Chapter 206: MISTAKE
After having had his fill, Felix pulled Adrian up to his feet and demanded, "Where is Erika?!"
Still in a daze after being beaten up so badly, Adrian could hardly hear or understand what Felix was talking about.
Both Daniel and Edward grabbed Adrian by his collar and dragged him outside and none of the bouncers could do anything since they were obeying their boss’s order.
One of the men that Viper conversed with earlier tapped his shoulder before asking,
"Isn’t that your right-hand man? Why are you letting him get beaten up and you’re not interfering?"
Viper didn’t reply to the man until after he sat back down, sipped from the drink, and scrolled through his phone nonchalantly, "If I’d interfered, it would only bring more suspicion towards me." He had his guess that those men were taking Adrian to the police station and he didn’t want to be involved since it was only going to complicate things for him.
"Well, aren’t you going to help him out? It seems as if they are going to take him to jail?" The man asked.
"I will," Viper replied. "But I don’t plan on going there now that the issue is still hot," he added.
"Are you not worried that Adrian might spill the beans? Reveal the underground gambling and its location. You have revealed so many things to that man, what if he betrays you and tells the police everything out of fear," the man asked.
"He wouldn’t dare to do that because he will loose everything he has," Viper replied with a nonchalant tone. The man wanted to add something else but when he realized he was butting in too much, he decided to keep to himself.
Viper didn’t let any kind of people come close to him or be in his gambling game, and since he was one of the people who wasn’t close to him, the man seated beside Viper clamped his mouth shut.

Outside, Felix kicked Adrian before throwing him inside the car. The other two got in and they immediately drove to the police.
"Where are you people taking me?" Adrian asked after his eyes and ears cleared. Due to the beating, he felt his body go numb with pain. He could recognize Erika’s brothers of course but not the other one, the one who was driving.
"We are taking you to jail, idiot," Daniel spat. Now that they had been able to catch Adrian, they’d already found Erika or so they thought.
To jail? Adrian repeated in his mind. He couldn’t believe that he was caught by Erika’s brothers and they were taking him to jail. This was bad news, he thought to himself as his eyes bulged out of their sockets in fear. If he was taken to prison, he would be questioned and they would file a case of kidnapping against him.
Without thinking, Adrian reached for the car door and tried opening it but after several attempts, he came to realize that the door was locked.
"Where do you think you are going huh?" Daniel questioned him. "After what you’ve done, you think that you can escape so easily? You’d better start explaining where you’ve kept Erika."
Adrain pretended to be confused by asking, "What do you mean? Is Erika kidnapped? I didn’t know about that."
"I think it’s best if you save us some time and start speaking the truth before we arrive at the police station," Edward suddenly said. This was the man who kidnapped his sister-in-law? He wouldn’t let him leave without getting punished.
"What are you talking about? I didn’t kidnap Erika," Adrian continued to lie.
"Maybe you should save that explanation for the officers," Felix commented this time.
Adrian’s eyes darted back and forth in the car as he tried to come up with a plan to escape from these people. When he remembered that his phone was still in his pocket, he dug his hand inside and brought it out. As soon as the phone came out of his pocket, Daniel who was sitting beside Adrian grabbed the phone forcefully and took it away.
"You want to call for help? Too bad I won’t let you," Daniel said as he tried to open the phone himself but came across a screen password. "What’s your password?" He demanded.
"I’m not telling you," said Adrian.
"If that’s the case, you are not getting your phone and calling for help until we reach the station," David retorted and slipped the phone into his pocket.
Adrian hissed as fear gripped him. He didn’t expect any of them to show up. All he planned was to get done with ’business’ and go back to Erika, not to visit the police station. Soon, he started to analyze everything on his own.
Erika’s brothers and this unknown man who came along with them had come to the club and this time they caught him. After the day that he was able to outrun them, he’d thought that they would show up again the next day but unfortunately, they didn’t. He’d loosened his guard around himself with the thought that they had given up and wouldn’t come back to continue to look for Erika, but he thought wrong.
He remembered Viper’s words because he felt his body thrown across the room. Viper had seen them around and had sent him a text but he didn’t see it. If only he had opened his phone and read his text then he wouldn’t be in these people’s car, heading to the police station.
After thinking some more, he came to realize that they didn’t have any sort of evidence against him to put him in jail. His heart immediately rejoiced at the thought that he wouldn’t be put in jail since they were only acting out of suspicion.
With one corner of his lips pulled up to form a smirk, Adrian said confidently, "You people won’t be able to put me in jail because you have no sort of evidence to do so."
