Chapter 85: OFFICE STARES
It was already the next day in New York and Erika felt a lot better than the previous night that she had ignored everyone. It was already half the day and she had dressed up to go visit Ethan at the office with his lunch as a thank you gift for making her feel better.
She got into her car and drove to the Anderson corporations with the food containers that she had prepared for the both of them.
When she got to the building, every staff’s attention immediately went to her. Erika was only wearing casual jeans and top but she still looked elegant in it.
"Who is that lady?" A staff asked another that was beside her.
"I have no idea, this is the first time am seeing her here", the other staff replied. It was mostly Cassandra and Jasmine that visited Ethan separately at the office so they were quite curious to know who she was.
"Could she be here for the CEO?" A male staff asked the duo who spoke earlier.
"Why do you say so?" The first staff asked the male staff.
"I recognize her to be with boss Ethan at Mr Anderson’s birthday some weeks ago", the male staff whispered quietly because it looked like Erika was walking towards them. They had totally forgotten that they were at the receptionist table.
"Hi", Erika gave the brightest smile that was very much contagious as the staffs smiled along with her. "Which floor is the CEOs floor?" She asked politely.
"It’s the 70th floor", the male staff replied to Erika. "Please use the elevator", he directed her towards the elevator.
"Thank you", Erika replied and entered the elevator, heading to the 70th floor.
"Hey, You didn’t even ask her for her identification card. What if she is a threat? Even the security didn’t stop her", the first staff complained, nudging the male staff.
"Why should I? She seems close with the boss and besides what were you both doing that you didn’t ask her that yourself?" The male staff quickly defended himself. The first staff immediately shut up.
"Do you think she will be our madam soon?" The second staff questioned. "She really looks so beautiful, I love her already", she decided.
"I just hope she is better than that witch, Jasmine", the male staff commented but when he saw their superior walking towards them, he nudged the two other staffs.
"What are you all gossiping about?!" The superior yelled in dissatisfaction. "And you Philip", he pointed at the male staff, "Is this your post?"
Philip immediately apologized to his superior and bolted to his original post. The females had their head low to avoid any glare from the superior. "Hmph....gossips", the superior said in disgust and left.
The elevator door opened and Erika searched for Ethan’s office but she had to pass some other staffs as well who stared at her in awe. She asked another staff, "Please the CEOs office", she requested and the staff just pointed at the direction like as if she was hypnotized.
Immediately Erika passed them, rains of gossips flooded their cubicles. Erika knocked before opening the door to Ethan’s office.
Erika stared at Ethan who had his glasses on and it kind of made him look like a strict professor because of the way he stared at the documents on his table. She continued staring at him, totally forgetting why she had come in the first place.
"Take a picture, it would last longer", Ethan said to her and she smiled. She walked up to him to give him a peck on the lips but he groaned in dissatisfaction so she kissed him deeper for just 5 seconds before parting from him.
"How are you doing today?" Erika asked him as she dropped the food containers on a serving table.
"Busy", he replied with one word. "You brought lunch?" He asked her in surprise.
"Of course, you were the one who always brought me lunch when I was in the office so I thought I should do the same to you", she replied as she started opening the food containers. "I think I might have cooked a little too much", she mumbled when she opened all the containers.
"Don’t worry, am sure you will be able to finish everything", Ethan got up from his chair and strode towards her.
Erika stared at him with a frown when she heard him. "Are you calling me a foodie?" She questioned with an eye brow raised up and hands on each side of her hips.
Ethan quickly shook his head, "Of course not".
Erika stared at him for two more seconds before she looked away. Ethan sighed in relief.
"Come on, let’s dig in". She took a seat and started serving their potions. Ethan followed suit and Erika handed him a plate.
The both of them ate happily with joy as they chatted about random things. Just as Ethan predicted, Erika ate most of the food and finished it all. Where do those foods go to? He asked himself while looking at her petite figure, she has never added weight which made him wonder more.
"Thank you for bringing me lunch", Ethan thanked her.
"Come on, it’s nothing. Although am sure my cooking didn’t taste half as good as yours", she replied.
"Well, am not going to lie. It’s tastes amazing, the best I have ever had", he genuinely said giving her a wink. Something told Erika that Ethan was not talking about the food. She stared at him until he gave her another wink with a grin.
She opened her mouth wide in surprise that he was actually talking about that.
"You pervert", she blushed but tried to hid it while Ethan laughed.
They arranged the empty containers and set it aside. Erika didn’t have anything to do that day. The company was doing okay and she believed that if an emergency came up, Eve would be able to handle it. Although it had only been a short while since she has known Eve, she saw a lot of potential in the young woman.
