Chapter 1283: Chapter 1283: Visiting the Set
For some reason, he always felt a faint sense of unease.
*
Both the River Clan and the Simmons Clan fell into troubles one after another.
Compared to George River, Jimmy Simmons was much calmer.
Three days later, he negotiated a brief respite for the Simmons Clan by giving up a portion of interests.
The issue was temporarily resolved.
The previously silent board and shareholders finally voiced their dissatisfaction.
After all, the Simmons Clan had faced greater crises in the past.
The conditions back then were a genuine encirclement of enemies, far worse than the current crisis of the River Clan.
Yet, even in the face of wolves ahead and tigers behind, Arnold Simmons was still able to lead the Simmons Clan to rise from the ashes and turn defeat into victory.
In comparison, Jimmy fell short by quite a margin.
Some board members were already proposing to bring Arnold back to assume a position at the Simmons Clan once again.
In response, Jimmy did not express any opinion.
Whether or not Arnold would return was no longer something they could easily decide.
Arnold had said he would no longer interfere with any affairs of the Simmons Clan, and he meant it.
When people from the Simmons Clan came to him, Arnold rejected them in an extremely calm manner.
"I have faith in Jimmy’s abilities, and I’m sure the Simmons Clan will continue to improve under his leadership."
Upon hearing this response, the visitor couldn’t help but lose his smile.
He couldn’t even tell if Arnold was being sarcastic on purpose.
It was clear to everyone in the Simmons Clan that Jimmy’s ability to manage the company was far inferior to Arnold’s.
Jimmy was smart, but he lacked the adaptability required for the business world.
Like George River, he was too excellent and the family had high hopes for him, born with a silver spoon and arrogance in his bones.
This was their similarity.
Grown in favorable conditions, they both overconfidently believed they would never fail.
The discussion ended up unresolved.
Although Arnold no longer held any position within the Simmons Clan, he still held shares in the company.
If it really came down to it, he presumably wouldn’t ignore the situation.
Holding this thought, the visitor finally left with a sense of relief.
After sending the visitor away, Arnold checked the time.
Eleven o’clock at noon.
It was precisely the time for Hannah’s first scene of the day to start filming.
Recently, Arnold had been visiting the film set frequently.
At first, everyone was somewhat uncomfortable, but as time passed, they realized Arnold wasn’t as aloof and hard to get along with as rumored, and they gradually relaxed.
Sometimes when Hannah was busy filming, Arnold would stand in a corner and wait, with machinery in front and surrounded by people, yet his gaze would only rest upon Hannah.
Even the director couldn’t resist teasing that it was a good thing their film was a pure and artistic one, with no intimate scenes, or the male lead would be under great pressure.
One hour later, the director called "cut".
It was just in time for lunch.
Hannah was still standing in front of the camera, studying the script in her hand, while the makeup artist followed her, touching up her makeup.
The male lead of this movie was a newcomer to the entertainment industry.
With a fairly green face, he often didn’t dare to look into Hannah’s eyes during their scenes.
His face turned red as soon as he saw her smile.
The shyness was real, and so was his inability to deliver his lines.
The director had been quite angry about this matter.
He told the male lead to practice more with Hannah when he was free, to get used to it.
So even though the director had already called a halt, the male lead was still practicing lines with Hannah on set.
