Chapter 383: Chapter 248: Don’t Tell Me the Three of Us Are Going to Sleep Together?
He took a deep breath and pressed play.
The eerie music started up again, grating on his nerves. Distorted English words flashed across the screen, the letters streaked with realistic-looking scarlet bloodstains. They flickered for a long time before a character finally appeared, followed by the sound of heavy, ragged breathing.
He watched intently.
Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao fell silent. Of course, they weren’t nearly as relaxed as they appeared. They huddled close to Chen Yuan, their fingers unconsciously digging into the fabric on his arm, leaving deep creases in the cloth.
The night was late, the house was still, and a torrential rain was pouring down.
Watching a horror movie in this environment was thrilling, to say the least. Jiangg Yao, the genius who’d come up with the idea, was starting to regret it. She burrowed deeper and deeper into Chen Yuan’s arms, pulling the blanket up to cover half her face in a clear display of someone who couldn’t bear to watch.
Jiangg Ning was faring no better than her sister. Her eyelashes trembled as she rested her head on Chen Yuan’s lap, one hand covering her eyes.
「One minute later.」
Suddenly, a face flashed onto the screen!
"AHHHHH!!!" The sisters’ screams nearly shattered his eardrums.
「Three minutes later.」
Chen Yuan wasn’t scared in the slightest anymore. He crossed his legs, watching the so-called "horror movie" with a rather playful expression. He’d thought it would be terrifying, but it wasn’t even as immersive as a large haunted house attraction. He simply couldn’t get into it.
He, on the other hand, had the leisure to observe the sisters’ terrified expressions, which reminded him of trapped hamsters. Their reactions were so over-the-top he could barely keep a straight face. In their fright, they had grabbed his hands and placed them on their own shoulders, so now Chen Yuan was splayed out in a ’T’ pose, holding them both.
A tantalizing fragrance that tickled his senses filled his nostrils. The softness of their bodies, the way they constantly flinched in his embrace—it was enough to make his cheeks flush. He couldn’t help but focus on the feeling of them against him, but the more he focused, the hotter his whole body became.
He could no longer focus on the horror movie.
「Ten minutes later.」
He tried his best to lift his hands a little to keep his touch from becoming inappropriate, but Jiangg Yao paid it no mind. In fact, every time she screamed, she forcefully pulled his hand down against her. Thus, Chen Yuan was forced into a compromising position, with absolutely no idea where to put his hands.
And as for Jiangg Ning...
’No, wait... ’
Chen Yuan really wanted to ask her if she could lie in a different position. Her elbow was digging into him and it was really uncomfortable, but he was too embarrassed to say it out loud. This feeling of both pain and pleasure was incredibly awkward, and every time a scary scene appeared, he would grimace with a pained expression.
He wasn’t scared—Ning was just digging her elbow into him.
「Thirty minutes later.」
Chen Yuan let out a huge yawn. He realized it wasn’t that the movie was bad—it was simpler than that. He just wasn’t scared of this style of Western horror.
Things like abandoned cabins in the woods, blood-soaked axes, the breakdown of society, and monsters suddenly appearing.
None of that was scary. At best, it was just a cheap sensory thrill.
What he was truly afraid of was Chinese-style horror... ghost marriages, red candles and joss paper, labyrinthine villages, dimly glowing lanterns—anything related to traditional customs carried an inherent sense of mystery and terror. That, or supernatural and psychological horror.
Now *that* was truly bone-chilling.
「One hour later.」
The two sisters were a living embodiment of the phrase "bad at it, but loves to play." They’d managed to scare one of them to tears—Jiangg Yao was now sobbing in his arms, her hands vigorously rubbing his abs, as if only Chen Yuan’s good looks could soothe her terror-induced trauma.
Jiangg Ning was in no better state. Her face had gone completely pale. Not only did she refuse to watch the scary parts herself, she would even use her hands to turn Chen Yuan’s face away, burying her own in his neck.
Her hot breath ghosted across his ear, making it tickle so much he couldn’t help but want to scratch it.
"I’m scared..."
"Shh, shh, it’s okay."
Chen Yuan soothed her as if she were a small child, stroking Jiangg Ning’s hair with a voice full of affection.
A frightened Ningning was actually quite cute. With all her defenses down, she looked so touchingly vulnerable that he couldn’t help but want to press a kiss to her red lips and wipe away the tears of fright from the corners of her eyes... The way her lips pouted and how she gently bit the edge of one made Chen Yuan’s heart melt.
...
When the horror movie finally ended, the two sisters quickly fixed their makeup and did their best to compose themselves. Then, they went to the bathroom one after the other.
Only Chen Yuan remained, a completely ravaged mess, sprawled on the sofa.
His clothes were disheveled, a mysterious kiss mark was stamped on his cheek, his abdomen was covered in red pinch marks, and his leg was numb from being laid on—he didn’t even have to look to know it was probably bright red. Both of his shoulders were soaked.
Chen Yuan stared blankly up at the living room ceiling. He felt like a little white rabbit that a big bear had used to wipe its butt before tossing it aside.
An absolute wreck.
...
The two sisters came out of the bathroom, pulling up their pants. They’d washed their faces; pulling up their pants was purely because they had just used the toilet.
"If it doesn’t all come off, we can just use some makeup remover oil on it later. A little bit of residue should be fine, it won’t hurt your skin."
"I guess that’s what we’ll have to do."
Yaoyao and Ningning chatted side-by-side in the entryway, their steps light. Chen Yuan wasn’t sure what they were discussing; he could only hear them vaguely.
They were discussing how to remove their makeup. Both had arrived wearing light makeup. Having just washed her face, Ningning had simply wiped hers off with a tissue. She wasn’t wearing eyeliner, so it came off easily. As for Yaoyao, her makeup was a mess from crying during the movie. When she’d looked in the mirror, she almost scared herself, so she’d quickly washed most of it off as well.
Now, her fair little face was a bit red from being scrubbed with clean water, and the glossy shine on her lips was gone, leaving her with a simple, fresh-faced beauty.
At first glance, she was like a lotus rising from the water—incredibly beautiful.
In the living room, Chen Yuan was sighing and groaning, periodically picking up his phone to study something with intense focus. You could tell from his expression that he wasn’t happy in the slightest.
"Sigh... Augh!"
"Tsk!"
"Ahem..."
This string of noises made Jiangg Ning look over curiously. "Chen, what’s wrong with you? Are you not feeling well?" she asked, puzzled.
Chen Yuan looked up, a smile on his face that didn’t reach his eyes. ’How could I be happy?’ he thought. ’If the first half of the movie felt like having a girl in each arm, the second half was pure torture. Don’t believe me? Just take a look at the red pinch marks on the soft flesh of my waist and you’ll see.’
"I’m not sick, just a little tired."
He glanced at the time on his phone. It was eleven-thirty at night, but the heavy rain was still pouring down with no sign of stopping. In fact, it seemed to be getting even more intense, as if it wouldn’t be satisfied until the entire city was flooded.
"This rain isn’t going to last all night, is it? What happened to the ’brief thunderstorm’ they predicted..." he muttered to himself.
Jiangg Yao walked over to the window and peeked outside through a crack. The moment she pushed the window open, a wave of misty air and the raw smell of wet earth rushed in. It was not a pleasant scent.
She furrowed her brow.
"Let me check the weather. I got a few more alerts while we were watching the movie. Maybe it’s about to stop?" Jiangg Ning said, pulling out her phone.
"Really?" Chen Yuan asked, overjoyed.
"Why are you so happy about the rain stopping? Do you want us to leave that badly?"
Jiangg Yao crossed her arms, staring at the "young master" with a scrutinizing gaze. She pouted, clearly displeased.
From their initial panic at being caught stalking him, to being forced into Chen Yuan’s apartment to confess and take shelter from the rain, and then to the series of events that followed, they had actually started to enjoy it. The apartment might be small, but being with Chen Yuan was incredibly fun. They didn’t have to suffer the pain of missing him, and they could occasionally sneak a kiss or a touch of his waist... The blushing and heart-pounding feeling was truly addictive.
If the rain stopped and they had to leave now, they would actually be a little reluctant.
"January 20, 11:23 PM. The localized torrential downpour in Lanjing has not yet stopped and is expected to continue until after 3:00 AM. Winds will increase to gale-force, and rainfall will intensify... Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid going out to prevent flood-related dangers. Pedestrians should be mindful of road conditions and watch out for sinkholes, as some manhole covers have collapsed. The local rescue team can be reached at..."
Jiangg Ning finished reading in a soft voice and looked up. "It seems... we won’t be able to leave tonight."
"Yay, yay!" Jiangg Yao cheered.
"Agh!" Chen Yuan threw the blanket over his head, wanting to die of despair.
"Wait, Yaoyao, come here for a second."
Jiangg Ning suddenly called her sister over to the entryway. Her expression was not pleasant. Only when they were far enough away that Chen Yuan couldn’t hear did she whisper, "Yaoyao... if we can’t leave tonight, doesn’t that mean the three of us will have to sleep together?"
"Oh, right... sleep together..."
Jiangg Yao gulped, her expression suddenly becoming strained.
’Sh-sharing the same bed?’
That would be way too wild.
