Chapter 323: TREAT HER
"Where are they?" Viper asked the heavy man whom he’d asked to follow both Ethan and Erika since they had gone to Spain. "Luke," Viper called when the man didn’t reply to him and simply darted his eyes around. "Tell me that they are fine," Viper demanded.
"The babies are fine," Luke immediately replied, scared that Viper might shoot him with a gun right there. "But the truck drivers hit the car too hard and now the lady is unconscious. We couldn’t take her to the hospital but her head is bleeding profusely," Luke replied. "They are inside the room but I’ve called for a doctor to attend to them. Don’t worry, the doctor has been threatened by the men to not dare spill out anything." Luke replied in haste as if he was one second late, there would be a hole in his head already.
Viper glared at Luke, trying to understand what he was saying. Impatient, viper walked forward and ordered. "Take me to them this instant."
Luke nodded and started leading the way. The house they were in was completely made of wood, with every step one person took and it would creak as if it was haunted by ghosts.
"They are in here," said Luke as he opened the door.
Viper glared at the bed where Erika had been laid with anger. Erika was lying on the bed that she had been placed in, unconscious, the sheets wet with blood and so were her clothes.
The babies were placed beside her but were fast asleep, their faces red from crying so hard that they eventually slept after getting tired.
"How long will it take for the doctor to get here?" Viper questioned, his voice so fierce but heavy at the same time.
"In about twenty minutes, boss," Luke replied.
"Good. As soon as he’s done attending to her, we are going to leave this country and go back to my hometown. Make sure she’s still unconscious until then. If she wakes up, inject her with anesthesia until we get there. We are going to go far away from this place," Viper ordered and Luke nodded.
Looking at his boss, Luke couldn’t help but voice out the question that had cooped up in his mind for a long time already.
"Boss," Luke called, inching a little close before he continued. "I’ve been meaning to ask, but Miss Erika looks like your late wife, Miss Emma. Are they perhaps the same person but she’d lost her memory?"
When viper glared at him from over his shoulder, like subconsciously inched backward.
"Sorry boss," he immediately apologized.
Viper didn’t say anything anytime soon and kept quiet. When the silence became too loud for him as he stared at Erika soaked in her own blood, he finally spoke,
"That’s not Emma. Emma’s long gone but I’m obsessed with Erika. She reminds me too much of Emma."
Luke glanced at his boss whom he’s served for a long time before his eyes moved to where Erika was and sighed.
"It was a painful experience," he said.
Viper sighed and walked to where Erika was. Her face had been stained with blood and she looked very pale to watch. Viper reached for it and wiped away some blood.
"I know that this might be stupid but I’m already obsessed with her. I need her, in order to heal," he concluded.
Luke sighed one last time, feeling sorry for his boss but he didn’t utter any words of comfort. He was sure that Viper could handle everything.
Receiving a notification from his phone, Luke said, "The doctor is here. I will go get him." Viper didn’t react to his words so he left anyway.
Alone in the room, Viper caressed Erika’s bloody face. Her blonde hair looked darker than usual and he took some locks in his hand and caressed it.
"I’m sorry that it had to come to this but It’s going to get better," he promised, whispering, even though she couldn’t hear him. "And as for your sons, they are going to live a good life. Better than what my sons did," he added, smiling at her.
Luke walked inside the room, interrupting his moment as he pushed the doctor inside.
"Treat her," he ordered.
The doctor gasped in shock when he saw the bloody sheets and complained while pulling out his medical supplies.
"She has lost a lot of blood. Why didn’t you take her to the hospital?"
"Don’t ask unnecessary questions and treat her. Also, check if the babies are okay," Luke added.
It was at that moment that the doctor noticed the two babies that were sound asleep and gasped wondering who those people were.
Viper moved away from Erika and let the doctor treat her. His eyes were red from trying to refrain himself from crying and the doctor couldn’t help but take notice of him since his eyes were darting around the place, taking in every nook and cranny.
’Could he be her husband and the father of the babies as well?’ he wondered but after remembering how he’d been threatened to not say anything to the police or report to anyone where that place was, he immediately started having second thoughts.
Setting his thoughts aside, the doctor immediately got to work. Both Viper and Luke glared at the doctor while he cleaned up her bloody face.
When that was over, the doctor looked at them, finding them looking at him already.
"What’s it?" Viper questioned with annoyance evident in his tone.
Swallowing a huge lump in his throat, the doctor stuttered.
"Her c-clothes are bloody as well. I-I need to take them off and put her in me—"
"No! You are not going to take off her clothes. I will have a woman take them off," Viper interrupted the doctor abruptly before he could complete his sentence. He wasn’t going to let a male doctor see her body.
Viper glanced at Luke and the latter nodded his head before sitting up and leaving the room.
