Chapter 75: UNINVITED
KNOCK! KNOCK!!
"Come in", Erika responded from the inside. Erika was in her office working since her paperwork had piled up and she needed to finish them quickly. The knock now was something she did not need at that moment.
"Mam, Someone is looking for you. I asked him if he had an appointment but he said no, he also mentioned that you two know each other so I came to ask you first before I could letting him in", Eve informed when she came inside the office.
Confused, Erika didn’t know if she should let the unknown person in or not. After some thoughts she asked, "Who is it?"
"Adrain Hart, mam". Erika looked at eve in shock. Why was he doing here? She asked herself.
"Have you asked him to leave?" Erika questioned and Eve nodded.
"I did ask him to leave because he didn’t have an appointment but he said that you both know each other", Eve repeated. She stared at her boss who seemed to be having second thoughts if the man should be let in or not.
"Alright, let him in". Erika didn’t know the reason behind Adrain’s unannounced visit but she would love to find out why. Eve excused herself to go bring Adrain.
KNOCK! KNOCK!!
After 20 seconds, another knock was heard in the office. Erika was so annoyed by that sound that she nearly broke her pen. The door opened and Adrian walked in.
He stared at Erika who was wearing a white female business suit with black stripes on it and her hair was tied in ponytail just like the time when she was still in the Hart mansion and she seems to not be in a good mood. Was it because I came unannounced? He asked himself. He didn’t know how to start a conversation with her so it seemed awkward to him. After eve left, Erika didn’t waste anytime and cut to the chase.
"What are you doing here?" She demanded, staring at him intently.
Adrain was quite surprised with she way she spoke to him. "Are you not going to ask how am doing?" As soon as those words left his lips, he instantly regretted it.
Erika furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, was he drunk? She asked herself.
She ignored his question and stated impatiently, "If you are not going to say what you have come here for then I think you should leave". She had a lot of work to complete so she didn’t want to waste time talking with Adrain.
Adrain was stunned again. He realized that he was indeed not saying the reason he came here. He cleared his throat, brought out a document from his bag and dropped it on the desk.
"What is this?" Erika asked him curiously.
"That is the proposal that I have made, you can read through it and tell me when we can sign the contract", he announced as he leaned back on the chair, arrogantly.
Did I just hear him right? A contract? Erika asked herself.
"Mr Hart, if I may have forgotten please remind me when I agreed to sign a contract with you?" Erika questioned staring at the document on her desk while waiting for an answer.
Adrain frowned when she called him so formally. "You didn’t but when you read the proposal that I have brought for you, you would definitely want a contract", he replied with so much courage. "I have been sending your company emails consecutively but you keep rejecting or maybe it was a mistake, i don’t know. So I thought why not bring the proposal to you personally".
Erika scoffed, "Mr Hart. I assure you that it was not a mistake because I was personally the one who sent you those rejected emails and the reason is quite obvious. I don’t want to partner with your wretched company", she replied with a smirk as she used her index finger to push the documents back to him.
"I never knew that Mr Adrain Hart could result to this method by inviting himself to his ex wife’s company that he was so disgusted with just for a contract. Did your ego die somewhere, Mr Hart?" She taunted.
Adrain felt humiliated by what she said even though it was only the both of them who were in the office. "You are only the CEO of this company because Ethan Anderson gave it to you", he barked.
HAHA!
Erika laughed at his words. "How can Ethan give me this company when it’s named the Walters corporations. They are two different names Mr Hart, use your head".
"Then you must have seduced him to be by his side. You are really the slut like they said you were, you disgust me" he barked. He was expecting Erika to get angry at his words but instead she laughed again.
HAHA!
"Look, Mr Hart. I don’t care if I disgust you or not because I am not living to reach your expectations. As for the slut you just called me...." she paused before continuing. "You would be surprised that there is a special member of your family who fits perfectly in that category".
Adrain frowned again when he heard what she said. "What do you mean?" He questioned.
"Are you asking me? I thought you had a good eye of identifying sluts but you can’t identify the one in your family?" She asked. She didn’t want Adrain to find out the true colors of Felicia yet because she had not gathered other videos of her. She had a feeling that Felicia had many other men outside of her marriage that she was satisfying but if Adrain was smart, he would probably get a hint but he was raging in anger that he couldn’t even understand what she was saying.
Adrain didn’t want to spend anymore time thinking about the riddles she had uttered. "Erika, read the proposal", he ordered.
"It’s miss Walters to you and as for this," she pointed at the documents. "I never signed an agreement with you promising a contract now did I?"
