Chapter 371: DISAPPOINTMENTS
Felicia glared hard at Erika, wishing she could cut Erika to shreds with just eyes but Erika stared back at her with calm, cool eyes. "What do you mean by Jake is now your son?" She asked.
"It means I’ve adopted the sweet little boy. He’s now my son and I love him. He’s at my house now, playing with my other two sons and they love him too as their big brother," Erika replied calmly, which wasn’t a lie at all.
Since Jake had been living with them, she had watched as both John and Luca had gotten close to Jake and treated him as their big brother which was a good thing even though they were not related by blood at all. And Jake treated them well.
"That’s my son that you are calling your son and I hope you do realize that he’s MY SON," Felicia reminded, emphasizing ’my son’ so that Erika would understand where she was heading with the conversation Erika nodded in understanding.
"I know," Erika agreed. "But since you and Adrain are too busy serving your punishments, I don’t think that either of you would be able to take care of him and I did. Shouldn’t you be thanking me right now, Felicia. Also, can you drop the act of caring for him? You and I both know how much you hate Jake and you don’t see him as your son at all. You only see him as some pawn in your games but unfortunately for you, you lost in every round." Erika smirked as soon as she was done talking. Felicia’s facial expression was just as ugly as she’d expected it to be.
The woman was boiling in anger that she wouldn’t be able to contain any more of Erika to say any more words regarding Jake.
"You stole from me, do you know that?" Felicia questioned Erika through gritted teeth as tears swelled up in her eyes which surprised Erika a bit since she’d never seen Felicia cry, ever.
"And what exactly did I steal from you?" Erika asked.
"You stole Adrain from me. The only man I loved back then, you got married to him by convincing his grandmother and then he married you."
Erika frowned, a little confused by Felicia’s accusation. "Have you ever thought that if you had been a good woman back then Grandma Elizabeth would have asked you to be his wife then but then again, you said you loved him very much, so why did you cheat on him behind his back with several old rich men? Because you are a greedy person.
"You have never been satisfied with what you have and your eyes only sought for something larger and when you do find them, you want to have them for yourself."
"That’s why you keep calling Ethan yours when you know perfectly well that he was never yours. You know Felicia, I want to thank you for taking Adrain away from me because if you hadn’t, I wouldn’t have met Ethan, the love of my life."
"Shut up!!" Felicia barked out loud, gaining the attention of the other people who were in the visiting area but she didn’t care at all. Her main focus was on Erika. "You have always been the root of all of my problems. Why did you ever have to come into my life in the first place?!" She demanded.
"It hurts, doesn’t it?" Erika asked while Felicia frowned in confusion. "You must have thought that everything you’d planned to do to me would work but unfortunately, it took a very bad turn and you ended up here without anything to call your own.
"No one loves you in this life anymore. Your parents, you don’t even know if they are alive since you never contacted them since you arrived in this city? Am I wrong? And the same thing goes for your brother, you never contacted him as well."
"You abandoned all of your family members just to make my life a living hell. Honestly, Felicia, I don’t know if I should feel flattered by your actions or call you stupid. If you had changed your goal and chose to do something better with your life, you wouldn’t be living like this, I’m sure of it."
"I would never live in peace knowing that you are alive and breathing well and also living a good life while I’m stuck here. If I don’t end you in this life, Erika, I will be waiting for you in the next one. That’s a promise," Felicia threatened and Erika sighed, tired.
Even though she didn’t want to care about what Felicia did in jail, she still wished the latter would do something good with her life even for once but no, all she wanted was to destroy someone else’s life even when hers was already ruined.
"I don’t think that would be a good idea for you Felicia. If you do anything stupid. You are going to lose your own life because of it."
"I don’t care at all, you must pay for everything that you’ve caused in my life and I will never be at peace until I see your body in front of me, Erika."
’All she can think about is to make threats, can’t she just think of something else even for once?’ Erika wondered as she continued to stare at Felicia.
"You know, the main reason I came here was because I was considering letting Jake see you for the first time. I’ve already taken him to see Adrain and they got along pretty quick but looking at your current behavior, I don’t think you are in your right state of mind to see my son," Erika said as she hissed in disappointment, not minding the expression of surprise on Felicia’s face.
"You took Jake to see Adrain?" Felicia asked as if she didn’t hear what Erika said the first time.
"And do you know the worst thing? He has never asked for his mother before."
