Chapter 661: Chapter 661: Sitting Outside

"Have you ever heard of ’appearance reflects the mind’? You clearly don’t like me, yet you try to curry my favor, I’ve seen plenty of people like you."

A cold smile crept over Owen Hanson’s face.

Perhaps it stung to have his feelings guessed by a child.

After saying this, Matthew Quach got up and moved to the back.

As Hannah returned the headphones to James Landon, she turned to see Matthew Quach standing beside her.

He did not speak. Hannah, propping up her head, gazed at him.

The gentle, fragmented orange light shone on his cheek, adding a warmth. The smile in his eyes was like light refracted on water.

The water was gently rippling, shimmering in the light.

Matthew Quach pursed his lips and held onto the back of the chair. Likely unsure of what to say, he stood erect like a small pine tree.

He seemed a bit precocious.

Hannah smirked, "Little friend, do you want to sit beside me?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Matthew Quach lowered his head. After a long delay, he timidly responded, "Yeah."

Hannah turned her body slightly, creating a space for him to enter.

However, Matthew Quach didn’t move. "I want to sit on the outside."

Hannah looked at him and then asked with a laugh, "Why?"

Matthew Quach looked obstinate, serious in his youthful countenance.

James Landon, who was sitting in the back seat, looked over, furrowed his brow, and seemed to want to say something but couldn’t find the words.

Phoebe Sherton looked excited. She had wanted to sit next to the pretty lady for a long time but hesitated, only to see Matthew Quach beat her to it.

The boy who had the pineapple hairstyle was busy eating, totally oblivious to what was happening in front of him.

When she didn’t get an answer, Hannah did not rush to move. It seems like she must wait for Matthew Quach to speak up.

After a while, Matthew Quach seemed to compromise but puffed his cheeks and with difficulty said, "Sitting on the outside can protect you."

His last sentence was very faint.

Upon hearing this, Hannah didn’t argue about this matter anymore, and she willingly moved over.

After sitting down, Matthew Quach sighed with relief, but continued to maintain his cold facade, sitting up straight and looking straight ahead.

They only moved once they arrived at their destination and the car had stopped. Matthew Quach stood up and in a gentlemanly fashion, let Hannah exit first.

Matthew Quach fell behind, and Phoebe Sherton hesitated for a long time before running up to him and gathering up courage to ask, "Brother Matthew Quach, do you like the pretty lady too?"

She nervously twiddled with her fingers.

If Brother Matthew Quach also liked the pretty lady, what should she do?

Phoebe Sherton, the little lady, was worrying alone when Matthew Quach heard what she said. His usually stern face turned red and he stuttered, "Wh-who...who said I like her?!"

She ... she doesn’t even remember him, he certainly didn’t like her!

"Really?" Phoebe Sherton’s eyes lit up, "That’s great, then no one will compete with me for the pretty lady!"

With a cheer, Phoebe Sherton ran off, leaving Matthew Quach to sulkily watching the place where Hannah had been sitting.

The host of the television crew was the village chief, a man in his sixties or seventies. He had dark skin and a congenial countenance. When he saw George Quach, he was as delighted as if he had found a golden nugget.

After all, their village was a backwater, receiving few visitors throughout the year. It was this very isolation that attracted George Quach and prompted him to choose it as their filming location.

During the filming, the instant payment they received benefited each household and was equivalent to two or three years of their income. Naturally, everyone was welcoming.

They wished the television crew would settle down there for good.
