Chapter 76: NOT VULNERABLE ANYMORE
Adrain was quite intimidated by Erika’s icy glare that was directed towards him. He had never seen Erika glare at him before because she was always a soft and easy to bully person but the woman in front of him didn’t have those qualities at all. He felt like his neck were going to be torn away from his head anytime soon.
"Why are you acting like this? Are you doing all of this to get my attention?" Adrain blurted out. Erika became even more amused.
"Mr Hart, I think the only attention seeker I am seeing now is you. You came to my company requesting to see me and you used the excuse of being familiar with me", Erika replied. She casually took a sip of coffee from her coffee mug to quench her thirst before continuing.
"As far as I remember, we are divorced. How many times do I need to keep telling you that? Also, what would the media say if they found out that you are chasing after your ex wife whom you cheated on even after being married to another woman? That won’t be too good for your reputation. Besides your company is on the verge of completely going bankrupt due to the scandals that were released 3 years ago. Am I right, Mr Hart?" She mocked. Her blue eyes bore into his intently like she wanted to drown his soul.
Adrain turned stupefied with a stunned expression on his face. Erika smirked when she saw his expression.
"Are you the one that released those pictures and videos?" He questioned her.
"What if I am the one? Will you be able to do anything about it?" Erika questioned back taking another sip from her coffee mug. She checked the time on her wristwatch, realizing that it was almost time for her to go home. She said to Adrain who was glaring at her but it didn’t have any effect on her at all.
"Mr Hart, i think it’s time for you to leave now", she pushed the documents he had dropped earlier further towards him. "As for the documents, I am not reading anything nor signing anything so if you don’t mind, take them along with you", she concluded firmly.
Adrian was infuriated by everything that had occurred since he went inside the office. He had come to the company to make Erika sign the contract thinking that there was still that vulnerable side of her that he could manipulate but he was wrong. Totally wrong, he got humiliated instead and on top of that, she didn’t even open the documents talk more of reading it.
Adrain didn’t know what to say anymore, he took the documents and left angrily not before glaring at Erika first.
Erika watched him leave the office and closed the door before she smiled in satisfaction. Things must be really difficult for him to come and try to force me into a contract, she said to herself. She would really love to see his reaction when he finds out that Felicia has not been faithful to him. She didn’t want to think about those people again and focused more on her work.

At the Anderson mansion, two middle aged men and one middle aged woman were in the garden. Mr and Mrs Anderson were trying to enjoy their tea and take in the beautiful scenery of the garden but Mr Davis keeps on bothering them.
"But the both of them have been friends from the beginning. He can’t just say all those things he said and expect it to go smoothly, he has to fix things. Besides he just met Erika, how can he be sure that she is good for him?" Mr Davis hollered. Since Ethan was not willing to listen to him, he thought of going to meet his friend. With his decision, Ethan might change things, Mr Davis thought to himself.
Mr Anderson sighed for nth time before replying,
"Ethan is not a kid anymore, if he says he is not willing to marry Jasmine anymore then that means he does not want to marry Jasmine anymore".
"And besides, he never really wanted to be with jasmine in the first place. You both were the one who was pushing him to be with her", Mrs Anderson added. "Ethan is an adult and if he chose Erika to be his woman then there is nothing we can do but be happy for him, right Jasper?" She questioned, staring at Mr Davis with a smile.
Mrs Anderson had never favored Jasmine to be her daughter in law but Mr Anderson was the one who kept on pushing Ethan to Jasmine all the time. Now she was very glad that Ethan has found a good woman for himself and for the betterment of their family.
Mr Davis understood the smile on Mrs Anderson’s face and it only made him more annoyed.
"Did you know that I went to the Anderson’s cooperation but the security guards didn’t let me in? They completely forbade me from entering the building saying that they were only following orders and those orders were from Ethan!" Mr Anderson exclaimed, clenching his fist angrily.
"Why did you go to the company?" Mrs Anderson asked Mr Davis. "Have you been bothering Ethan just like you are bothering us now?" she didn’t bother to be polite anymore.
"Listen Cynthia, That is not what I did. I only went to the company to have a word with him and that is all", he quickly defended himself.
"But then why did he ask the security guards to not let you go inside the building unless you did something wrong?" Mr Anderson questioned this time. He had been listening quietly to the words exchanged between his wife and Mr Davis. He found it unnatural for Ethan to give those orders unless Mr Davis bothered him.
"I have no idea", Mr Davis quickly responded. "But what he did is not right, Jasmine has not eaten anything ever since and her health has deteriorated which worries me, please tell Ethan to come and see her", he pleaded.
Mr and Mrs Anderson exchanged looks before Mrs Anderson replied,
"Ethan can’t come. If you want, we can come over to explain things to Jasmine more properly. We would be happy to do it anyway".
