Chapter 170: WEDDING INTRUDER

In the courtyard of the Walters mansion, everywhere had been decorated with white rose flowers to represent the joyous occasion that would be taking place soon, children of the guests roamed around the place while the ones with the shortest pair of legs would take gentle steps, else, they would fall on the ground.

"You kids! Come back here", Mrs Walters tried to gather the children in one place and so did the servants. The parents tried to keep their children at bay but they seemed too excited about the wedding that would be taking place.

After the parents were finally able to control their children, Mrs Walters went to the front door to welcome the guests.

Everyone got busy with their arrangements and so was Monica. Inside one of the guest rooms that had been used as the bride’s makeup room, someone placed a soft knock on the door before opening it.

"You do know that you are not supposed to see the bride before the wedding, right?" Mrs Smith questioned Felix, who was stunned when he faced Monica’s goddess-like face.

"Take a picture, it will last longer," she jokingly said.

"Hey, I am talking to you," Mrs Smith snapped at Felix and he immediately came back to his senses, making the other girls in the room giggle.

When their wedding date got closer, the couple had planned to postpone it until Felicia was found but Erika urged them to continue with the wedding and not postpone it because of them.

When they received news from the officers that an inmate from the escapees had been captured, they believed it wouldn’t be long until Felicia was also captured. So, Felix and Monica agreed to do their wedding when the auspicious day arrived, which was today.

"I couldn’t wait as it was taking too long and I wanted to see her," he confessed. "So are you guys done?" He asked them.

His mother shook her head, implying ’no’. "We haven’t put the veil around her head yet," she said. Cassandra and Erika continued to apply makeup on Monica’s face and then Felix suddenly raised his hands to stop them.

"Don’t apply too much makeup on her face, I don’t want the men to start drooling over my bride." The girls gave each other a look before they burst out laughing uncontrollably. Monica didn’t know if she should laugh along or calm her cheeks that had heated up.

"I don’t think we need to apply blush on Monica’s cheek anymore. I mean look at her," Erika pointed at Monica’s cheeks which had turned slightly pink.

Instantly, Monica covered her cheeks with her palm as she tried not to blush anymore.

"Felix, we just started applying makeup on her face," Jasmine informed as she continued to laugh. "Did you see any makeup on her face?" She questioned him.

Monica looked so beautiful that Felix didn’t realize that there was not any makeup on her face yet. She was just too naturally beautiful and he loved it.

Felix scratched his neck slightly because of the embarrassment he felt. "In that case, you don’t need to apply too much then," he said, trying to save his embarrassed face. The girls continued to giggle before they resumed their work. Felix stayed in the room and watched them work their magic on Monica’s face.

Mrs Smith called Erika, who was now applying the mascara on Monica’s eyelashes. "Erika, please go and check if everything has been set up properly," she requested and the latter happily complied.

"Sure," said Erika as she handed the mascara over to Cassandra and left.

Back in the courtyard, a man who wore a black suit that fitted every part of his body, revealed his invitation card to the security guards before he walked inside the courtyard and took a seat for himself. He wore a mask to hide his face as he watched the crowd before him. His eyes scanned the crowd for the person whom he had come for until he saw her laughing with the other ladies who were hanging up decorations around the courtyard. Then he saw Ethan, walking up to her before pulling her away.

"Why does he have to be everywhere?" Adrian growled in annoyance.

All of a sudden, the bell rang which indicates that it was time for the wedding to begin. Adrian sprang up from his seat and left the garden. "Is everything set? We are going to take back my bride," he said over the earpiece he was wearing.

"It’s ready," the people who had come with him for the abduction replied and he cut off the call.

Adrain noticed Ethan walking to stand next to Felix at the altar and he clenched his fist in anger. "You think you can take what rightfully belongs to me? Well, you’d better think again," he growled again.

Everyone took their seat on the plastic chairs and waited for the bride to arrive.

Adrian noticed Erika walk out of the garden and headed inside the mansion. When he turned to glance at Ethan, the man was chatting with Felix.

"This is my chance," Adrian mumbled to himself, and quickly, he followed behind her.

Inside the mansion, Erika climbed the stairs and headed to her room.

"How could I have forgotten the flowers in my room," she muttered as she gave herself a facepalm.

The living room was empty now since everyone had already moved to the garden, which gave Adrian the privilege to not conceal his presence.

When he saw Erika moving up the stairs, he immediately followed her. He dipped his hand into his pocket and waited for her to turn.

As Erika was about to turn the knob of her door around, she heard some steps from behind her. Instinctively, she turned around and saw a man wearing a mask and a cap to keep his face hidden.

As she was about to scream, Adrian pulled out a handkerchief and covered her nose with it.

On the other hand, Erika tried as much as possible to not inhale the toxin that had been put inside the handkerchief as she tried to fight the unknown man.

When she couldn’t hold her breath anymore, she gave up and inhaled the substance.
