Chapter 832

During the next few days, Anton’s father was made extremely busy by the villagers. Anders kept on healing people. Even though Anders had already healed most of the people in Oakswood Village, more people from the surrounding area slowly trickled into the village. After a while, the trickle became a flood.

It was mostly because the surrounding people had heard about a healer who was healing everyone in the village for free, and not only that, the healer, who was Anton’s father, was extremely generous in providing food for everyone.

Anton and Anna weren’t spared either. They were tasked by their father to help the farmers till the land, and for Anton to cast the Blizzard spell converted into Mana Rain towards the lands. At the very least, Anton and Anna didn’t have to dirty their hands and mostly used their Telekinesis spell to complete the task assigned to them by Anders.

Funny enough, Anna was always followed by several teen girls, two were her original friends, and the rest were the ones who joined the Oakswood village and the ones who just arrived. Anna was also generous in giving out her clothes. Anton was amused to see Anna and her friends wearing extremely gorgeous clothes befitting rich merchants or even nobles, walking around the farms. Because of that, the hems of their clothes became dirty. At first, the girls were anxious since the clothes that were gifted to them by Anna were all new and they were all worth more than a farm, but Anna reassured them by cleaning and mending their clothes using her spells.

Since Anton didn’t want to isolate himself again, which was what he did when he was in Ormunda, he behaved extremely friendly towards the villagers. Because of that, he, too, was surrounded by boys his age. The only reason why the crowd surrounding Anton didn’t grow like the crowd surrounding Anna was that most men of Anton’s age were busy with their chores on their farms.

After Anders was done healing everyone, and most newly arrived could be healed in seconds, Anton and Anna’s father busied himself by joining the appointed mayor of Oakswood in planning the construction of the village. After Anton and Anna had completed their assignment of tilling the lands and watering the farms with Mana Rain, Anders asked them to assist the villagers in rebuilding the houses and other public buildings in the village.

The first structure that they had attended to was the Oakswood Public Hall. Anders planned to establish a portal inside the building that would lead to the Rose Manor in Ormunda.

To follow the plan created by Anderes and some of the village council, they would have to destroy the current building. With the use of spells, it was easy enough for Anton and Anna to complete the job. After that, Anton and Anna just followed the instructions of the carpenters overseeing the creation of the public hall. Mostly, Anton and Anna were treated as building tools. The carpenters would point to them what they needed to do, like lifting beams and nailing them, then Anton and Anna would do it using their Telekinesis spell.

Because of that, the job that would usually take days, or even weeks, was completed in just a few hours.

The only thing that needed to be done was to fill out the Oakswood Village Hall with furniture.

Stolen story; please report.

Most of the materials they used came from the surrounding area. With Anders’s Druid Summons, the villagers assigned to gather wood from the forest easily gathered the necessary materials needed. With several spirit wolves and dire wolves, no monster could get near Oakswood village, so everyone felt safe while working.

Once the Oakswood public hall was complete, Anders used a portal scroll to establish a portal that would lead to the Rose Manor.

Anders planned to gather materials that Oakswood didn’t have from Ormunda to be brought to the village. Anton’s father also planned to use the family’s wealth to hire people from Ormunda to help in rebuilding the village.

Once Anders returned to the Rose Manor and brought back several crafters that would help in rebuilding, Anton and Anna’s father also brought a lot of materials that Anders stored in his spatial storage item.

Because of the resources that Anders brought back, Anton and Anna were finally free from helping in rebuilding the village. Anton and Anders were flabbergasted when the first thing Anna did was bring her friends to Ormunda to shop for the things they wanted, like school supplies, clothes, jewelry, accessories like hats and purses, books, and more.

Anna didn’t even need to ask for coins from Anders since she had already earned a significant amount of coins during her time delving into the dungeons.

Anton also befriended a few of the young men from the village. He knew that he only managed to do so because the villagers were ignorant of his wizardry rank. They knew he was also able to cast spells, but Anders and Anna didn’t share any more information about Anton’s capabilities. Anton had an inkling that his new friends thought that he was a beginner wizard.

While he was hanging out with four of his new villager friends, roaming the forest to hunt for animals for food, one of them commented on Anton.

“My sister went with your sister to your home in Ormunda. She told me that your family is living in a huge fairy tale castle with gardens that bloom with flowers all year long, an orchard that produces the most delicious fruits nonstop, and grain fields that provide grains to your castle without the need for the fields to lie fallow.”

“Well, as you know, Ormunda is a kingdom of wizards, so magic is readily available. That allowed us to have the magic that made those effects possible in our manor.”

“How did your family become extremely wealthy to afford all of that?” One of them asked Anton.

“As you know, my father had become an extremely powerful warrior caster and was able to delve into dungeons. Delving into a dungeon, once you’ve become powerful enough, is an extremely lucrative business.”

Anton didn’t share the fact that he was the one who bought the manor and that he, too, could earn hundreds of thousands of gold coins by delving into dungeons. He didn’t want his new friends to realize that he was an extremely powerful wizard, since he didn’t want them to change how they treat them. For now, they all treated Anton as someone who had become rich but was still a young man who originally came from Oakswood.

In truth, the only reason why Anton wanted to perpetuate the fiction that he was somewhat an ordinary man just like them was that he wouldn’t stay in the village for too long, since he did plan to travel to another continent to join an organization that would allow him to learn the knowledge he was searching for.

At the very least, while he was with the young people of Oakswood Village, he could experience being an ordinary youth, even for just a little while.

Unfortunately for their gang, they didn’t manage to find a lot of forest animals. Just like the people of Rendindura, the wildlife of the continent also experiences a massive drop in their population simply because the undead kill everything that was alive that they had encountered. That meant that both wild flora and fauna were still in the process of rebuilding.

To help the forest, Anton kept casting his Blizzard spell converted into Mana Rain everywhere. He even spent several nights doing it all over the surrounding area. He wanted to assist the lands in their process of recovering their lives a little.
