Chapter 372: POISONED HIS MIND
Felicia stared at Erika, not wanting to believe what she’d said.
"That’s impossible. It’s impossible that he wouldn’t have asked about me unless you’ve poisoned his mind regarding me. You snake, you think I don’t know what you are planning to do? You claim to do good things but here you are lying that Jake hasn’t even asked about me, not even once and you expect me to believe all that nonsense?" Felicia scoffed even though she was hurt by Erika’s words.
"I’m not lying, Felicia. It’s the truth. I was in the car with him half an hour ago when we were coming back from seeing Adrain and he never once asked about his mother. Not even one bit. I, myself was surprised about his actions but I can’t blame him. He shouldn’t need to care about someone who doesn’t even care about him at all," Erika explained with a faint smile on her lips.
She had been surprised herself when Jake didn’t once ask about his mother. She’d informed him that his mother was in jail but he didn’t ask if he could see her and she’d been expecting that question after he saw Adrain but no, the little boy seemed to not want to have anything to do with Felicia.
But looking at Felicia now who seems that her world is about to break apart after hearing her, Erika didn’t know if the woman was sad about that but why would she? She never cared about Jake one bit.
"Do you want me to bring him here for you to see him even if it was just once?" Erika asked but she knew deep inside her that Felicia would object to that idea.
"I don’t want to see him especially after you’ve poisoned his mind about me. Do you think I want to see him acting so close to you while I watch from here and not even get a chance to hug him?" Felicia asked, stunning Erika.
"You want to see him?" Erika asked, not sure of what the answer would be since Felicia had been confusing her with her words since she arrived but the threat she made earlier, she knew it was no joke at all. That lady would kill her if she had the chance.
Felicia glared at Erika, gritting her teeth and trying to force words out of her mouth but she couldn’t. Her hands were clenched together as if she was about to hit someone or something.
These actions of hers have been something that Erika had seen her do all the time especially when she was angry but this time, she didn’t know if Felicia was acting this way because she was angry anymore.
"Even if it was a little while. 10 minutes."
Those were the only words that Felicia could force out of her mouth and Erika would be lying if she said she wasn’t surprised at all.
"To be honest Erika, I want to see him and hold him for just a short time. And at the same time, I’m very very angry at you for what you did to me. You are still the reason I’m in jail," she concluded.
Erika was stunned again. For a split second, she had thought that Felicia was about to change just like Adrian was wishing he could but Felicia had burst her bubbles by blaming her for something that wasn’t her fault at all.
"Are you serious?" Erika asked.
Felicia glared at her for a few seconds before she nodded her head.
"Just for a little while then you can take him away and never bring him back," Felicia replied.
Erika frowned but didn’t ask why she wouldn’t want to see him anymore. But now that Felicia wanted to see Jake for the first time after many years, she couldn’t help but look at Felicia with suspicious eyes.
When Adrain kidnapped her some years ago and they lived under Adrain’s mansion, Felicia didn’t attempt to kill Jake but could that be because Adrain was around that time? Erika thought to herself.
Felicia hates Jake, that was a fact, and wanting to see him is raising questions in Erika’s mind.
"I will see what I can do but I won’t force the boy to come see you if he doesn’t want to," Erika said. "But if he later agrees to see you and you dare to harm him in any way, Felicia, I will kill you right here and the dogs eat your dead body," Erika threatened.
Felicia nodded with a glare but she didn’t say anything anymore. Without wasting a second like she did when she visited Adrian, Erika stood up and left the visiting area.
Felicia glared at her back until she finally disappeared.
The warden who had brought Felicia took her back inside into the cell room when Madam Laura was having her massage done by one of the inmates. She gave her a dirty look as soon when she saw that she was inside but Felicia didn’t pay her any mind.
Walking to her section that only consisted of the bed, Felicia laid on it and closed her eyes as a smirk played on her lips.
"I heard that you went to see Erika. Why didn’t you tell me so that I could go and see her as well?" One of the inmates asked, her voice was very familiar but Felicia didn’t bother to open her eyes since she knew who was talking.
"I didn’t see you around and even if I did, I won’t let you go with me since Erika wanted to see ME," Felicia emphasized the ’me’ as she replied to the person. "And besides, if she’d wanted to see you, she would have requested to see you as well but she didn’t, which means she doesn’t want to see you one bit, Mary."
Slowly, Felicia opened her eyes and stared at Mary who was already staring at her as she continued.
"Now will you leave me alone?"
