Chapter 336: FINALLY HOME
"Any news about Adrian’s whereabouts?" Felix asked Edward, looking into the computer that the latter was typing on aggressively.
"I still can’t find anything yet. He truly disappeared without any trace. Edward informed me the other day that he went to the last location where Adrain had last been spotted but when they got there, he was gone again," Edward replied, whilst his focus was still on the computer, typing. "My men also informed me that Viper has traveled out of the city," he added.
Ethan who had been pacing around with a huge bandage wrapped around his head paused before asking Edward.
"And where did he go?" He asked.
"He went to Boston. That was also the city he was in at the time Erika had been kidnapped. Even though no clue is leading to him being the culprit, I still suspect that criminal," said Edward.
Ethan and Felix glanced at each other, pondering on what Edward had just said. They also had their suspicion but their question was, "Why would a viper kidnap Erika? What for?"
It had been three whole months since Adrain’s disappearance and Erika’s disappearance which made them suspect Adrian the most, especially because he’d gotten her kidnapped once before.
The other family members were in the living room, listening to their conversation while their hearts ached for when Erika would come back to them.
All of a sudden, they heard a car horn in front of the mansion. Everyone glanced at each other with questionable gazes, wondering who the new visitor would be—they hadn’t been expecting anyone at all.
Ethan walked out of the house and his eyes widened in surprise when he sighted the person whom he’d been looking for for the past three months.
He watched as Erika stepped down from the car, smiling at him while her eyes brimmed with tears.
Without wasting a second, he rushed towards her and wrapped his hands around her in a big while lifting her abruptly which surprised her.
"Ethan..." she mumbled his name as she nuzzled her head in his neck, taking in his scent which she had missed for the past few months.
When the other family members noticed how long Ethan was taking to come back into the house, they rushed outside in case they had been under attack again. And once they saw him hugging a familiar lady, they halted their steps, each of their faces showing an expression of surprise.
Ethan hugged her Erika for the longest time ever and when he noticed that she seemed smaller than usual, he released her to stare at her body.
"You’ve lost weight," he commented. Before Erika could reply, Ethan’s gaze was suddenly directed to the other person who stepped down from the driver’s seat.
Sighting Viper, Ethan dropped Erika on her two feet and dashed towards Viper. Before the latter could make a run for it, he felt a painful sting on his left cheek, the impact was so painful that he’d spat out blood and a white object fell from his mouth—his tooth.
"You bastard!" Ethan cursed as he continued to punch Viper across the face.
The sons of the Walters didn’t bother to stop Ethan since they knew even if they intervened, he wouldn’t listen to them. They also enjoyed how Viper was getting beaten up.
Mrs Walters rushed towards to hug her when she noticed that she was going to intervene.
"Let it be. He deserves to get beaten up for taking you away from us for so long. "Felix, call the police." She ordered and Felix gladly pulled out his phone from his pocket and proceeded to dial the police officer’s number.
"No! Ethan might kill him even before the police officers get here and then Ethan would be in trouble," said Erika as she released herself from her mother’s grip before rushing to where Ethan was beating the hell out of viper. "Ethan, you need to let him go," she pleaded.
She tried to pull him by the shoulders but unfortunately, he was way too strong for her tiny, petite frame so she beckoned Felix to assist her. Even though the latter didn’t want to assist, he didn’t want Ethan to get into trouble for committing possible murder.
The others also assisted and somehow managed to pull Ethan from the viper while the latter scrambled away for his dear life—placing his hand on his chest to control his breathing.
He had assumed that since Ethan was still health stricken, he would be weak and not be able to fight him with so much power but he had underestimated him. And he was sure that if the others didn’t intervene, he would have lost his life even before he’d explained his actions.
"How dare you kidnap Erika?! What sort of intentions did you have for doing such a thing?" Ethan questioned Viper while he glared back at the injuries that he’d inflicted on him.
"I’m truly sorry for what I’ve done. I wasn’t in my right senses when I’d done it and I also reject that I did such a thing. I should have fought back the idea when it came to my head. I’m sorry Ethan," Viper apologized, which shocked everyone except Erika since he’d already told her earlier he was going to apologize for his actions.
She wasn’t supporting what he’d done and no matter what good he did, it wouldn’t cover the bad he’d done by keeping her away from her family for that long.
"What are you talking about?" Ethan spat out the question with so much spite. "What kind of idea popped into that skull of yours for you to do such a thing?" he added.
Before Viper could respond to that question, the cries of the babies filled the area. Erika darted her eyes around the car in confusion until she remembered that the babies were still in the car.
Quickly, she opened the car and brought them out. Her mother assisted her by carrying John while she carried Luca herself.
