need, he can also help."
Old Wilson patted Benjamin on the back. Quickly stepping forwards, Benjamin raised his eyes to find Hannah next to George. Dazzled by her beauty, he staggered and almost fell down.
Luckily, he steadied himself in time.
Benjamin appeared simple and honest, with a suntanned face turning somewhat red. Lifting his head, he saw a little boy standing in front of him and the boy’s expressionless face made it even more awkward.
Matthew Quach glanced at Benjamin and then immediately turned around and left.
He deliberately slowed down his pace and walked beside Hannah. Hannah glanced at him, and pulled out a lollipop from her pocket and handed it to him.
Matthew pretended to be displeased but still accepted it.
There were two lollipops in his pocket, one of which he didn’t even feel like eating, leaving Pineapple Head trailing behind him all along, lustfully waiting for a lollipop to fall out of Matthew’s pocket.
The filming crew had at least thirty to forty people, excluding logistics. A full medical team was also at their beck and call, suggesting they were prepared for an extended stay in these parts.
The path in the mountains was treacherous, all prepared meticulously by George.
Official filming would start tomorrow, but there was one task that had to be accomplished today.
Forming groups.
Three adults, three children, one of each to a group—just right.
The method of choosing was very straightforward.
The three children played a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. The winner got to choose first.
Upon hearing the rules, Matthew remained expressionless, his cold demeanor resembling that of an adult.
Pineapple Head was more casual, his snacks never stopped. He didn’t care who he was paired with, as long as there was food.
The most nervous was undoubtedly Phoebe Sherton. She just wanted to be in the same group with the charming older sister.
In the first round, Pineapple Head won.
Phoebe was so anxious that she nearly tore off the butterfly knot on her princess-like dress.
She had only asked Matthew if he would choose Hannah and forgot to ask Pineapple Head.
Pineapple Head stood in front of Owen Hanson. Just as Owen thought he was about to be chosen, Pineapple Head turned around and ran towards James Landon.
He looked eagerly at the man in front of him and extended his hand, "Uncle, do you have any more chocolate?"
James looked baffled but instinctively reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of chocolate.
Pineapple Head grinned, and then stood next to James.
In the grand scheme of things, eating came first.
Phoebe sighed in relief and whispered to Matthew, "Brother Matthew Quach, I’ll draw out scissors next."
She blinked her eyes, making an effort to convey the message to Matthew.
Matthew remained aloof and did not respond.
But Phoebe wasn’t discouraged, thinking that Matthew had tacitly agreed to their plan.
One round would determine the winner.
With a crisp call, they yelled, "Rock, paper, scissors!"
Phoebe chose paper.
Matthew chose scissors.
Phoebe remained stunned for a few seconds. Blinking, tears fell from her eyes. "Brother Matthew Quach lied."
Matthew asked, taken aback, "What did I lie about?"
Phoebe choked on her words. Perhaps faced with Matthew’s stern little face, she suddenly lost her courage.
