Chapter 337: SURRENDERED
When Ethan sighted his children whom he had not been able to see for the past three months, more anger fueled in his chest as he turned his gaze to glare at Viper.
"I’m sorry for what I did but I hope you will be able to forgive me one day," he pleaded.
Ethan stared at Viper, both in confusion and anger, not quite understanding what the latter was spewing out.
It didn’t take long before the officers arrived at the scene, viper didn’t fight back as they assumed he would and followed the police officers without fighting back. Sooner than later, Viper was arrested and taken to the police station.
No one bothered to follow them. Erika had just arrived and they would go to the police station later.
Ethan ushered Erika inside the house before he carried Luca in his arms.
"How are you?" he asked her, looking into her blue eyes that looked pale. "Are you hungry?" He asked, but before she could reply to his question, he shoved Luca back into her arms and rushed into the kitchen to prepare a meal for her.
Erika’s mother led her into the living room while she glanced around the interior which still looked the same since more than a year ago—when both she and Ethan went to Spain.
Not a single thing had been changed and being back into the house, she felt the warmth she’d missed for so long.
"You need to go take a shower dear?" Mrs Walters said to Erika and she nodded her head in understanding. She placed the baby in her father’s arms and walked up the stairs, to the room that they had given to her when they’d bought the mansion.
As soon as Erika opened the door to the room, she perceived Ethan’s scent in every corner of the room. His clothes were scattered everywhere probably because he didn’t have the time to arrange them properly.
She smiled, then walked towards the closet to bring out new sets of clothes.
When she dropped the clothes on the bed and started taking off the ones she was wearing, the door abruptly opened. Instinctively, Erika covered herself up but once she saw who was at the door, she released a sigh of relief.
"Did you think it was someone else?" Ethan asked her, finally smiling at her.
Before Erika could reply, she felt his breath on her neck as he hugged her dearly. She also hugged him back before she said,
"I need to take a shower. I stink."
"You don’t stink to me," said Ethan.
"But I still need to shower."
Ethan sighed before he released her and walked towards the bed.
"I thought you were going to prepare food for me," said Erika.
"My mum is doing that and you know that she’s a better cook than I am," he replied, waiting for her to start taking off her clothes.
Erika hesitated a little before she pulled off her top. Ethan noticed the way her ribs popped out when she raised her hands to completely take the top off.
"Did he ever feed you at all?" Ethan asked, walking up to her whilst frowning at how many ribs he could count clearly. "Did he ever hurt you?" He asked, worried about filling his tone.
Erika shook her head but Ethan found that hard to believe.
"He didn’t touch me for the past three months. The only time I saw him was the day I woke up and the next day before he came here to look for Adrian," she replied, her hands already on Ethan’s biceps. When she wrapped her hand around it, she noticed how much weight he had lost as well. Sighing, she added. "I’m fine," smiling.
"You will be," said Ethan. "You need to shower with warm water. I will be here waiting for you once you are done and together, we will go back downstairs."
Erika nodded before walking to the bathroom. Ethan watched her leave before he sighed in relief.
—
Erika walked down the stairs with Ethan’s hand in hand to the dining room and her foot was all ready. She smiled when she saw her favorite dishes laid on the plait just for her.
Without warning, she rushed and started munching on the food like a starved human. When her mother saw her, her eyes brimmed with tears as she mumbled.
"That wicked soul isn’t feeding you well, is he?"
Erika swallowed the bite that was in her mouth before she replied.
"I’m okay mum. I just miss home-cooked meals. And as for Viper, that man sure is going through a lot."
Everyone at the table stared at her with confusion, wondering what she might be implying, including Ethan.
"What do you mean?" Ethan asked her.
Erika turned to glance at him with another mouth full of food before she replied.
"Viper’s late wife looks just like me and he lost his two sons," she started, feeding everyone the information about Viper until she finished, then carried on with her food.
"He could be lying. I ran through his track records and never for once did I see him having any sons who were dead," said Felix, finding everything hard to believe.
"The man did close the track leading to his late wife. It is possible that he could have closed the tracks leading to him having two sons," said Edward, completely believing everything that Erika was saying.
"And so what if you looked like his late wife? That doesn’t mean he should kidnap you for any reason at all," said Ethan. "He’s a criminal," he spat, his blood boiling again and he suddenly had the urge to go to the police station and punch Viper until he was satisfied.
"So what are we going to do about Adrian? That jerk has gone missing again and this time, even Viper doesn’t know about his whereabouts," said Felix.
"He will be caught one day for sure," replied Edward.
