Chapter 379: CONFIRMED
Stabs after stabs pierced Adrain’s stomach, and blood gushed out with each stab. His body weakened and he couldn’t move anymore, just stared at Trey in shock until the latter finally stabbed him the last time.
Thick red blood spilled out from his mouth, landing on his shirt and ground, making the floor look even filthy than it already was.
Seconds later, Adrain slammed on the ground, his breathing ragged until he took his last and final breath. He was dead.
"I thought we didn’t plan on killing him. We only planned to scare him,’’ Jay said, glaring at Adrain’s dead body. "Now, how are we going to get rid of his body?" He asked.
Trey didn’t immediately respond to Jay’s question. Firstly, he walked towards the towel that belonged to Adrain and picked it up to clean up the stains of blood on his face and as for the ones on his shirt, he left them that way.
"I have no idea how we are going to deal with this problem," Trey replied with a pant. "We have to hide his body somewhere before the wardens find out what we had just done else, we could get into big trouble for it," he quickly suggested, spewing out the idea that got into his head.
Jay glared at Trey before he face-palmed himself. "Hiding his body won’t help, we have to leave him the way he is like this," said Jay.
Trey frowned, "Won’t we get into trouble by leaving him here?" He asked.
"And where do you plan to hide his body? This is a prison and if we dare leave this place with a dead body, the security cameras will capture our movements. We have to leave him like that."
"And what if we are asked what could have killed him, what do we say then?" Trey asked, truly scared since his verdict would only extend longer if any of the wardens found out he murdered while still in prison.
Jay glanced at the body of the inmate that had been earlier stabbed by Adrian and replied.
"We could just cook up something by simply saying that both Adrain and Mack fought and ended up stabbing each other in the stomach with the bottle."
The other inmates heard of the plan and nodded in agreement. It was not completely foolproof but they could just pretend they didn’t know anything and give an idea of why two inmates died on the same night and same location.
"That’s a brilliant plan," Trey immediately agreed. Looking at Adrian’s body, he quickly urged, "We’d better go now before someone catches us before we go," he paused, looking at the inmates with a warning look as he warned, "None of you should reveal about what happened here to any other person. If you do and I hear someone else talk about what happened here, I’m going to stab that person just like I stabbed Adrain and you saw how quickly he died. That will be the same way you will die."
Everyone immediately nodded in understanding and promised not to reveal what happened in the bathroom to anyone.
Quickly, they stepped out of the bathroom and ran back to the cell rooms.
—
"Where’s Adrain and Mack?" A warden questioned every one of the inmates; most of them didn’t know what had happened to Adrain and Mack while the ones who knew lowered their heads and shook it slightly, hoping they wouldn’t be caught.
It was still early in the morning and when the wardens had counted the inmates, they noticed that two people were missing.
Without wasting any further time, the wardens quickly raised an alarm for the search of both Adrain and Mack.
"They could have escaped," someone said. Trey quickly looked at the inmate that just spoke and when he saw that it wasn’t one of his men, he wiped away his sweat and nudged Jay by the elbow.
"I hope none of them speaks."
"Shush," Jay shushed him when he noticed a warden staring at them with suspicion.
Viper glanced at Trey and Jay, the ones who’d always caused Adrain trouble since he came. He didn’t need anything to be said to him for him to know what had happened.
Some of the wardens stayed with the inmates while some left to search for both Adrain and Mack.
Viper sat lazily on his hard bed, thinking about his life which had been a daily hobby for him since he got arrested when he noticed Trey and Jay whispering to each other again.
"Adrian is dead, that’s surprising," he said to himself.
Some of the wardens that had left earlier to search for Adrain and Mack returned to Inform the others that they had been found in a bathroom, stabbed to death.
"Who was the one who committed the murder?" A warden questioned, knowing fully well that it was an inmate that could have done such a thing. It was not surprising that they saw dead bodies at all since it was sometimes their morning tea which they would have to sip.
It had been known that some of the inmates held grudges against one another and the hate would lead them to kill the other and leave it for them to clean off the mess and most of the time, the murderer wouldn’t be caught. It was the same thing that was happening at that moment.
Another murder had taken place and no one was willing to call out the name of the person who did it.
"I asked, who was the one that killed Adrain and Mack?" The warden repeated the question but the only thing that greeted him was silence. "Every one of you would be punished for this issue if the murderer doesn’t reveal himself right now!"
The warden gave them a few seconds but still, they all insisted on keeping quiet. They would rather take the punishment than be killed off by Trey just like he did to Adrain.
