Chapter 205: THROWN
Under the club, where the games were taking place, Adrian was collecting money that had been paid by the debtors and counted it himself. He didn’t trust Mamba and the other men who worked for Viper.
Ever since he became Viper’s right-hand man, he’d been noticing the murderous stares he’d been receiving from the other men, it was as if they wanted to kill right here and there to snatch their spots. So, to be extra careful, he’d taken it upon himself to count the money that the debtors had paid. Who knows, they might plan to frame him and lie that he’d stolen some of the money even though he has done that several times but of course, very discreetly.
As soon as he was done, he came out of the office to watch the players play the game.
"Where’s Viper? He said he’d already arrived inside the club but he isn’t down yet," one of the gamblers asked Adrian. He checked the time on his wristwatch before he replied,
"He also told me the same thing, I will go and see what’s holding him."
Adrian walked towards the elevator and got in. If only he knew that Viper was trying to distract his uninvited visitors.
—
Upstairs, the three men had finished their drink and ordered the next one. They’d been observing Viper, trying to find any clues in this action. Even when he went to the restroom, they followed him, thinking he was going to run away.
The man looked serious with his hat that covered half of his face, the business suit covering his tattoos, and women would sit by his side from time to time, trying to seduce him but none had ever been able to succeed.
Although he was the owner of the club, he didn’t dare touch the strippers since they were used women and since his heart still longed for his dead wife.
"So he’s not going to go down to the underground gambling?" Daniel asked. They had been sitting for quite a while now but they had not seen any action coming from Viper. He was simply talking to the other men as if he was narrating his life’s story to them which had made them grow impatient.
"Of course, he’s going to go there," Edward replied. "He’s only waiting for us to leave since he knows that we are aware of his illegal business," he added. He checked the time on his phone and realized that It was nearing midnight already. They’d been in the club for close to 3 hours, he thought to himself.
"Can’t we just manhandle him or something? He knows what we are saying," Felix added impatiently.
"You can’t do that," Edward tried to stop him. "Who knows what Adrian is doing to Erika at the moment or how he treats her so it’s better we take things slowly even though it’s quite annoying."
Felix released a sigh and stared around the club. When he sighted a stripper taking her clothes off, he immediately tore his eyes away from her and looked somewhere else. He noticed a man walking towards the table Viper was seated on. Due to the dimmed lights in that corner, he couldn’t make out the figures of the person until the person took a seat near Viper.
As soon as the person’s facial features were revealed, he announced, "Adrian is here."
Both Edward and Daniel followed Felix’s glare and it landed on the man that they had been looking for.
Without wasting a second, the three of them marched towards Adrian with heavy steps. Anyone who got in their way would be pushed away immediately.
On the other hand, Viper glared at Adrian as he spoke, "Didn’t you see my message?"
"What message?" Adrian frowned. Without a warning, Adrain felt his body being lifted and thrown across the table with a heavy force. Everything had happened so quickly that he didn’t get to register the face of the person who dared to do such a thing to him.
His body collided with the table on the other side, and the impact resulted in some damage.
The entire people in the club gasped in shock. The strippers immediately searched for their clothes and wore them quickly because it was obvious that a fight had broken out.
The club music stopped its booming which left the place oddly silent.
Adrian tried to get up from the hard floor that he’d unfortunately landed on. He couldn’t believe what just happened to him. One second he was talking to Viper and the next, he was thrown across the room by an unknown man.
Despite his pained body, rage filled him. He managed to finally get up from the floor but before he could properly take a stand, a hard punch landed on his face, which sent him flying again.
Blood spurted out from his mouth and so did a tooth.
The bouncers who were stationed at the gates of the club rushed inside when they heard the loud crashing noise and could already imagine what was happening. This wasn’t a new event in a club and they grow tired of it every day but what could they do? It was their job.
When they saw the man who arrived with their boss most of the time being beaten up, they were about to rush and go help him but Viper made a hand gesture for them not to which left them confused for a bit but decided to obey.
Felix walked towards Adrian, who couldn’t muster enough strength to lift his body off the ground and hit him right across the face again. Seeing the man who had intruded on his wedding and ruined everything and on top of that, kidnapped his sister, he couldn’t bring himself not to kill him on the spot. If he would have to deal with the police later then he would gladly do it.
By now, he should have been on a honeymoon with Monica but because of this bastard, he wasn’t and now he wouldn’t let his sister go.
