Chapter 640: Chapter 640: One Chance

He mistook her for the secretary who was here just now, "I... can I ask, does Hannah have time today?"

She lifted her hand, her little lace fan hiding her red lips as she laughed graciously, "It is said that short-sighted people can’t distinguish between men and women five meters away, and can’t recognize humans from animals ten meters away, but it seems your situation is much worse."

George Quach immediately started feeling nervous, "I’m... sorry, I..."

As he spoke, he bent down to look for his glasses.

Perhaps feeling embarrassed, his face turned red.

A faint, delicate fragrance wafted past his nose, somewhat like the scent of flowers wrapped in the chill of snow melt.

The next moment, a soft, white hand came into his vision. The girl’s voice was gentle and filled with amusement. "Teacher Qi, here are your glasses."

George Quach reacted and quickly reached out to take it. His hand brushed accidentally against her fair skin and he almost tumbled over.

Once he had his glasses on, George Quach finally got a clear look at the woman in front of him.

Her skin was fair as snow with long black hair tied back. A retro pearl hair accessory adorned her head, and a black net veil obscured half of her smooth forehead, blurring the charm between her brows and eyes.

As she sat there, leaning towards a teapot with antic flower patterns, she radiated the grace of a noblewoman from a bygone era.

"Teacher Qi, am I really so terrifying?" she asked.

George Quach snapped back to reality, admiration shining in his eyes as he quickly shook his head. "No, it’s not that; I just..."

He stumbled over his words, feeling like the woman in front of him was even more beautiful than the photos suggested.

If possible, even stunningly realist.

Hannah poured two cups of water, pushing one towards George Quach and holding the other in her hand. "When Mr. Landon introduced you, he never mentioned that you would be this shy; you don’t seem like a producer at all."

George Quach kept his head down, dared not look at Hannah’s face, nor touch the cup of water on the table. "I’m sorry, this is my first time."

George Quach was a student of Adam Landon, who personally guided him and encouraged him to try and produce a variety show. As a teacher, he promised to offer assistance.

As for the first step of the assistance, Adam nudged his own brother to be included in George’s program, insisting it was an opportunity for him to take a good rest and interact with other people.

And the second step was to give George Hannah’s contact information.

Adam simply suggested to George that he decide for himself whether or not Hannah was suitable for his show, and if she was, to take the initiative to approach her.

Adam only wanted to provide his student with another option, but unexpectedly, George chose Hannah. As a teacher, all Adam could do was to give Hannah a heads-up by phone.

The gist of it was to ask Hannah to be patient with George, and if she deemed George fit for the task, to give him a chance.

Although George was indeed an introvert, when discussing his area of expertise, he turned into a different person,

He spoke with ease and fluidity.

His mouth drying from all the talking, he picked up the cup on the table and drank it all.

Inside the small antique porcelain cup was not much water to begin with.

George awkwardly set down his cup, casting an embarrassed look at the Hannah in front of him.

Just as Hannah was about to refill his cup, he quickly grabbed the teapot.

"I can do it," he assured her. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Hannah withdrew her hand, her eyes brimming with amusement, "So Teacher Qi, do you hope for me to babysit?"

George shook his head emphatically like a bobble head, "It’s not entirely about babysitting, but more about getting along with the children during the process."
