Chapter 309: SPYING
Erika and the girls continued their baby shopping, oblivious to the man who was following them around while the guards obeyed Erika and made sure to stay behind and not disturb them with their presence.
Adrain glared at Erika’s belly which had a baby’s bump. He was infuriated. His hands clenched tightly as he tried to calm himself down before he did something that he shouldn’t do.
"That jerk impregnated Erika already?" He asked no one but himself as he continued to follow them.
Looking at Erika’s face while she stroked her belly from time to time as she laughed with the other girls only angered him more to the core but he continued to follow them, hoping to find a chance to get to talk to her without one of her friends or the bodyguards seeing him, else he would be in trouble.
When he saw Erika excusing herself to go to the toilet, he grabbed his chance and followed her. Luckily for him, Erika had stopped her bodyguards from following her to the restroom.
Adrain opened the door that led him to the different sections of the restroom and waited in front of the women’s door.
As soon as Erika came out of the restroom, ready to leave without sighting him, he grabbed her hand and pulled her back.
"Where do you think you are going?" He questioned her and Erika raised her head to look at Adrian with wide eyes.
’Can I just stop meeting these people in the mall? First, it was Viper and now it’s him,’ Erika thought to herself with distaste in her mouth.
Erika glared at the black hoodie that Adrian wore and the heavy sweatpants that covered him to his toes and didn’t bother to wonder how he got inside the mall again. One thing was for sure, he was following her.
"Adrain, you finally showed yourself after how many months? Are you now tired of hiding yourself wherever it was?" She asked him with mockery in her tone, intended to piss him off. Her bodyguards were right outside and she wanted to scream but wanted to see if she could get some information from him first. "Tell me Adrian, where have you been hiding?" She asked directly without holding back.
"That’s none of your business," he spat right into her face and Erika didn’t resist and wiped it off with a disgusted look on her face which only annoyed Adrian to the core. "How dare you get pregnant for Ethan?" She questioned her with so much authority that he didn’t have any more—as if they were still married and he caught her being pregnant for another man.
"That’s none of your business," Erika repeated the same words that he said to her. When she saw the anger in his eyes grow, she suddenly wished that she hadn’t done that but she didn’t want to hold back anymore. "Ethan is my boyfriend and I don’t think there’s anything wrong in getting pregnant for him. Besides, we have nothing going on between each other so when are you ever going to learn that I’m not yours Adrain, learn to accept the reality that I’m not yours and will never be yours," she said every word as slowly as possible so that it would sink into his head but she doubted that. His obsession with her has turned him into a lunatic.
Infuriated, Adrian raised his hand and intended to hit her cheek but it paused midway, as if he just understood what he was about to do.
Erika didn’t panic one bit but she screamed instead. She grabbed Adrian’s hands and screamed as loud as she could, wanting to attract the attention of anyone around, especially her bodyguards.
Adrian panicked when he understood what Erika was trying to do. He suddenly wished that he hadn’t left the hideout and decided to stroll around the mall before he saw Erika there as well and decided to follow her.
Adrian released Erika’s grip from his hand and dashed away, right when the bodyguards burst through the door.
"Catch him," Erika ordered the bodyguards and immediately, they started chasing Adrian.
Jasmine and Monica quickly rushed over to ask Erika if she was alright and she nodded.
"Come, let’s wait for them in the car," Monica suggested.
Erika stared at the stairs going down, where Adrian had taken off just before her bodyguards had barged in, and couldn’t help but wonder if they would be able to catch him.
But still, Erika nodded and followed them to the car with their goods in their hands.

"So you’re telling me that you saw Viper here too, the day you came to shop for Ethan’s birthday gift?" Monica asked Erika to be sure she was hearing what she thought she was hearing.
"Yes. I’m starting to wonder if they are spying on me now."
The three girls sighted the two bodyguards from afar but didn’t see any Adrian with them so she lost hope in asking since obviously, they didn’t catch him.
"Let’s go," Erika said and Jasmine ignited the engines of the car and drove away from the mall.

Adrian got inside the hideout with injuries which he got from jumping around places like a monkey to escape the bodyguards. He winced in pain as he took another step forward.
When Felicia saw, she immediately dropped the chips that she was munching in her mouth and rushed to him—assisting in sitting on the sofa.
"What the heck happened to you?" She asked him with furrowed eyebrows.
"Get me a glass of water," he told her.
Felicia rushed towards the refrigerator and poured him a glass of water before handing it over to him.
She watched him drink it like a starved cat which only made her wonder more what he’d done to get himself so injuries like that.
Adrain handed her the glass and she got it and placed it away.
"Did you get beaten up?" She asked him and when she saw him scoff at her question, she asked, "What happened, Adrian?"
