Chapter 372: Kaizer Interferes
Booooooom!
The Underworld shook violently as an unimaginable explosion of golden light consumed the heavens. Every mountain, kingdom and abyss was swallowed beneath its radiance until even shadows ceased to exist. Demons across countless territories instinctively covered their eyes while others screamed as the brilliance overwhelmed their vision.
For several long seconds the world itself seemed to disappear beneath that overwhelming light before it gradually began fading away. As the radiance receded, an immense wave of heat rolled across the entire Underworld, racing over continents with terrifying speed. Oceans rippled, volcanoes answered with violent eruptions and even distant kingdoms felt their palaces tremble beneath the aftershock.
Swoosh!
When the blinding light finally disappeared, only two figures remained exposed within the heavens.
Sol sat calmly upon his magnificent golden throne while Leo rested lazily beside him, his enormous body completely untouched by the destruction. Everything else had vanished beneath a colossal shell of solid gold.
Gildreach Vault itself had transformed into an enormous golden sphere that protected every district, every citizen and every structure beneath its embrace. Even Lazarus and Hagrid had disappeared inside the metallic sanctuary.
Moments later the immense shell softened, becoming liquid before flowing downward like countless waterfalls. Rivers of molten gold streamed back into the city from which they had come, rebuilding towers, streets and bridges exactly as they had been moments earlier.
The city itself was Lazarus’ greatest weapon.
"Ooh?"
Sol raised a single eyebrow.
His attention slowly drifted toward Hagrid, whose body remained motionless where Lazarus had left him.
"Must I repeat myself?"
Golden light shimmered within Sol’s pupils.
"Authority: Dominion!"
Buzz!
Hagrid’s eyes instantly turned brilliant gold. His body stiffened before taking a reluctant step toward Sol, completely betraying his own will. Yet before he could take another, a glowing insignia materialized upon his forehead. His entire body froze once again, caught between two absolute commands.
"Authority: Possession."
Lazarus’ cold voice echoed across the heavens.
"Where do you think you are going with my possession?"
Sol slowly frowned.
"Be Gone."
He uttered the words with absolute certainty but nothing happened.
Buzz!
Instead, the same insignia appeared upon Lazarus’ own forehead. He casually brushed his golden hair backward before looking directly into Sol’s eyes with an unmistakably mocking smile.
"Everything that is mine remains mine alone. Everyone who falls beneath my command is forever beyond your dominion."
Silence followed.
Sol stared at him without blinking.
Neither prince moved. The uncomfortable stillness stretched on for nearly a full minute, becoming so oppressive that countless demons below unconsciously lowered their heads. Even breathing became strangely difficult beneath the weight of their mutual hostility.
Finally Sol spoke.
"Your puny inheritance can resist my divine authority?"
His voice remained calm.
"Is that what you are trying to say?"
Buzz!
Despite the absence of anger, every demon present felt an instinctive chill race down their spine. There was something infinitely more terrifying about Sol’s composure than any roar could ever hope to achieve.
"Yes. Yes, that’s exactly what he meant."
A new voice descended from above.
Buzz!
Sol calmly turned his head over one shoulder while Leo lazily opened one eye.
Hovering several dozen meters behind them stood another colossal figure.
Nearly twelve feet tall, Kaizer floated proudly through the air with both arms folded across his broad chest. Crimson dragon scales gleamed beneath the light while his twisted horns framed an expression filled with unconcealed arrogance.
The city erupted.
Cheers exploded from every district as countless demons pointed excitedly toward the sky.
"The Lord of Wrath!"
"His Highness has arrived!"
"The two princes together!"
Hope surged throughout Gildreach Vault once again.
Even now, Sol’s expression never changed.
He quietly studied the dragon prince for several seconds before a faint smile slowly spread across his lips.
"False gods would naturally gather together when standing before a true God."
He chuckled softly before rising from his throne.
Leo merely watched the exchange with one lazy eye before closing it again. The divine beast saw no reason to involve itself. From its perspective, everything remained comfortably within Sol’s control.
"I intended to visit you after this and give you a proper thrashing for your involvement."
Sol gently rolled his shoulders before twisting his neck.
"This is much more convenient. It saves me the journey."
For centuries rumors had circulated throughout the Underworld claiming Pride, Lust and Wrath stood upon comparable footing. Sol had always found such comparisons insulting. He had simply considered those spreading them too insignificant to deserve correction. Now, however, both princes had delivered themselves before him.
Why would he allow such an opportunity to pass?
"Foolish human!"
Kaizer’s roar shook the heavens.
"It is finally time someone reminds you of your place!"
His crimson aura exploded outward with such violence that clouds across thousands of kilometers instantly dispersed.
"WILD!"
A colossal crimson dragon emerged from behind him.
Its enormous body coiled around the heavens while burning crimson scales reflected endless streaks of lightning. The dragon opened its jaws and unleashed a roar powerful enough to send visible shockwaves racing across the sky.
"WILD!"
Buzz!
Almost simultaneously the heavens opposite Kaizer fractured open.
From within stepped an enormous golden bull whose body resembled living metal. Every movement radiated impossible weight while molten gold flowed continuously through countless engravings covering its body. It lowered its massive head before releasing a furious bellow that rivaled the dragon’s roar.
Standing directly between both divine avatars, Sol remained utterly unmoved.
He calmly lowered himself back upon his throne while Leo finally opened both eyes, his interest having grown slightly.
"You won’t reveal your Wild?"
Leo asked.
"They are not worthy."
Sol answered without even glancing at him.
"Authority: Child Of Light!"
Buzz!
The heavens directly above Kaizer suddenly split apart.
Clouds tore open as though sliced by invisible blades. Beyond them emerged another colossal sun whose brilliance instantly overwhelmed the crimson dragon beneath it. The divine star descended steadily, radiating overwhelming pressure that forced both Kaizer and his Wild to instinctively look upward.
Shock flashed across the dragon prince’s face.
"GO!"
Lazarus’ command thundered across the battlefield.
Without hesitation the golden bull answered.
Steam burst violently from its nostrils as the gigantic construct lowered its head before charging upward. Every step crushed the air itself beneath impossible force while golden shockwaves exploded behind it. It did not fly.
It simply ran through the heavens as though the sky itself had become solid ground.
Sol watched the charging beast without the slightest concern. His throne slowly rotated until it directly faced the approaching bull.
He casually extended one finger and a tiny sphere of sunlight appeared just beyond his fingertip.
It quietly revolved upon itself. With every rotation it expanded faster and faster until the tiny sphere transformed into a blazing miniature sun whose size rapidly eclipsed Sol, Leo and even the throne beneath them.
The surrounding air ignited and reality distorted beneath its impossible heat.
Swoosh!
Without the slightest hesitation, Sol flicked his finger.
The newborn sun shot forward.
Violent shockwaves erupted simultaneously from above and below as the miniature star collided directly against the charging golden bull. The heavens screamed beneath the impact while hurricanes powerful enough to uproot entire mountains exploded outward in every direction. Clouds disappeared instantly, replaced by oceans of blazing light and spiraling infernos that swallowed the battlefield whole.
At the very center of that unimaginable collision, Sol remained seated calmly upon his throne, quietly observing the golden bull struggling against his incomplete star.
"Weep, O demons."
His cold voice echoed across the entirety of the Underworld.
"Today you lose two princes."
