Chapter 1282: Chapter 1282: One Month Deadline

The person who had once said his prospects were limitless and that he would lead the River Clan to new heights now looked at him expressionlessly, his words ice-cold, "With these problems arising in the company, as the President and person in charge of the project, you bear an inescapable responsibility. After our unanimous decision, if you are still unable to resolve the current issues in a month, then I am sorry, we will have to temporarily relieve you of your presidential duties."

George River tugged at the corner of his mouth, feeling powerless yet furious, but in the end, he could only say, "I understand."

The meeting was adjourned.

Everyone left, but the pressure and doubt they brought lingered like shadows.

George River’s situation was not good, and as his partner, Jimmy Simmons was not much better off.

Though he too was restrained within the company, he still possessed a certain amount of power.

And this portion of power led both the Simmons Clan and River Clan into crisis.

Because of his partnership with George River, the Simmons Clan had become entangled with the River Clan.

If River Clan was mired in crisis, the Simmons Clan could not remain unscathed.

Although the situation wasn’t as severe as the River Clan’s, it was enough to give Jimmy Simmons a severe headache.

"Is George River a fool, unable to handle even such a simple matter, this waste!"

This was the first time in a year that Jimmy Simmons had been so angry.

The glass in his hand was smashed forcefully against the wall. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

The sound of the "smash" echoed his fury.

Jimmy Simmons looked at the latest message, his whole being enveloped in a cloud of gloom, his eyes dark and icy, as if a thick layer of frost had formed in them.

He had always known that George River was foolish, but he never imagined he would be this foolish.

He could let the misstep in the South City project slide, as he had not been very involved.

But to think that there could be problems with the other projects as well.

He had been too trusting, entrusting everything to George River, yet never expected that in the end, he would receive such a "gift."

It was bad enough that he had taken a fall with Arnold Simmons, but now George River had played him as well.

If the River Clan wasn’t also in crisis, he would really suspect that this was a trap set by George River, designed to calculate against him.

Jimmy Simmons struggled to calm himself down.

Although he had lost control for a moment, he regained his composure quickly, "Is there any news from the board of directors?"

Standing to the side, Hank Ward replied, "Not at the moment."

Jimmy Simmons asked again, "What about the other shareholders?"

Hank Ward shook his head, "Nothing either."

The issue had just started, the board of directors and the shareholders had not yet taken a stand.

But their silence did not mean unconditional trust in Jimmy Simmons.

They were just waiting to see how he would solve this issue, and if the outcome was not to their liking, what would follow would be their challenge.

Jimmy Simmons furrowed his brow, trying hard to keep his rationality, "What about Arnold Simmons?"

Although Arnold Simmons had left the company, he still held shares in the Simmons Clan.

The second-largest shareholder, after him.

Hank Ward still shook his head, saying no.

There was indeed no movement from Arnold Simmons’s side.

Jimmy Simmons’s frown deepened.

Logically, if there was a problem with a project of the Simmons Clan, Arnold Simmons should have been informed.

Given the hatred between him and Arnold Simmons, he should not be this quiet at a time like this.

Could it be... he had another move up his sleeve?

Jimmy Simmons fell into deep thought.
