Chapter 371: Demons At The Border (Bonus)
Several minutes later...
Inside the boss chamber, the enormous beast let out a deafening roar the moment Ethan stepped inside.
Before it could even lunge, however, a magic circle spread across the cavern floor. Ethan immediately activated the Space Sealing Spell, locking the monster in place and preventing it from leaving the chamber no matter how violently it struggled.
Once the sealing spell was complete, he then created a separate gravitational field around the creature, ensuring it would remain unaffected by the immense pressure he was about to introduce.
Satisfied, Ethan turned and left the chamber.
——
Back inside the crystal cavern...
Ethan returned to Hayley and Percival. One after the other, he adjusted the gravitational fields surrounding them until each existed independently from the rest of the Breach Zone.
Neither of them would be affected by what came next.
After confirming everything was stable, Ethan slowly closed his eyes.
Reaching outward with the Aspect of Dominion, he sensed the invisible gravitational field that naturally permeated the entire Breach Zone.
Then he began to alter it.

The natural intensity of gravity throughout the dimensional gap gradually changed.
It wasn’t a matter of pouring more gravity into the space. He was rewriting the very rule that governed how gravity behaved within the Breach itself.
Almost immediately, Ethan sensed the dimensional gap respond.
Just as he had hoped, the unseen space that composed the Breach possessed enough stability to contain such a change.
At least for now.
However, he could also sense there was a limit.
Even a dimensional gap could only withstand so much before becoming unstable. This wasn’t something he could maintain indefinitely.
Fortunately, it didn’t need to be.
While maintaining the Aspect of Dominion over himself, Ethan remained completely unaffected by the newly established gravitational field.
Only after confirming everything had stabilized did he release that protection.
The effect that followed was instantaneous as his entire body crashed downward. One knee slammed into the ground.
"...Sh..."
He grimaced.
"...Shit..."
Even drawing a breath had suddenly become difficult.
"...Even..."

"...breathing..."
"...is hard..."
Hayley stared at him for a moment before shaking her head. "Ethan, I’m not sure I can fight you like this. You can barely stand."
Still breathing heavily, Ethan slowly nodded.
"...Yeah..."
"...Fair point..."
"...I..."
"...can’t move..."
With visible effort, he reached back into the gravitational field and gradually reduced its intensity.
Two hundred times became one hundred.
The crushing force eased, allowing Ethan to breathe before slowly pushing himself back to his feet.
Of course, if Ethan had reinforced himself with any of his physical enhancement abilities, the effects of the gravity would’ve been much less overwhelming.
But that wasn’t the purpose of this training. This was for his body alone.
As both a Guardian and a Warrior, his body was naturally denser and heavier than that of an ordinary person.
With the surrounding gravity increased to roughly one hundred times normal, his own body was effectively pressing down on itself with hundreds of times its usual weight. Simply remaining upright demanded an enormous amount of effort.
The rest of the hour passed quietly.
Hayley and Percival mostly remained where they were, occasionally exchanging a few idle words while watching Ethan.
Meanwhile, Ethan devoted every ounce of concentration to the simplest of movements.
He slowly raised an arm... held it there... then lowered it again.
He adjusted his footing inch by inch, rotated his waist, threw painfully slow punches, corrected his stance and repeated the most basic footwork over and over.
Every movement that would normally have been easy now demanded absolute focus, as though his own body had become an enormous weight determined to pin him to the ground.
Again and again, he cycled through simple combat forms, forcing his muscles to adapt to the crushing pressure with every deliberate motion.

At the same time...Elsewhere in the city...
Dark Nova continued moving from one location to another, revisiting the sites where the various family heads had been murdered outside their residences.
He had already inspected several of them.
Now, he stood along the lanes of a quiet road.
It was the same road leading away from the hotel where the Lebrante Alpha wolf had fled on the day Wilson and co hunted him down.
Norman slowly walked across the road before coming to a stop beside a newly installed utility pole.
The original had been destroyed on the night the head Lebrante family crashed into it after swerving to escape Wilson’s pursuit.
His gaze drifted toward the roadside. The damaged vehicle was long gone, and the right authorities had already cleared away almost every trace of the incident.
Even so, his eyes continued scanning the sand and gravel along the edge of the road until they eventually settled on a tiny shard of carriage glass.
He bent down, picked it up between his fingers, and examined it. "...Hmm."
Closing his hand around the shard, he ascended into the sky and made his way toward the next location.

Meanwhile...
At Gritnia’s coastal border, towering walls overlooked the sea, their watchtowers rising high above the shoreline.
Soldiers patrolled the battlements while others remained stationed beside heavy defensive emplacements aimed toward the vast ocean beyond.
Prince Rayleigh was lying in bed, inside one of the fortress chambers while smiling as he stared at one of the photographs Ishtar had sent him some time ago.
Captain Luther of the Imperial Guard oversaw the routine border watch outside.

Everything appeared peaceful. Until...
"What?!" A lookout abruptly lowered the long observation scope from his eye.
He quickly raised the scope again to see the sight of two figures drawing closer across the sea
His breath caught as their features gradually became clear.
"Horns..." His eyes widened. "Demons!"
He immediately turned and sprinted toward the command post. "Demons approaching the border!"
The warning echoed throughout the fortress while soldiers began rushing into position at once as alarm bells rang across the walls.
High above the ocean, two figures continued flying toward Gritnia.
One was a beautiful demon woman whose large, elegantly curved horns framed her face.
The other had long black hair flowing behind him, a sort of mask on his face and a dark robe as he silently crossed the skies.
Jillia narrowed her eyes toward the distant fortress. "My Lord, there’s a barrier protecting the border. Allow me to remove it."
Without waiting for another command, she surged forward, streaking past Lord Krygon as she shot toward the coastline.
