Chapter 38: BACK
Jasmine paused with her hands stretched out forward, ready to wrap itself around her father.
"That is not necessary, let’s go home", he said and walked away.
Jasmine looked at her father’s back and could only sigh helplessly. Mr Davis has told her that she would be out from jail but she spent a full year in it. The person who came to visit her the most was her mother and the number of times that her father came to visit her could be counted on a palm and he never seized the chance to reprimand her about what her actions had done to their company. But she was glad that he was the one who was picking her up.
She sighed again and followed her father to his car and the driver drove off.
"So Dad how is Ethan?" Jasmine asked her father who was seated beside her on the back seat.
"Ethan? He is busy courting that woman. Look here, i want you to do everything you can to make sure that Ethan marries you," Mr Davis said.
"But dad, you said she is related to the Walters right, if I offend them then things won’t go well for us anymore".
"Seduce him or anything, make him get you pregnant. Just do everything you can to make sure that you become Mrs Anderson", Mr Davis spat out frustratingly to jasmine and the latter nodded.
Jasmine misses Ethan and even though he was the one who put her in jail, she never hated him for it. That woman has stolen her Ethan away from her now it was time for her to take him back.

"You are going away?" Ethan asked Erika who was seated on the couch in the living room munching on snacks while watching a TV show. "When?"
"Tomorrow", she replied.
"Tomorrow?! Why didn’t you tell me earlier?" Ethan asked Erika feeling perplexed. He just came over to their mansion to have some special time with her but got informed by her that she would be going to California.
"I was just told yesterday by Felix, he said there was an issue with the company branch in California", she explained. It wasn’t her fault that she had to go over there. An emergency just suddenly came up.
Ethan on the other hand didn’t want her away from him while he was still courting her and also because she was going back to the city where the people who messed up her life stayed. He was sure that Erika had similar feelings for him but was scared to admit it, he totally understood her and although it had been a year that he had started courting her, he would never give up but wait for her.
"Alright then", Ethan replied when an idea popped up in his head. Erika was a little taken aback by his reply. She thought he would try to stop her or follow her there. She sighed, Ethan had a multibillionaire company to run and he can’t continue following her everywhere she goes, she thought.

At the arrival section in the airport, Erika and Monica dragged her luggages along with them toward the exit of the airport, waiting for the chauffeur to come pick them up.
Immediately they came out, a banner was already held up with both of their names written on it. They both strode towards the banner and came to stand in-front the man who was holding it up.
The chauffeur was assured that it was them and they entered the car and drove away.
In the car, Erika looked at the tall buildings and beautiful trees that surrounded them. It felt like it was just yesterday that she left this city to begin anew. She didn’t want to think about the things she went through when she came to this very same city to fight for her love for someone who didn’t even love her. In just a blink of an eye, three years have already passed. She sighed.
Erika closed her eyes and opened them to fight back the memories that wanted to resurface in her mind. She looked at Monica who seems to be asleep. No wonder the car ride was peaceful and quiet, she smiled.
They arrived at their destination after almost two hours of driving. They will both be staying at Monica’s place. Erika woke up Monica when they arrived and the servants helped to carry their bags in the house and drop them at each owner’s respective rooms.
"Wow, it’s so good to be back!" Monica exclaimed.
"What are you so happy about? It hasn’t even been a month you left here", Erika said as both of them walked on the long stairs.
"Oh, you see. When I had to clear up my schedules for a full month, I had to travel around you know. So I was not always home. In fact, I traveled to see you in New York from Japan", Monica explained to Erika and she nodded at Monica’s explanation.
They both went to their rooms to get ready for the night. They arrived at the evening plus the time it took them to reach the house, it was already dark outside. Erika wanted to go to the company to see what was happening there but it was already late and she was also tired so she decided to go there tomorrow morning. They both had dinner and went to sleep.
The next morning, Erika woke up early and prepared to go to the company. The drive there was quite a distance but she was able to arrive on time.
The building was not as big as the one in New York but it was fairly big enough and looked moderate.
Erika entered the building and showed her ID to the security guards and when their eyes landed on the name written on the card, they all bowed respectfully to her. Erika nodded at them and put back the card in her bag and strode inside elegantly.
The clicking of her heels on the clean marble floor attracted the attention of the people who went in and went out. They all stopped to look at the lady.
Erika went to the elevator to ride to the last floor of the building, the current CEOs office. She opened the door and went in without knocking and what she saw was totally the opposite of what she thought she would see.
On the couch, was an old fatty who was sleeping and snoring like a pig. The desk had so many files on top of if that needed to be worked on but the man was sleeping.
Erika thought that she would see a young man probably Felix’s age but she met a pig in disguise of a human. She felt so angry that she grabbed a glass of water and splashed it on him.
The man jumped, waving his limps around as his fat belly shook, he was annoyed that someone dared to wake him up from his nap and that too to be a woman whom he had never met.
He stood up and yelled angrily, "HOW DARE YOU DO THIS?! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!"
"I very much know who you are but I don’t think you will be able to handle the shock if you know who I am and what I am here for," Erika replied to the old man while glaring at him coldly.
