Chapter 78: CHOKING QUESTION
"Adrain!" Felicia banged open the door to Adrain’s office with so much force that it made a loud sound when it hit the wall.
Adrain pinched the skin between his eyebrows in frustration. He can already feel the upcoming headache. "What do you want Felicia?" He manages to ask.
"Why did you go and see that slut?" She questioned but Adrain didn’t look like he was going to answer her. "Answer me!" She demanded as she was currently furious.
Adrain stood up from his chair to close the door because the employees had left their work to eavesdrop on their conversation. After he locked the door, he went to his chair to sit back down and asked,
"Were you following me?"
"No, I didn’t follow you but you had better tell me why you went to see her", she answered as her chest rose up and down in anger.
"I went there to talk about business with her", he genuinely replied. He had a lot to do and prolonging the conversation is not going to be good for him so it’s better to just say the truth.
"Nonsense! What kind of business talk was it that you needed to go see her? You could have sent her an email or possibly send someone to go have the talk with her but wait a second, why did you need to talk about business with her in the first place?" Felicia questioned finding it unbelievable that he only went there to have business talk.
"Okay", Adrain answered tiredly and continued typing on his computer without bothering to answer her question first.
Felicia saw what he did and it only infuriated her more. Ever since that night that he made love to her, assuming that she was Erika, Felicia couldn’t help herself but despise Erika even more. "Don’t you dare brush me away, Adrain!!" She yelled as she banged her fist hard on the desk.
"What do you want me to say?! I told you that I went there to have business talk and if you don’t believe me, then that is non of my business!" He yelled back in frustration. The headache he was trying to avoid suddenly attacked him with full force. He held his head as if it would fall off.
"Look here Adrain, I know what you are doing. You think I didn’t see how you were checking her out at Mr Gustavo’s party, huh?" She exposed. "I saw everything but am telling you this, you can never replace me with her again. Do you understand me?"
Adrain was shocked to hear Felicia’s words. He didn’t expect it to have been so obvious.
Nevertheless, he didn’t reply to Felicia which infuriated her even more. Now she does not know if she had lost Adrain or not.
"Adrain?!" She called out.
"What is your problem? Leave my office now", he ordered with a cold glare which made Felicia feel a shiver run down her spine. She stood here without moving and Adrain exclaimed louder, "Now!!" Trembling with fear, she quickly bolted from the office.
But she didn’t stop there, she drove to the Hart mansion to complain about Adrain’s behavior to Mary.
"He did what?!" Mary exclaimed out loud. Butler David walked in to serve them their juice and snacks and left after he was done.
"Yes, mum. He said he went there for business talk but am telling you that he couldn’t possibly have gone there just for that", she explained. Just remembering how Adrain’s attention was on Erika at that party made her blood boil. "Urgh...that slut", she groaned.
"So you are telling me that Erika is the CEO of the Walters corporations?" Mary questioned carefully.
"That is impossible mom", Juliet replied from the other couch she was sitting on. "Erika is a poor girl, remember? she might have Ethan Anderson with her but that is never going to change the fact that she is poor".
Felicia on the other hand felt like her heart was being pulled out from her chest. She stole Adrian from Erika only for her to wallow in pain and misery and not for her to find someone better. She clenched her fist in anger.
"I still can’t believe that Erika would be able to catch such a big fish like Ethan Anderson. What kind of spell did she use on him?" Mary asked out loud.
"He is definitely using her and when he is done, he will throw her away like the trash she is", added Felicia as she causally took a sip from her juice. Mary instantly agreed Felicia’s words and Felicia couldn’t be anymore happier.
When he is finished with Erika, she could jump right in and take her place and possibly divorce Adrain, she thought to herself.
The trio talked about random things afterwards, mostly about the sudden change of appearance in Erika until Mary remembered something that she has been meaning to talk with Felicia about for a long time now
"Felicia", Mary called out.
"Yes mum", Felicia replied.
"Look dear, I would like to ask you a question. Its not an offense but I want to know something, why haven’t you gotten pregnant yet?" Mary asked her gently to not make it look like a big issue but the same couldn’t be said for Felicia who choked on her juice.
Juliet who was seated beside her, patted her back gently to ease her choking. "Take it easy".
Felicia calmed down after a few minutes, her eyes were red like she had been crying for a long time. "Here, drink this to feel much better", Juliet handed her a glass of water which she grabbed and gulped the whole content instantly.
"Are you okay now?" Mary asked her and Felicia nodded. She leaned back on the couch and took in as much air as she could hoping that they have forgotten about that question but she thought wrong.
"So tell me Felicia, why aren’t you pregnant yet? It’s been 2 years now since you and Adrain got married but there is nothing, is it that you both are not sexually active or what?" Mary asked.
"I actually thought that could be it but I don’t think it’s possible because the both of them had been active even before they got married", Juliet added. "Isn’t that right, Felicia?"
