Chapter 369: Execution (2)
Chapter 367
Kai reached Caster and Van’s position.
Crystal club gripped tightly in his hand as he stared at the Dark Wolf, which was totally oblivious to his arrival, trying to untie the lasso.
As if they were in sync, the boys lifted their eyes in Kai’s direction to see the Legacy raising the club above his head—ready to swing it down.
’The more you both are awake, the more hurt you will be. I’m sorry. But you need to sleep for now.’
Caster’s eyes flashed with irritation and crimson.
Almost immediately, the Dark Wolf stopped what it was doing.
The club was coming down on Caster first.
As long as he was awake, his wolf would still be around.
So he needed to take him out first.
But before the club even had the chance to properly descend, the wolf spun around and bolted towards the Legacy.
Kai’s eyes rolled to the side as he felt something stirring around the area.
Looking back to where the wolf had been a second ago, he realized that it was gone.
’Uh damn.... Super speed.’
With barely enough time to react, Kai brought the club in front of him.
Just in time, as the wolf appeared before him with its claws lashing out—only to collide with the club.
The impact was powerful and even managed to push the Legacy a few inches backward.
But he didn’t go very far.
Gritting his teeth, Kai parried the claws to the side.
Alas!
He only parried empty air, as the wolf had already leaped off the club and landed back at Caster’s side.
Van’s eyes flashed a deep blue for a second as he angled his palm in Kai’s direction as much as the lasso would allow him to do.
Then,
Bang!
A beam shot towards the handsome Legacy.
The sound drew the attention of the others as they all turned away from what Ray was doing to see Kai faced with a beam heading his way.
"Wha—?!"
Before Chloe could complete her words,
Clap!
Felix and Kai switched positions immediately.
The werewolf had his arms crossed in front of his face at the absolute nick of time.
His body bent forward in an attempt to lessen the impact of the beam.
Even so, he still went sliding across the ground on his knees for a few inches.
The force of the attack kicked up dust and shattered pieces of marble beneath him.
The Dark Wolf pounced towards him with speed almost akin to teleportation.
Clack. Clack.
Wham!
Kai’s club tapped against the ground for a few seconds, his body angled and positioned in a way that made it seem as though he was about to play golf.
Then,
He hauled the crystal club forward with all his might.
A second.
Just a damn second before impact with the wolf’s legs, the beast vaulted into the air, allowing the club to smash through empty air.
"Awhooooo!"
The beast howled with all its might, causing a shockwave to ripple outward, crashing into Kai and sending the handsome Legacy ricocheting across the ground like a discarded doll.
His body tumbled several times before finally skidding to a halt.
Trisha’s eyes flashed with annoyance as she pointed her hand into the air.
From the tips of her fingers, a dozen ice spikes tore through the air.
Even though it was mid-air, the wolf was so agile that it began weaving through the ice spikes until it landed on the ground with remarkable precision.
Two arrows from Chloe whistled through the air with tremendous force as they were being boosted by her ability.
The wolf was swift on its feet as it dodged each and every one of the arrows.
Bang!
Another beam from Van shot towards Felix, who quickly leaped into the air.
The beam ripped through the air where the werewolf had been a second earlier before crashing into the ground and blasting a hole through the marble floor.
Mid-air, Felix swung his claws a few times, unleashing dozens of claw strikes that hurtled towards the wolf in rapid succession.
"Awhooo!"
Another howl from the wolf sent a shockwave smashing through the claw strikes.
It was about to lift its paws and move forward when it suddenly felt its speed drastically reduced.
Looking around, it spotted Chloe with her hands held forward—using her ability to restrain the wolf as much as she could.
That second.
That fraction of a second, as Van was charging a beam in her direction, Kai picked himself up and bolted towards the wolf.
His club was held slightly behind him.
Felix landed on the ground.
He bent slightly at the knees, muscles coiling tight, then released like an unbound spring, launching into the air with explosive grace.
He rapidly approached the wolf alongside Kai.
Twirling his hands around, Kai brought the club in front of his face before hauling it forward with unwavering force.
Even though its speed had been reduced for a moment, it was still fast enough to launch into the air, thereby avoiding the club, which only smashed through empty air.
Even though his attack failed, a small smile flashed across his face.
"You are just a beast, you can’t be as smart as a human."
The moment he finished speaking, a spike from the club tore forward like a bullet.
"...."
"Aaaaaah!"
Caster let out a pained shout as the spike tore through his shoulder, leaving a small hole behind.
Blood immediately stained his clothes as the force of the attack jolted his restrained body.
The wolf’s eyes gleamed as it saw its master injured.
It was about to dart forward when Felix suddenly appeared in front of it with a smirk widening across his face.
His hand coiled backward before swinging forward with explosive force.
Bang!
The fist crashed into the wolf’s snout with such thunderous force that cracks spiderwebbed across the ground beneath them.
A second later, the wolf’s body could be seen blasting away with incredible velocity.
WAM!
It smashed through a pillar with tremendous force, leaving a huge dent in the solid structure.
The cocoons filled with humans trembled slightly from the impact.
Bang!
A white beam shot towards Chloe.
However, Trisha slid on her knees—cutting into the beam’s path with an ice shield that absorbed the impact of the beam.
Shards of ice scattered across the marble floor as the attack dispersed.
Kai wasted no time blurring forward.
His club swung forward and crashed into Caster’s head... hard enough to instantly knock him out.
"Sorry. This gonna hurt." Kai uttered as he swung his foot towards Van’s face—bashing it with enough force to knock him unconscious.
The boy’s eyes rolled to the back of his head within a second before he collapsed limply onto the ground.
Simultaneously, the Dark Wolf was suddenly enveloped in a cloud of black mist that carried it away.
All of this happened within a minute or two and just in time, as Ray had just finished locking down the spiders with his new lightning skill.
And he was about to execute them all.
