Chapter 82: FAMILY DINNER
Michael also checked the autopsy report that Erika gave him but it was useless now that they have discovered about the poison. He gave it back to her. When it was time to go home, Michael also followed along.
They got to the mansion that the brothers were staying at when it was time for dinner. Felix and Daniel with their parents were surprised to see her because she had not informed them that she was coming for a visit.
Erika didn’t have any appetite so she excused herself and went to her room. Ethan let her be alone for a little while before he took some dishes on a tray and knocked on her door first before entering. He wouldn’t let Erika be along at a time like this.
At the dining table, there were only 5 people seated.
"What happened to her?" Their father questioned Michael since he was with them when they entered together.
"She is grieving", Michael replied as he took off his glasses. "They were able to get things that could explain the cause of the Hart’s late matriarch’s death. She was poisoned", he concluded.
"What?" Mrs Walters gasped in shock. "She was poisoned, how?" She questioned Michael.
Michael leaned on the chair he was sitting on and explained everything to them. He also didn’t forget to mention who poisoned her. When he was done, he started serving himself.
"I can’t believe that Mary of a woman could be so heartless", Daniel exclaimed. He might have never seen or met the late matriarch before, but he knew that it still wasn’t a good thing to kill an old woman just like that all in the name of wanting to acquire all of her properties and power.
"I agree, she is so evil. I wonder if she has killed someone else before", Felix added.
"Erika must be devastated to find out about this", Mrs Walters mumbled. She pitied her daughter and felt bad for her also.
"Me too but Ethan is there with her and am sure that he will be able to take care of her", said Michael.
Back in Erika’s room, Ethan tried to persuade her to eat but she wasn’t willing. She only hugged him tightly as she shed her tears.
"What did grandma Elizabeth ever do to her?" She muttered. "They might not be on good terms all the time but was that enough for her to result to wanting to have her dead?" She asked.
Ethan shook his head, "No, that is not enough. There are some people who want something so badly that they don’t think straight and the only option they see, they think that it’s the only way", he replied. "She was consumed by her greed and she believed that the only way was to kill the old woman".
"But that is not right," she shifted her head that was resting on his shoulder and Ethan hugged her petite body more tightly. "If she believes that what she did was right, them am going to show her what I can do to make her pay", she firmly added.
"What do you plan to do? I will help you", he offered again. Erika raised her head up to meet his eyes.
"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", she replied with a serious tone. "I will give her that same poison and she would know exactly how it feels". Ethan nodded, thankfully Michael has not burned the bottle along with the shampoo and cream.
"Do you have a plan on how to make it happen?" Ethan asked. He knew that Erika was angry about everything and he would definitely help her in every way that he can. He noticed a glint of evil pass through her eyes as she smirked.

Back at the Hart mansion, every member of the family were seated at the dining table, including Adrain and Felicia.
The servants served them their food and left to stand somewhere close Incase they were needed. Adam sat at the head as usual with Mary seated on his right hand side with a worried expression. Everyone started eating when the servants were done.
"Dad, why did you invite us to this family dinner? It’s quite unusual," Adrain asked out of the blue. Everyone turned their heads to look at him in surprise. What he asked was not wrong after all because Adam had never invited himself and Felicia for dinner personally before so it was quite new for them.
Adam chuckled, "Why not? You are my son and it’s been a while since you have come home to eat with us. It’s mostly your wife I see hanging around here", he replied. From the tone of his voice when he said "your wife", he seemed as if he wasn’t fond of Felicia anymore. Besides the reason he wanted Felicia and Adrain to marry back then was because of her family background but since recently, they had been the one supporting the Evans family so it was of no point to him.
Felicia wanted to shrink on her seat or probably turn invisible if possible.
"What can I say? My wife is quite familiar with everyone here", Adrian remarked to his father’s comment.
The old man chuckled again. "Adrain, I heard that Erika is richer than you", Adam pointed out. "She is now more successful than you and your wife together, how did that happen?" He suddenly asked.
Everyone at the table including Mary were shocked to hear Adam talk about Erika at the dinner table.
"Dad, she is not rich. She is a mistress who is laundering money off a CEO", Felicia corrected. She didn’t like to be compared with Erika like Adam did just now.
"Is that so?" Adam asked. "Then tell me how is she currently running the Walters corporations? One of the biggest companies in the world?" He question Felicia who instantly turned mute. Although she believed that Erika must be using Ethan’s money, she couldn’t connect the dots on how she was the CEO of one of the biggest corporations in the world.
