Chapter 164: BIG WIN

Viper stood at the other side and watched as the commotion unfolded. He didn’t interrupt but waited to see how Adrian would handle the whole situation. He wasn’t at all surprised by the accusation that Mr Salvador had put against Adrian. It was very common in the underground gambling. When a player loses too much money, he always blames the opponent for cheating him out of his money. And that’s why Viper comes in. He would let the players money to continue playing, trying to retrieve their money back until they go bankrupt and he would acquire all of their properties if they couldn’t pay back.

Adrian held a confused expression as he stared at Mr Salvador. He was only playing the game just like everyone else and now, he was accused of cheating.

He took a deep breath before he released it and said,

"Mr Salvador, I promise you, I didn’t cheat or anything. It’s just a game and I won," he ended up chuckling at the end of his sentence as if he found the whole thing funny and was mocking Mr Salvador, which only aggravated the old man’s anger.

"Do you think this is a joke?" Mr Salvador questioned Adrian as he readied his fist and launched an attack at him.

Since Mr Salvador was sitting opposite Adrian, and a big table was set in front of them, his balled fist of attack couldn’t reach Adrian and instead, his fist ended up landing on the table.

Adrian watched the whole thing as if it was some comedy show. He didn’t have to move an inch as he watched the old man’s fist kiss the table.

"Mr Salvador, I didn’t cheat you. If you think I’m lying, let’s play another game," Adrian suggested.

He knew he didn’t cheat because he didn’t have to. It was either luck since he wasn’t good at the game or the old man was too bad of a player.

"Alright," Mr Salvador agreed. He was ready to prove Adrian wrong and get his money back. "But this time, the stake is higher," he added.

"What do you mean?" Adrian asked, confused.

"If I win, you pay me back my money, double it. And if you win, I pay you double," Mr Salvador explained with a smirk.

He could already see the stars dancing on his head with just the thought of winning 6 million tonight while Adrian had the same thought as well. With 6 million, he could do a lot of things.

"No problem," he readily agreed. He had complete faith in himself that he could win.

Mr Salvador was quite surprised that Adrian would agree so easily. He doubted his skill for a second before shrugging it off with the thought that Adrian was a rookie and a rookie was bound to make mistakes.

"Set the table," Mr Salvador commanded. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Immediately, the table was cleared, chips were arranged and so were the cards that were handed to both of them and the games began. As the games continued to play, everyone held their breaths as if it was their money that was used to make the bet.

Mr Salvador wished he could sneak into Adrian’s. card and find out what his next move could be but unfortunately for him, he was sitting on the opposite side. Even if he stood up, he still wouldn’t be able to see it.

Everyone had abandoned all of their games and their focus was on this one at table 7. Not sure of who would win the bet, whispers started to evolve from the crowd as they watched the game.

When Mr Salvador saw the unfortunate cards in his hands, he gulped down his saliva in fear as his forehead glistened with sweat.

"Go on, play," Adrian urges when he notices the old man’s hesitation.

With fidgeting hands, Mr Salvador placed down the last two cards he was holding and everyone waited for Adrian to drop his. When the king card was seen, no one could deny that Adrian was the winner.

The game had started quickly and ended quickly as well. Once Mr Salvador saw Adrian’s cards, he instantly became infuriated. His chest rose in anger as his face turned completely red like a tomato and seemed to want to burst too.

Shame, rage, and fear. Those emotions attacked Mr Salvador’s ego and since he wasn’t able to contain himself, he banged on the table harshly.

"You cheated!" he yelled out loud.

"You lost your chance," Adrian said afterward. He had won 6 million in two games. That kind of win is hardly seen around here, he thought to himself.

"And I say that you cheated!" Mr Salvador repeated. He turned to the onlooker and added, "You people saw him cheat right? I’m sure you must have seen him cheating or something," he tried to force out words from their mouths.

The other players couldn’t speak or dare utter any words of accusation. They had watched the game begin and end right in front of their faces. Their eyes had been on Adrian, watching him like a hawk and they hoped that he would just cheat but unfortunately, Adrian didn’t cheat. He won fair and square but of course, they wouldn’t say that since they were envious of him.

"Won’t you people say something?" Mr Salvador demanded but everyone kept their mouths shut. The noisy underground gambling turned as quiet as a cemetery.

"Mr Salvador, I think you should just stop trying to accuse me of cheating and just send the money," Adrian spoke up when he got tired of Mr Salvador’s constant barking.

The old man quickly tried to utter some more words of protest but nothing came out.

He snapped, "You are not getting any money from me because it’s obvious that you cheated."

"How so?" Adrian snapped back.

"You think I don’t know your ways, Adrian? Probably because you cheated on your ex-wife so many times, you ended up being cheated by your wife...."

Before the old man could complete his words, a hard fist had already landed on his face and the huge impact led him to stagger a few steps back.

Everyone gasped in shock when they watched Adrian punch Mr Salvador right in front of their face.
