Chapter 86: SUDDEN VISIT
Erika stayed at the office with Ethan who can’t seem to focus on his work anymore while Erika laid on the couch as she read through the magazine in her hands.
A knock came in and Peter walked in.
"Good day boss, these are the files you asked forrrr...." he stared at the unfamiliar lady who the boss does not seem to have a problem with by letting her stay in his office with astonishment.
"Peter," Ethan called him and he diverted his attention to his boss instead.
"Sorry boss", he immediately apologized. He handed Ethan the files. He shifted his neck to look at Erika again for only a second and he immediately shifted his neck back. Out of curiosity, he carefully asked,
"Boss, please excuse me but who is that lady?" Peter pointed at Erika.
Ethan stared at Peter for a few seconds and the young man wished he had never asked that question.
"She will be your future madam", Ethan replied and instantly Peter’s eyes brightened with excitement and happiness.
"Really boss?" He asked in excitement and Ethan nodded and continued checking the files. "Good day madam," he greeted Erika whose full attention was on the magazine she was reading.
She was a little surprised to see another man in the office. When did he come in? She asked herself.
"Good day to you too", she greeted back.
Peter noticed the confusion on Erika’s face so he immediately introduced himself. "Am Peter, Mr Anderson’s secretary".
"Oh, hi peter. Am Erika", she politely introduced herself too.
Peter nodded and was about to say something more but Ethan interrupted him before he could even start.
"I have checked the files and they are up to date. You did a good job, you will receive your monthly bonus as usual. You can leave now", he announced as he handed back the files to Peter.
"Thank you so much boss", he appreciated and left the office. The both of them continued what they were doing after Peter left.
"Ethan am bored," Erika complained after some time passed.
Ethan stopped what he was doing to face Erika. "What do you want to do? You want to go out?" He asked her but she shook her head.
"I don’t even know but am really bored", she complained even more. Ethan was about to suggest something but his phone started ringing. It was his dad.
He picked it up and answered and the next second, his vibrant face instantly turned dark. After he was through with the call, he dropped his phone.
Erika noticed his not so happy face anymore and she went to him, "did something happen?" She asked worriedly.
"That was my dad", he replied. "He wants me to go visit Jasmine because Mr Davis said she is not well".
"What?"
"I already said no so we can forget about it", he added with a smile and Erika returned it. She didn’t say anything anymore and went back to sit on the couch.
"So where do you want to go?" Ethan asked her again. Erika took some moments before she answered.
"Let’s go and visit sick Jasmine", she replied.

"So tell me, why do you want to see Jasmine?" Ethan asked Erika. The both of them were in the car heading to the Davis mansion just like Erika had requested all of a sudden which baffled Ethan.
"Her father called saying she is sick and she needs to see you right?" Erika asked him and he nodded. "Then let’s go see her, who knows it might be the last day of her life".
Ethan became was now amused "You are right", he immediately agreed.
It didn’t take long before they arrived at the Davis mansion. The guard let them in after recognizing Ethan. They got to the entrance of the mansion and was surprised to see Mr Davis standing there waiting for the both of them with a smile.
When Mr Davis saw the sports car parked in their mansion, he was very happy that Ethan was able to come but that happiness what short-lived when he saw Erika coming out of the car. A big frown immediately pulled up on his face.
"Ethan, so nice to see you", he greeted Ethan with a smile totally ignoring Erika who was by his side. Erika sized the old man like he was a fool.
Erika only persuaded Ethan to come here so that she can see the sick Jasmine and rub salt on her wound. She was quite bored at the office and she wanted some action.
"Where is Jasmine?" Ethan wasted no time and directly asked the old man. The smile on Mr Davis’s face broadened when he heard Ethan asking about Jasmine. He thought that Ethan was concerned about Jasmine so he happily replied with a bit of a sad tone.
"Jasmine is in her room but it’s locked because she is not letting anyone in. But am sure once you introduce yourself, she will immediately let you in".
Ethan nodded and pulled Erika with him to go to Jasmine’s room. The old man glared at Erika who smiled at him.
They climbed the stairs and got to Jasmine’s room. Ethan was about to knock but Erika stopped him.
Erika knocked but no response. "It’s Erika, Ethan’s girlfriend", she announced. And just like she had expected, the door was immediately opened with an angry looking Jasmine glaring at Erika.
Jasmine was about to bounce on Erika but she gathered herself together when she saw Ethan standing there also. She quickly replaced the glare with a sweet innocent smile like Ethan was blind and he didn’t see her glare at Erika just now.
"Ethan", she whispered with joy and she skipped to hug him but Erika stood in the way on time and she bumped into Erika. Erika was 5’11 inches and Jasmine was 5’5 inches so Erika was so much taller than her. She looked up at Erika with an angry expression like she wanted her dead instantly.
"What were you about to do just now?" Erika asked Jasmine who moved back from her. "Don’t you know that you shouldn’t run like that when you are sick, it’s not good for your health".
Erika looked at Jasmine who does not really appear to be sick but have only lost weight.
"Thank you for your advice", Jasmine replied. She faced Ethan, "Thank you for coming to see me".
"You are welcome", Erika replied on Ethan’s behalf and it only made Jasmine frown even more.
