Chapter 138: NEARLY CRIPPLED
"Madam Laura, what are you talking about?" Felicia asked innocently which only irritated Madam Laura to the core.
Madam Laura stood up from her bed and took slow threatening steps towards Felicia and Mary.
"You don’t know what I am talking about, huh?" she questioned her. She brought her cell phone from her pocket and asked, "You said you weren’t the one who took my cell phone so how come it was seen in a plastic bag after you left the restroom?"
Nervously gulping down her saliva, Felicia mustered the courage to speak, "But I wasn’t the one who took it".

Instantly after her sentence, a hard slap landed on Felicia’s cheeks and she fell on the floor due to the impact.
"Don’t you dare lie to me girl", said Madam Laura through gritted teeth. "She saw you enter the restroom to search for the cell phone after she left", she pointed at Raven who smirked at Felicia when she saw her sorry state. Raising her foot, she kicked Felicia’s butt with it.
"Madam Laura, please. We didn’t mean to do it", said Mary with folded hands as she pleaded. "Please forgive us".
"This daughter-in-law of yours is a pain in the neck and if you do not handle her, I will make her regret crossing paths with me", the boss threatened.
Felicia who was lying on the ground in a sorry state, felt blood trickle from her cheeks to her chin before dropping on the ground.
"By the way, you were that person whom you were calling with my phone?" Madam Laura questioned Felicia. When seconds passed but still no response from Felicia, Madam Laura kicked Felicia again and the latter quickly spat out,
"It was my brother".
"And why were you calling him?" asked Madam Laura.
"I asked him about our family", she lied. If she told Madam Laura the truth, then the old hack would know about her plans to escape and probably report her to the wardens.
"Is that so?" Madam Laura asked with an amused tone. "You asked about family for only 5 minutes, aren’t you such a caring person? You’d better tell me what you two spoke about if you do not want the punishment I am going to hand it to you to get bigger", she threatened.
"That’s the truth, we talked about our family and I asked how everyone is doing", Felicia continued to lie.
Sensing that the girl wouldn’t speak so easily, Madam Laura signaled for Raven to bring the stick that was resting on the wall.
"It seems that you want to be beaten up today," said the boss as she grabbed the thick stick from raven.
Without a second thought, madam Laura Lewis we the stick high up in the air and landed it hard on both Felicia’s legs and the latter yelped in pain.
"Ahh!"
"Please stop this! You are going to cripple her", Mary pleaded but Madam Laura didn’t pay any attention to her.
After repeating the session 4 more times, Madam Laura threw the stick away squatted down to hold Felicia’s cheeks, and glared at her as she replied to Mary,
"Perhaps, she should have thought about that before she began to steal from me and also lie. Now, tell me what you and that other person talked about", she ordered.
With a tear-stricken face and a weak body, Felicia replied,
"I’m planning on escaping from here, now you know".
As soon as those words escaped from her lips, the lackeys all burst into waves of laughter and madam Laura also joined them as well.
Mary reached towards Felicia and tried to help her get up but unfortunately, Felicia’s leg was too weak to assist her in standing.
"You plan to escape from here, you say. You must be out of your mind to think that you can do that, are you planning on sentencing yourself to life imprisonment?" Madam Laura questioned as she continued to laugh. "You probably think it’s easy to leave here but it isn’t", she added.
"That’s not for you to decide", Felicia uttered with spite as she wiped the blood from her chin.
"It seems you still want to be beaten up, you should be lucky that I am taking pity on you because you are pregnant but you still don’t know how to use that mouth of yours", said Madam Laura. "You’d better forget that thought of yours if you don’t want the words you’d just spout out to leave these walls".
"Try it, and I will let the wardens know that you have a cell phone while in jail when it’s clearly stated that it’s against the rules", Felicia threatened back. For some reason, the way the boss spoke always annoys her far more than Erika.
Madam Laura stared at her for 2 seconds before she chuckled lightly.
"I must say you are stupid. Do you want to report me to the wardens because I have a cell phone here? How else did you think that I was able to get a cell phone and still be able to hide it?" She questioned Felicia.
Mary and Felicia gave each other a glance before facing Madam Laura with a confused look.
"What do you mean?" Felicia questioned the boss who only smiled at her before saying,
"You don’t have to know everything. Now, you had better start your work and today, I want you to clean this room 10 times, arrange the beds 10 times as well and this time, make sure not to steal anything from me if you don’t want to face any more punishments".
Felicia stared at her belly before looking at her legs that couldn’t even hold her weight anymore.
"How can I do that? I can’t even stand", she tried to protest. In return, Madam Laura took a step closer to her which frightened her and she quickly took a step back.
"That’s not my problem. Also, don’t forget to wash the toilets as well," the woman ordered.
